CHASES POV
⠀⠀
⠀⠀
"Tell me about the bodies found drained of blood" I demanded, my eyes locked with his.
The aged man was under my compulsion.
"A man was found in the middle of the street, biopsies said he had no blood left in his body, likely drained from the two puncture wounds at his neck and had clear signs of an adrenaline surge in his muscles"
⠀⠀
I looked back at Connor.
"Definitely a vampire, and one that loved the chase" I said.
He nodded.
I turned back to the officer.
"And there were no more bodies?" I asked.
"No, no more bodies" he replied, rigid and unmoving.
"Where was the body found?"
"The highstreet, near the Little Inn pub"
"You'll forget we were here" I said.
He blinked and we sped away.
⠀⠀
⠀⠀
"So we're looking for the pub?" Cheryl asked after I'd repeated back what me and Connor had heard.
"No, were looking for the place the murder took place" I replied, wrapping my arm around her shoulder.
She looked up at me with her doe eyes and I kissed her softly.
We walked to the car and drove toward to town centre.
The drive was pleasant, this town was full of greenery and old buildings making it a sight for sore eyes.
I lapped in the sight and occasionally placed my hand on Cheryl's thigh.
She was also gawking out of the window, enjoying the scenery with a soft smile on her face.
⠀⠀
When we reached the high Street, we found a parking lot and took a stroll along the beige cobbled flooring, the pub came into sight and then in a small alley way beside it, using the torch on our phones we revealed the small stain on the ground and across the bins.
It was blood, there was no mistaking the thick red substance that had been attempted to be wiped away, but its rich scent lingered.
As everybody crouched down to confirm, another scent hit me.
It's succeulence even more tempting than this one.
I started to walk, and it became stronger.
"Where are you going?" asked Connor.
"I think there were two bodies" I admitted.
I continued to follow the scent until around 1/4 mile down the street, I saw another small speck of blood.
I leant down to inspect it with more light and saw several more small dried up droplets.
"Anything?" Connor asked, concerned.
"Yeah, this smell is stronger, more adrenaline at the time of the feed"
⠀⠀
"So their were definitely 2 deaths?" He asked.
"Yes, but why would the attacker take one body and leave the other?" I quizzed out loud.
I was asking myself too.
This was strange.
"I think whoever did this was angry, and wanted the victims to feel fear. Both of them were full of adrenaline before they died" I scratched my head.
"Or not aware of what they were doing maybe?" said Cory.
"If they saw a vampire feeding near the pub, and ran away after being spotted?" He added.
"That's also a possibility, we'd rather that than a vampire on a rampage" I responded.
I dialed Conrad to fill him in.
"Hey, I was just about to call you" he spoke.
It was late, so this couldn't be good.
"You first" I said.
"We found 3 bodies, all wolves. Looks like they've been travelling down stream for a few weeks going by the decomposition rate"
Fuck, I thought.
"Vampire?" I asked, feeling like I already knew the answer.
"Mhm" he replied.
"What we're you calling about?"
"There were two deaths, but one body was taken" I answered.
"This just keeps getting more complicated, maybe we poked at the wrong wasps nest" he scoffed.
"And if its connected?" I solicited.
"Then we have bigger issues"
"Let's hope it isn't, at this rate we might aswell hope he's tied up in a cellar waiting for us" I said.
⠀⠀
⠀⠀
He explained his plans for tomorrow, and we hung up.
Me and the others would join him now that we didn't know what we were dealing with.
A whole new can of worms had been opened.

HARRYS POV
⠀
⠀⠀
⠀
⠀⠀
I was laying in bed when the door knocked.
"Come in" I called.
The door opened and Conrad entered, closing the door behind him.
"Hey" he said, nervously.
"Hi, everything okay?" I smiled.
"Honestly, I'm not sure" he ran his fingers through his thick, dark hair.
His stubble was now thick and he looked tired.
"What's going on?" I challenged, sitting up in the bed and pulling the duvet up to cover my chest.
I was in a thin strapped tank top with no bra and wanted to save my modesty.
He sat on the side of the bed, not looking at me.
"The others found a second batch of blood droplets at the scene. The vampire took off with the other body so nobody knows why"
"What.. so this guy is just on a mission to kill?" I mouthed.
"If he's fed on wolves, this guy will know no boundaries"
"It's like a drug to Vampires, one that gives them extra strength and speed, this guy could be the one holding your father making our task difficult or.." He trailed off.
I waited patiently for him to finish.
He sat silent.
"Or what Conrad?" I groused.
"Or, it could be your father"
I shook my head, my dad would never feed on wolves, he valued treaties and had more moral than that.
"No, it can't be, this man must be the one connected my Dad would never" I whispered.
⠀⠀
I didn't want it to be true.
Was it a possibility? Of course, anything was at this point but I had to hold on to hope.
I already had my mum to deal with, now my dad was a problem drinker?
I shook my head and stood out of the bed, forgetting I was dressed so skimpy.
Conrads eyes darted from my face to my chest and then to my legs, before he realised and averted them to the door.
I looked down, coming to realisation myself and wrapped a cardigan around me.
"I need some air" I muttered, leaving the room.
Once I got outside, the cool air hitting me, I felt myself getting numb.
My life was continuously crumbling around me, and I needed some hope and something to hold onto.
I dialed Beatrix.
"Heyy" she sqealed.
"Hi, how's everything at home?" I questioned, feeling guilty about leaving her around Christoph.
Since I was not at home, I hoped it would deter him from going over.
"Everything is fine, mum has got worse though" she said, sounding sad.
"Why?" I asked.
"She's drinking early now, I'm going out with my friends more because its wierd being around her. She cries a lot" she admitted.
"I'm sorry I left, I should have stayed with you"
"No you deserve to spend time with your friends you leave school soon, you'll be leaving for college, I need to get used to you not being here"
She was so brave and mature for a 16 year old.
"I love you bee, start hiding the alcohol from mum, if she can't find it she can't drink it" I offered.
"She'll only order in more"
My baby sister sounded defeated, clearly she's tried that move.
"Once I'm home I'll speak to her, make her see sense, just try to enjoy your summer bee" I pleaded.
"I will, love you" she said, ending the call.
At least I knew they were safe, and bee was distracted from all of this.
⠀⠀
I'd wanted to tell her what I was doing but it would give her false hope and destroy her more if things didn't go to plan.
I just hoped Chris didn't say anything to anyone about it.
I'm sure he'd be making an appearance sooner or later, I just prayed it was later.
I thought about tomorrow.
Me, Conrad, Ben and Lucas were going ahead, cloaked to see of the warehouse was even occupied while Hardin, Luke, Jack and Zia went to meet the others and lead them to us.
At this point it was unlikely that we'd find anything, if the pack members had travelled down stream this far they would have passed the warehouse and alerted the others.
We were stuck at this point though, because from the warehouse we had no idea where to go next.
We had other leads to follow, but after the connections and activity being made around here this was the most hopeful.
I sat around the fire, that was slowly burning out and tried to picture why my dad would feed on a Werewolf.
Surely he'd know it would become addictive and avoid it.
In the same breath we never mixed with wolves to know this, and that would be their secret weapon to pull out on us Vampires if we ever threatened that.
Sure, it would be detrimental to them if a vampire still chose to fed as he'd probably never stop and wipe put entire packs but if that happened, they'd be addicted to a substance that was them extinct leaving them suffering for God knows how long without it.
I went inside and got back into bed, Conrad had left and was probably in bed himself.
I let my eyes drift, praying that it was some bug scary vampire unrelated to me, and that my dad was okay.
Not suffering, not a threat to anyone.
Just captured somewhere waiting to be found.
It was an unrealistic image to have but I had to do whatever I could now to cling on to hope and keep me going.
If I lost hope, I'd lose everything.
I needed my dad back, my un-addicted, happy go lucky, loving dad.
We'd kill the master Vamp, find my dad and take him home.
He'd kill Chris, help my mum and we'd be back to normal.
I let myself fall to sleep with these images in my head, and let my dreams kick in.
⠀
⠀⠀
I woke up to the sound of chatter, and knew the guys were up.
I got into the shower and brushed my teeth before getting dressed into some thick jogging bottoms and a tshirt and putting some extra socks, a first aid kit that I'd found in the bathroom and a waterproof jacket in my backpack.
We'd hired the cabin out for a week but decided to leave the rest of our belongings in the car that the guys would take later on to meet the others.
Me, Lucas, Conrad and Ben were ready to go once they'd made some sandwiches and we ate breakfast.
"We have the walkie talkies and our mobiles so if we spot any trouble we'll let you know.
Don't come alone if we do, wait for the others and them come" Conrad instructed.
He didn't want to risk bringing the other wolves as they were in more danger.
I was there to talk sense into my father if it was him, Ben because he was handy with a gun and Lucas for the cloaking spell.
Nobody else needed to be at risk as we knew nothing about what we were getting into.
The guys nodded and got into the SUVS, driving off.
We started our hike, it was twiggy and in some places slippery.
I had to hold onto trees and jump over fallen versions.
After a few hours we stopped for lunch and a drink, to regain some energy.
Even being supernatural beings, the efforts of walking and the paranoia of what could be lurking around was draining.
We were gaining height slowly but surely and should only have to walk for another 3 hours before we reached the peak height to see everything we needed to.
This part of the forest was more tricky, as it was over grown and steep, Ben had to catch me a few times as I'd lose my balance and almost fall backwards.
I was clumsy on my feet.
⠀⠀
Eventually, with beads of sweat and out of breath, we all reached the top and took a seat for a minute.
As we were gathering ourselves, the warehouse came into view.
It was at least a mile or two away, but we could see it now.
I wished we could just see through it to save ourselves getting near to whatever was on a killing spree, but 10 minutes later we'd started our journey towards it.
