The beautiful petite woman laid on the limb of the tree like a cat. Not only was she a wolf, but she was a witch so she could shape shift into whatever she wanted, so sometimes she literally WAS a cat laying in the tree. In her cat form she was an orange, black and white calico, but her human form was quite the contrast. She had shoulder length, wavy golden blond hair that seemed to shimmer in the sun, but brighter than that were her eyes, also golden and somehow sparkly. She had honey tanned, perfect skin and she always smelled like honey and coco. Typically, she dressed rather slutty, wearing short skirts and crop tops with tall boots. Despite her odd, cheshire cat like demeanor she was adored by most men in her pack. Not only was she absolutely gorgeous, but she was flirtatiously quirky and a little bit psychotic. If there was such thing as an Alpha female, it would be her. Everyone thought she would be mated to the twin Alphas of the pack, but other then murmurs, she had no idea who they were and neither did they know about her. Not that it mattered. Suspicion or not, after turning 18 she would come of age and her fated mate would be revealed to her.
Men always were mated to girls 1-3 years younger than them, so they had to wait to meet their mates longer than the girls did. Adrian wondered if her mate had been waiting for her; if he even cared. She wondered if she would even be interested in him or if she would reject him, or even if he would reject her.
Adrian climbed down from her tree and began to head home. She lived down on the more ghetto side of her packs territory. Her parents were poor junkies. They spent all their money on the house and drugs so as for food and clothes, Adrian was left to fend for herself. Despite it being illegal, she’d been a bartender at the bar down her street since she was 14, and before then her co worker/best friend Vivian helped her out and sort of took care of her like an older sister. Luckily for Adrian, all pack members were required to attend school for free, so she at least hadn’t had to worry about her education.
Halting the thoughts of her future and past, Adrian started heading to work. As she walked down the street many eyes were on her. Women stared at her and judged her for the way she looked; though most of them were just jealous. Men checked her out from head to toe, often checking her neck to see if she had been marked by a mate yet. Most of the men who knew of her were anticipating her turning 18, hoping to god that they would get to be her fated mate.
“Hey Vivi!” Exclaimed Adrian, as she walked behind the bar hugging her friend.
“Hi baby, you ready for tonight?”
“What’s tonight?”
“Stop playin’ wit me, you know you turn 18 tonight. Aren’t you excited??”
“What’s there to be excited about? I mean most girls are excited they get to wolf out on their 18th, but I already can since I’m a—“
“You know you shouldn’t be talking about that out loud.” Vivian said bluntly.
Adrian sighed, she knew her friend was right but she wasn’t happy about it. Being a cross breed was NOT looked fondly upon in their pack. Being a human/wolf wasn’t a problem, and being a vampire/wolf was impossible, but being a witch/wolf was extremely uncommon. Like unheard of uncommon, and since Adrians mom mostly spent her time getting high she never really did any witchy sort of things, so no one knew what Adrian really was. No one but Vivian, anyway. Hardly anyone in the pack even knew anything about witches other than that they existed. Most of what Adrian learned about her witch side was from books and the internet.
“I don’t understand why so many people hate crossbreeds,” Adrian sighed again.
“Cause our pack isn’t too fond of witches. The former Alpha and Luna have beef with them, so that kinda defaults the pack to not liking them. The only reason you even exist is because your mom is so out of it she probably forgot she was a… you know. And I’m sure your dad was too out of it to care what she was.”
“I just—“
“Ho-ly sh*t!!” Exclaimed Vivian, her jaw literally dropping open.
Before Adrian could ask what, she looked in the direction Vivian was looking and saw two handsome men walking into the bar. They were almost a foot taller than her, dressed in tight black jeans and black leather jackets—they looked like bikers from the 60s. They had Jet black shiny hair, one wore his hair slicked back while the other sort of let the lose hairs down on his face right above his eyebrows. They were obviously very sculpted men, anyone could tell just from their arms and jawlines alone. Though, the most captivating feature of these twins were their eyes; such a bright ocean blue that they almost looked neon. After they entered the bar, everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at them. Adrian didn’t understand why. She knew they were obviously attractive, but she’d never seen any sort of reaction like this before.
The twins walked toward the bar, staring directly at Adrian. They were so beautiful that just their penetrating gaze made her belly flutter.
“What can I get you guys to drink?” Said Adrian. The twins stood and stared at her, almost confused at her under-reaction compared to the rest of the room. “You alright, lads?” She looked over to Vivian and her expression hadn’t changed only now she was looking at Adrian.
“We’ll have to whiskeys, one neat, one on the rocks.” Said the twin with the slicked back hair.
Adrian turned around to make the drinks, and as she sat them on the bar she noticed Vivians expression hadn’t changed. In fact, no one in the bar had moved. What the hell was going on, she thought.
“Geez this is weird,” she chuckled. “Are you guys like serial killers or something? I don’t watch the news.”
The twins chuckled softly looking at each other then back at the confused bartender they’d never met.
“Uh, no.” Smirked the twin with the fluffy hair. “Im Alpha Dimitri, and thats my twin Alpha Dante.”
“I’m assuming you’ve never seen us before,” said Dante, also smirking at Adrian.
Adrians cheeks were flushed red. Her inner wolf felt ashamed for not recognizing her Alphas.
“O-Oh, my apologies Alphas… You’re right, Ive never seen what you guys looked like. Only heard of your names.” Adrian said, squeamishly. She was so embarrassed she wanted to sink onto the floor and die.
The twins smiled at the blush on Adrians face, but silence was eerie and as the twins noticed it ruined their smiles.
“Everyone can go back to talking,” shouted Dante. “It’s too quiet in here!” People around the room seemed off-put, but they did as their Alpha commanded.
“What’s your name, love?” Dimitri asked.
From what Adrian knew, from rumors anyway, Dimitri was the flirty, slutty brother. He was also the nicer, kind hearted brother. Dante was the more diplomatic brother, much more formal but much more rude and very dangerous when he needed to be. They both were, but Dante was much more hot headed than his brother.
“My name is Adrian.”
The twins just stared at Adrian and her face was so flushed red that she couldn’t cool down, so she decided she had to get out of there. “Have a good night lads,” Adrian said, turning to Vivian, “I’m gonna go outside for a bit and get some air.”
As Adrian left the bar the twins looked at her friend Vivian, insinuating they wanted an explanation as to why she left the bar.
“S-She turns 18 tonight, uh-any minute now actually, so shes a bit worried about it. She’ll probably take a lot of breaks tonight.”
Explained Vivian, terrified of giving the twins an answer that was anything other than what they wanted to hear. The twins nodded at Vivian simultaneously, and headed out of the bar behind Adrian.
When they got outside they began glancing the area. Neither of them seen the bartender, so they decided to just head back to their house.
“Did you feel weird around her?” asked Dimitri, rubbing his neck sheepishly.
“Yeah, I think I know what you mean… ” said Dante. “Do you think she could be our mate?”
“Nah I doubt it, theres no way we’d be lucky enough to meet her this soon—“
The twins stopped in their tracks and looked at one another. “Do you smell that?”
“Yeah, it smells wonderful!” Dante exclaimed. Their eyes turned black from enticement, “it smells like our mate!!”
