Dark Desire

Prologue

“What we fear shall come true. Conquer your fears and be careful of what you say for a demon could use your words against you and your fear can come to life.”

The moon hung high in the sky and the scent of chocolate and honeysuckle engulfed Gadreel and the tension in his body eased. 

"I thought I'd find you up here." 

Gadreel turned and gave his best friend a warm smile. "You always know where to find me Luv." 

She walked up to him and pressed her lips against his. His body heated up and he groaned when she pulled away. They stared into each other's eyes. Luv's were filled with worry and fear. 

"What's wrong?" Gadreel asked as he stroked her cheek.

"Do you have to go?"

Gadreel was confused for a while and then understood Luv's words. 

He cupped her cheeks, his eyes staring deep into hers. "My angel I have to. God called upon me to lead this mission." 

She shook her head. "No, you don't have to. You didn't have to accept yet you did. Gadreel you could die… " 

Gadreel took a deep breath. "Luv, I'm as scared as you are. This… This is a huge mission and I know the possible outcomes. I need you to help me stay strong and right now you're failing." He said bluntly. Angels couldn’t lie so yes, he was severely honest with her. Luv was not phased at all by his honest words.

"Gadreel  how can I stay strong knowing that my best friend and lover might not come back when he leaves tomorrow." 

"Have faith Luv. Have faith in me and stop worrying you’re making my fear worse."

Tears streamed down her face and she wrapped her arms around Gadreel's waist. "I don't want to lose you." 

He rubbed her back and placed a soft kiss on her temple. "Sh, don't worry my precious angel you shall see me again, I promise."

He pushed her back a little and kissed her deeply. Luv sighed against his lips, eagerly opening her mouth to let his tongue in. They kissed hungrily and with so much passion. Gadreel wanted so badly to bury himself inside her… But he couldn’t. It was against Heaven’s laws for angels to lay with one another. They were not like the First Level Soldiers, they were to remain celibate. But Gadreel and Luv managed to find loopholes. 

No, he would not penetrate her tonight, but there were other things they could do… Gadreel pulled back, his hungry gaze staring deep into Luv’s eyes. She was just as hungry for him. Gadreel smiled at that.

“Come back to my cloud with me Luv…” He said huskily. “Be with me… tonight before I go…”

Luv smiled and nodded, anything for you, my love.”

Gadreel was gone by the time she’d awoken, the morning sun stirring her from her light slumber. She wanted to cry. To follow him. But she didn’t. She remained strong. For him. For herself. She had a lot of work today and she couldn’t afford to be a sobbing mess. And so, she stood, dawned her robe and spread her wings. She flew up from the cloud, the sun basking her in all its glory. As she flew to her designated area, she silently prayed for Gadreel’s safe return.
