Dark Floors

    "BANG!" "BANG!"     I shot up out of my bed. What sounded like gunshots, echoed through the hallways and crept into my bedroom. I looked at my clock. It read 1:23 A.M. Though I wasn't entirely sure this was the best time to be brave, my body wouldn't allow me to puss out and some how pushed me outside my bedroom door.      I heard voices in the distance downstairs. The closer I got, the more it sounded like a woman's, but I couldn't make out the others. I know the woman feared for her life and begged the crusader not to kill her or her daughter. She sounded way too familiar. I managed to make it to the staircase without creating a diversion. The smell of gunpowder and iron filled the air. I slowly walked down the staircase just enough to see what was going on. A trail of blood lead to the kitchen. There were four men surrounding the inside of the kitchen and I could see the woman tied up to a chair. There was a man in front of her that wore a mask with a gun pointed at her head.      "Never make a deal with the Devil and expect a free pass." he growled.  Just as he was about to pull the trigger, he moved just enough for me to see the woman's face. My mouth dropped as her eyes met mine. I felt a pain in my chest and my knees went weak. I could barley catch my breath. I looked down and seen the blade from a hunters knife pierce through my collar bone. I fell to the floor, seeing the blood trail lead to another body in the kitchen. The woman screamed and everything quickly faded to black.      That's when I woke up screaming.
