This was a new start for me. This was the beginning of a whole life for me. It was a whole new page for me and Vivian. Even though she wasn't here right now, I was making plans for her. Everything I was doing and going to do, was for her. She was my priority and I wanted her to have the live that she deserved. I was going to give her the life that she would have had if she had grown up under Cian. I was going to give her everything. And my family too. I was going to make them proud. By the time I was done deliberating with my thoughts, I had spent a great deal amount of time.  I got out of the bathroom and got dressed, before getting out of my room. "I thought you were never going to come out." Lily mocked me. "I literally went after you and I am already done." "I love showers thank you very much." I said. She smiled at me. "You haven't changed." Then she brought out food for me. It wasn't just any casual food. It was ramen noodles. And it looked too good for someone like Lily who couldn't even boil water to make. "You cooked?" I said in total bewilderment. She eyed me. "This shows that you should never look down on anyone. I told you that I was going to learn how to cook eventually." I looked at her. "Uh-huh?" "Yup." She nodded.  "So what's in all this?" I asked her. "What are the ingredients?" "Uhhhhhhh...... noodles?" She said totally lost. I threw my head in laughter. "You're such a liar." I said. Lily was the laziest person on the planet when it came to things  that had to do with the kitchen. Everyone knew that. Her mother had done everything to teach Lily to cook, but with Lily that was totally impossible. "Ok, ok, ok." Lily gave up. "I bought in a Chinese store before I picked you up." "Got you!" I said. "Yeah, yeah whatever. Very soon I'm going to learn how to cook. You wait and see. All of  you." She told me. "You complained about your job when we were in the car." I said as I took my noodles. "What's going on?" She looked like she was about to burst in anger. "Everything is going on. My Boss is a lady called Monique Bellerose. One of the biggest women in the fashion industry. She runs Gucci in France and nothing is ever ok for her. You make a piece and then she is going to throw it right in your face." "That sounds mean." I added. "You think it's just her, but then wait till you meet the models. They are worse. There is one that I hate. Her name is Roxy. She is the meanest b***h I have ever seen. Just cause she is an international model. Who gives two f***s? Not me. I'm just waiting for the day that she will cross me and trust me Selena I will be ready." Lily said angrily. I laughed at her facial expression and how upset she as. It was really funny. "I'm sorry but if you saw your face." I laughed. She rolled her eyes.  "So when do I start work or is there an interview or something?" I asked. "Well today is Friday, you will start on Monday. I will call Luke over." She said.  "Still can't believe you just randomly got me a job. I mean I have been looking for a job for literally four years. That is ever since I gave birth to Vivian." I said. "Don't think about all those people that hurt you. All you need to think about, is the fact that you need to make it, so that you could trample on them." Lily said. Lily was the type to welcome someone who hurt her years ago with widespread arms, just to kill them. "So tell me what you said to him that made me get the job?" I asked curiously. She shrugged. "Well he works as a sort of partner and apparently the CEO needs an assistant. Just someone who can be up to it."  "And you think that person is me?" I asked. "Of course." Lily said matter of fact. "I've known you all my life. And I know what you are capable of and what you aren't. And I know you are capable of this." I blushed. Lily really was rooting for me and I had no words to say. "I don't know what to say." I said. She smiled at me. "You don't need to say anything. Just be you." "Thanks lily. Thanks a lot." I said. Thank you didn't even feel enough. She smiled at me. "Don't mention." Then I looked at her. "Who is this Luke anyways?" She shrugged. "It's this guy that I met. Well he met me at work and then that was it. He followed me around like a buzz bee. So boom we got talking for a while and then he was like his boss needed an assistant." "Wow." I said. "But is he a major boyfriend?" "Oh please, boys and relationships are too hectic for me." She said. "The day I fall in love, throw a brick at me." Lily came from a family with a lot of issues. Her mum and dad used to fight back and forth every single day. It was really traumatic for her and then when they eventually got divorced, Lily was relieved. Then when it came for time for custody, her father didn't waste time in pushing her and her younger sister on her mother. He didn't want them anyway and so since then Lily had daddy issues and relationships were not for her.  I didn't blame her. She hated to admit it, but that was the reason why she was pushing men away from her and playing with them like basketball. "So he met you at the fashion house?" I asked. "No, he met me at the department store that I work at on Friday evening and OH MY GOD!" Lily jumped standing to her feet. "What? What's wrong?" I asked. Her eyes were on her watch. "It's almost six!" "And so?" I asked as she rushed to gather her jacket and a couple of things. "I work at a department store on Friday to the weekend. Every evenings." She said as she wore her jacket. "So you're leaving me?" I asked horrified. "Well I have to. I am pretty sure you wouldn't want to come to that boring store plus you just came back from a flight and aren't you extremely tired?" She asked me. "Is there a rule against you having someone help you?" I asked. She seemed to think for a few seconds before she said. "No, I don't think so." "Then I'm going with you." I told her as I dropped the plates in the dishwasher and went to my room to get my own jacket.
