I pull into the driveway, the familiar sight of my home greeting me like an old friend. The air is filled with the scent of grass and sunshine, a welcome contrast to the long hours on set. But as I step out of the car, something feels off. It is like there is a tension in the air, it is almost palpable, a stark contrast to the usual warmth of returning home.
As I walk up to the front door, I see them… two people, one I expected to see,of course and one I didn’t. Max sits on the couch, his expression grave, and Athena stands beside him, like a reassuring presence in this storm.
“Hey, guys!” I call out, forcing a smile, suddenly feeling nervous. “Where’s Bella?”
“She’s taking a nap after playing in the park,” Athena replies, her voice gentle. “Her and Noah has had a great time.”
