Chapter-1,(Dad's Stubbornness)
Evaka's POV I was feeding my dog when someone knocked on my door. I asked them to come in. Oh, it's my personal assistant. Treca. She brought along two servants and an entire trolley of designer clothes with her. This is not the first time this has happened I grumbled to myself. Dad wants me to do something again according to him. "What happened? Why are you carrying an entire trolly with you?" Treca answers calmly as always, "Sorry to disturb you Miss Evaka. Mr. Edward wants you to visit one of his friends, they organized a party but due to a hefty work schedule Mr. Edward is unable to visit him. So, he wants you to visit in his place and represent him and our company." I exhaled while rotating my eyes, "Why does he think that I'll go there? Even how could you call it a party, it is the place where a bunch of people just come for showoff." Treca stood in front of me, her eyes fixed on me as she listened to every word I said. The silence between us lasted for at least 10 seconds, "I understand your concern, Miss Evaka, but Mr. Edward would like to talk to you at least once.” My facial expression changed into an aggressive look, “Oh, again! What do you all think of yourselves? Why do I have to live my life according to you and Dad?” I was expressing my frustration, my voice gradually escalated to yelling. However, instead of responding to me, she calmly took out her phone and dialed my father's number. Suddenly an idea came to my mind. I controlled my anger took the phone from her immediately and questioned Dad in a calm voice, "Hey Dad! What happened?" "Tomorrow my friend organized a party in Paris but I am unable to visit him due to a heavy work schedule. So, I want you to go there." "Why? What will I get back in return?" I ask him. "What do you want, princess? Everything I have is already yours, just tell me what you want," he muttered. I smiled and my face lit up, “I'll go to your friend's party but I have a condition, and the condition is that you'll take responsibility for the studies of each poor child in Louisiana.” I could feel him smiling, "That's it? That's the only thing you want? Okay! I am going to build a school there that provides them with free education. Are you happy now?" I smiled feeling satisfaction within, "Yeah! Of course, I am, Dad." I happily began selecting a dress to wear from the trolley Treca brought earlier and ultimately chose the limited edition black dress. "Nice choice, Miss Evaka. Now give me permission to leave, I have to make all arrangements before leaving." I waved my hand while looking at the dress, "Yeah- yeah! Of course, you can." The next day I arrives so soon and I'm here, in Paris with my assistant Treca. I got off my private jet. Treca guides me to where a Rolls Royce waiting already waiting for me. The driver opened the door, I sat in the car with my assistant. The driver took us to the hotel where we were going to stay. I was extremely exhausted, so I threw my purse and sandals aside and went straight to bed. I had barely closed my eyes when Treca knocked on my door and informed me that I had to attend a party at 7:00 pm. She had already arranged for a makeup artist to arrive at 4:30 pm for my makeup. I waved my hand, still half-asleep, and replied, “Yes, I understand. You may go now." "Okay Miss Evaka, now I am leaving and I'll directly contact you at 4:30 pm. Have a good rest." And she left my room. At exactly 4:30 pm, Treca arrived with the makeup artist she had promised. As soon as they walked in, I felt like a star in the making. But this is nothing new, I'm used to this treatment. The makeup artist worked her magic and dressed me up in the dress that I had picked out earlier. When Treca came back around 6:25 pm, I was feeling confident and ready to take on the world. With a big smile on her face, she asked me if I was ready. I replied with a resounding "Yes!" and couldn't help but check myself out in the mirror. Turning to Treca, I asked her if she thought I looked pretty and she replied with a heartwarming smile, "You always look pretty, Miss Evaka." I looked at Treca with my eyes wide open and said, "Oh yeah? Now you're buttering me up." Treca smiled and replied, "No, Miss Evaka, you're already pretty." She then said, "Miss Evaka, we're running out of time. The car is ready, we have to leave now." I said, "Yeah yeah, let's go." We arrived at the venue and I headed straight to the food counter to check out what they had. I took a piece of Oreo cake. I was indulging in some delicious cake when Treca barged in and announced that Mr Edward had insisted on meeting. I reluctantly put the plate down and agreed to meet my father's friend. With Treca as my trusty guide, we arrived to meet Mr. Gabriel. I greeted him with a smile and a "hello," but the man's reaction was priceless. He looked at me as if he had seen a ghost and exclaimed, "Oh my goodness, am I dreaming? Is this real or what? Is that Evaka Gomez standing right in front of me?" I couldn't help but laugh at his reaction and responded, "No, Mr. Gabriel, you're not dreaming. It's me, the one and only!" We shared a laugh, and he went on to reminisce about the last time he saw me when I was just a wee 17-year-old. He couldn't believe how much I had grown and matured since then, as I am now a wise and experienced 25-year-old. I interrupted him, "27, Mr. Gabriel." "Ah, yeah! Sorry about that. Now tell me, how are you doing my child? And where's your dad?" he asks. "I'm doing well, Mr. Gabriel. Dad asked me to apologize as he had a busy work schedule and couldn't visit you. So, I'm here on his behalf," I reply. Mr. Gabriel nods in understanding, "I see. That's alright. I’m still happy you came. Have you eaten anything yet?" I put on a look of innocence, "No, Mr. Gabriel. I'm feeling quite hungry." He chuckles and calls his servants to bring me some food.
