Chapter 3

1495 Words
Samuel looked at Lily with a puzzled expression on his face. “Could it be that I misheard her? Or am I going crazy? Sure, surviving heartbreak is no child’s play, but this is beyond my imagination” he said, talking to himself. Both Samuel and Lily were so absorbed in their own world that they failed to notice the shadow that was lurking behind the thick forest’s pine trees. Lily moved closer to Sam and held his hand. Seeing that he made no move to deny her advances, she then guided his hand to snake her hourglass waist. As soon as Sam’s hand got in contact with Lily’s bear skin under her robe, he felt sparkles that spread throughout his body whenever he is close to Lily getting stronger. He couldn’t help but trap her small thin lips in his. The kiss started slow and passionate. As time passes, it starts getting strong and needy. He could not help but indulge in the kiss and entertain the pictures he kept having in mind every time he made out with the Princess. Sam in his head, he already removed all the pieces of clothing from Lily’s body. He is kissing her with great intensity and hunger. He has his hands roaming and touching every inch of her luscious body. He is working on kissing every part of her body in his reach. Planting butterfly kissing down her neck, along her chest. Nibbling her t**s while listening to her cries of pleasure. Hovering over her, looking at her writhe in pleasure, kissing her all the way to her core, and dipping his tongue in the hole hidden by her folds. Sam is lost in the kiss that he couldn’t even notice when Lily wanted to break the kiss to catch her breath. Lily softly pushed Sam away, breaking the kiss while keeping eye contact. A gust of emotions passed through the couple’s eyes, each person lost in their own world. More than anything Lily wished to marry Sam instead of the demon prince and more than anything Sam wanted to spend the rest of his days with Lily. Both their wishes were so far out of their reach. “I want you to make love to me,” said Lily suddenly. The words hit Sam like he was being struck by lightning. He just stared at Lily without a response. He could not make out any response, he was lost between fulfilling his beloved woman’s request and protecting his dignity or not losing his self-respect. “Making love and insulting are two different things my love,” that was Sam’s response of turning Lily down gently. Lily looked lost for a moment before agreeing with what Sam has told her, she has grown accustomed to his stubbornness, and she knew there was absolutely nothing she could say that would make him change his mind. Sam then explained to Lily that he loves her, and only her. For now, he has no idea how he could go against the king and marry Lily but he will surely come up with a plan for the both of them to spend the rest of their lives as husband and wife. They spent the rest of the night making out, chatting, and confessing their feeling to each other. They only went back to their respective homes in the wee hours of the morning. On the castle grounds, the finance minister has been kneeling throughout the night, requesting for his Majesty’s audience. He kept yelling about the importance of the matter he had to report to Sire. Only he slept in the wee hours of the morning also. Soon the first ray of sunlight hit the ground, people started going on with their businesses. A very busy day indeed, everyone carried on with their own life as if nothing happened the previous day, as if the lovers were not forced to break up for a peace agreement. The King summoned the Finance minister into court, the minister was overjoyed but he concealed his joy for he was acting to be heartbroken and was there to launch an appeal. Going up the steps that led to the court, the old man wished he could somehow fly into court but that was forbidden, using magic in court was forbidden, for only the King is allowed to show superiority there. Kneeling down in front of the court the whole night was no child’s play for the Minister, but he was sure his rewards would be far worth his pain. When he heard the King’s assistant summon him inside he got overwhelmed with joy, this meant he get to prove himself worthy to stay in his position. Standing up the Minister ensured to bow down his head and took strong steady strides, nothing should go wrong with this mission otherwise he’ll be doomed. Raising his head a little his sight caught the King sited on the throne, still in his night robe. Right, when he first lifted his head the King looked at the Minister. The Minister’s knees crushed onto the floor, “Majesty please forgive the second in command of the royal army. Your Majesty his parents have served you all their lives, he also spent all the early days of his youth in the camps. Spare his life Sire” he said all this in one go, weeping his eyes out. From the corner of his eye, he noticed the puzzled look on the King’s face but he quickly recovered from it and asked. “Minister Keys, will you stop talking in riddles and get straight to the point?” that was Mr. Keys’ cue to start talking, to deliver the speech that would win him the favour of more than half of the ministers at court. To spice things up Mr. Keys posed and cried a little, just a little, enough to prove that being here was to try and protect the princess from every harm and everyone that tries to bring her harm including the princess herself. The King signaled him to start talking. He did as he was told, he conveyed the whole story hoping that whomever fool was set up to spy on the princess reported the truth. Throughout his recitation, he ensured to keep the sorrowful expression and tears staining his face. By the time he finished the King was pacing back and forth in the room. He knew by the look on the king’s face that he has aced his work, now he had to watch the drama unfold. At the Estaben mention, Sam was peacefully having an afternoon tea with his mother under the garden trees when they suddenly heard a commotion outside the mentions gate. They both stood up at the same time and rushed outside to check what was going on. When they got to the gate they found the royal guards trying to force enter Esteban’s premises. Sam’s mother was the first to react “General why do you feel the need to enter by force into our home when we could have easily granted you access to enter?” The General and leader of the royal guards gave a signal for his team to stop fighting for the entrance with the guards of the Estaben Mention. The royal guards retreated after receiving their leader’s order. “WELCOME TO OUR HOME, GENERAL,” recited Sam’s mother through greeted teeth. The general nonchalantly signaled his team to enter and guard all the places that Sam could use to escape without saying a word to respond to Sam’s mom. Sam was leading his mother back to the garden when he felt the general’s hand on his wrist preventing him from moving any further. Before he could question the general’s intention he was pushed into two guards who quickly restrained his movements. The general then read the addict aloud “Samuel Estaben, son of Elliot Estaben has committed a******y and hindered the peace negotiations with the Demon clan, he is to be arrested and sentenced to death.” Hearing the general’s words for Mrs. Estaben everything started moving in slow motion. She recently welcomed her son back home, and now not only is he leaving home but he is also going to be executed. Her whole world turned upside down right after she heard those words. Sam felt alienated from his surroundings, he couldn’t make sense of what was going on. He let himself be dragged out of his home by the royal guard without even realising what was going on. He knew there were politics at court but he never thought the conniving people would use his love for the princess as the bet to bring him done or more to his early grave. Sam recovered his mind after he had already reached the dungeons in the palace. “I demand my hearing,” is all he shouted after hearing the locks making cracking sounds.
