Edric nodded at my father and then looked at me with a smile. By the time we faced my father again, he was standing inches from me. Edric blocked me from his reach immediately, making father growl at him in annoyance.
“Father.” Edric addressed him as an arm covered me.
“I won’t hurt my pup, I swear.” Father whimpered.
It broke my heart to hear him like that. I tapped on Edric’s shoulder before whispering. “Let him get closer.” I told him.
I must admit that I am a bit nervous, but I trust that he won’t hurt me. Before Edric moved to the side, I glanced at Xavier. I could tell that he was having a hard time. I wish he could have joined us, but I didn’t want my father to hurt him.
