DAWSON
Dawn broke over the small group gathered on the beach—Dawson, Brax, Lucas, and Kane, plus Alexa on the phone. Brax had emailed her right after David left, and boy, did they need the assistance.
“Right, what do we know?” Alexa asked. “Someone needs to fill me in here.”
“We know that the cops won’t help,” Dawson said.
“Doesn’t surprise me. Every time they ever got involved in my life, they f****d up. And did you ever hear of the Theresa Saldana case?”
“No. What happened?”
“She was an actress who got stabbed by her stalker. Before he did it, the cops told her that the threats she’d received were just a regular part of being in the entertainment industry. Nothing to worry about.”
