Sitting in my study talking to the wolves that will be on patrol tonight during the ceremony my phone starts to ring everyone knows I'm in meetings all day and not to disturb unless its urgent so I answer and its Skye a smile hits my lips " hey squirt what you need?"

she dives right into it

" hey dad we just made it back to Megan's car and three tires are slashed"

I'm on my feet as soon as the words hit my ear "go in side the nearest store and wait for me ill be there in 30 minutes. I love you squirt"

I say as calm as I can so she doesn't freak out her emotions going out of control will not be good for anyone in the area "I love you to dad" she says and hangs up

I mind linked some of the strongest warriors of the pack to meet me in the front yard and shut off the mind link 10 min later everyone is out front 15 of my strongest pack members standing at my steps I comes out of the

house and with a booming voice I tell everyone

"something is not right Skye called 10 min ago and told me three of the four tires on her best friend Megan's car had been slashed I told her to go inside the nearest shop and wait for us to arrive. this is not an accident and is very well a trap stay on your toes. lets go!!!!"

I jumped off the porch shifting mid air into my full lycan everything on me extending in size black fur sprouting from every follicle on my body canines extending eyes glowing bright red easily towering over the tallest man in my pack by three feet .Everyone began shifting and started running out of the clearing in front of the house we have a straight shot to town only going over one highway the forest is hot and humid with summer heat but that doesn't slow my pack or me down we train in extreme conditions so we are never at a disadvantage I can feel it radiating through out my body something isn't right opening the mind link

streets up and across from town square spinning in circles like she has lost something looking around I don't see Skye anywhere but I told her to go inside the nearest shop and she always listens slowing down to pay attentions to town thinking maybe I over reacted once again and it was an ex lover of Megan's who slashed the tires. just then Megan finally looks up and notices me coming in her direction and then looks confused like something was missing. she waved her hands big and wide above her head

like I couldn't see her. a soft chuckle left my lips. she is so dramatic as I keep running to her and that store I just know my Skye is in. I see wait is that it cant be Kia hold up a minute that is Kia how did she get here first what is she doing? just then Kia reaches out and grabs Megan puts a piece of cloth over her face and

just as her body goes limp she picks her up over her shoulder like she only weighs a few pounds and carries her behind the shops. I take off running as hard as I can where is Skye I mind link my beta "stop in the closest shops and look for Skye as I follow kia and Megan" he looked at me like I was crazy for a second then took off to the left of the group to the nearest shop while the rest of the pack and I head straight between the buildings down the alley to the back. We get there in no time at all but no one is back there no Kia no Megan I hear a few of my pack members asking where did they go he was just right here. I'm confused why they are saying he it was kia I seen kia I know my wife just then my beta Shawn mind links me

" alpha I have checked every shop I cant even get a scent she is not here and someone is using something to cover up their tracks so I cant tracker her"

my worst fear is playing out right before my eyes where is my daughter what does kia have to do with all this why would she be helping what is the game plan why would she grab Megan I let out an ear piercing howl kicked the dumpster across the alley and watch it put a hole in the store I launched it at. scream at everyone and anyone

they all had started falling to their knees from my alpha voice so as they begin standing they are all splitting up running in different directions trying to find a sign of Skye or Megan. I mind link Kia

" where the hell are you ? what have you done with Skye? where did you just take Megan? do not lie I seen you with my own eyes!"

she responded right away " honey I'm at home you left me here I'm waiting on you to return with our daughter where is she what is going on ?"

"come to town now bring the guard do not travel alone I'm going to get to the bottom of this !

Kia's P.O.V.

everyone is hustling around with a task to do for tonight everything must be perfect. I have been waiting for my baby's 18th birthday patiently. now that it is here I just wish it would be a week away. dreaming of storms the last three nights I know something is coming I just don't know what. I have been distracted all day thankfully my pack is doing everything just right. the decorations are really coming together I have been trying to stay busy so my mind wont worry about my dreams today is going to be just perfect. as if my mind put a jinx on everything Flokie mind links me to come to the front yard. as soon as I arrive he comes bellowing out of the front door like a freight train. everyone quiets at his presence the power my alpha radiates is mesmerizing. the words that come out of his mouth shake me to my core. my Skye is in danger I want to run with them and rip apart the entire town until she is home safe. one step forward and Flokie looks at me and mind links me

"no go inside I will link you when we are on our way back with her. "

"no I have trained along side you and our warriors for years I can help." I link back right away glaring holes through his torso

"I said go inside and wait for us to return" using his alpha tone that he knows I dislike

"please my sweet kia I do not have time for this I have to go get our child go inside where I know you are safe and I will not be distracted."

" fine I love you Flokie bring her home " I turn to go inside and begin praying to the moon goddess PLEASE let her come home. let her be safe do not let today be the day the storm is set to be here.
