Chapter III - Followed

806 Words
She knew she was just being paranoid, someone had been following her — she was not as stupid as the person following her thought, she wasn’t clueless about it either. She had seen a shadow lurking from a distance when she took a turn and everything after that had been her slowly studying the person — discreetly, just enough for them not to notice she was on to them and they didn’t. Because just like that she aggressively shoved their body into the nearest wall, a blade held up against their neck. They weren’t trying to fight back which she found strange — why weren’t fighting back or trying to resist her hold, a single movement from her would kill them but they were calm. She didn’t want them to be calm and the more they remained calm even as she pressed the blade closer to their skin — irritated her. “Who the f**k are you?” she hissed. No response came and she had about enough of it — with her left hand she pulled off the hood covering their head, along with the bandana their used as a mask. And that’s when she pulled back, her blade far away from their neck and her body feet away. “You’re just a kid.” she mumbled, shoving the bandana into their hand she gave them a glare. “I would have killed you, don’t f*****g do that again.” There wasn’t a reply from the latter, simply staring at Deni with a scowl on their face — she had no time for this. “Are you mute?” “No but—” finally a response and that was enough for her, turning away from the child she began walking away — holding no interest for anything they had say. “Wait a minute, listen!” Just like that, Deni found herself staring down at the person in front of her, their arms stretched out. They weren’t as short, a few inches shorter but still able to meet her gaze. The glare she gave them wasn’t at all kind of pleasing but they ignored it. Taking a proper stance she folded her arms in front of her, trying to give off serious and scary vibes — that was a huge fail, so Deni scoffed. She had tried again to walk away but the child had the audacity to push her back, earning a glare. “I thought I had you, I thought I went unnoticed and managed to trap you. I did all the hiding and being sneaky you know, but how?” they asked, waiting for a response that they wouldn’t receive at all — from Deni anyway. “Move out the way.” Deni hissed yet again, she wanted to get away as soon as possible before she hurt this kid. “Well that’s rude. I asked a question here ma’am.” Taking a step forward, the kid challenged meeting Deni’s eyes and definitely invading her personal space. She was irritated even more than before, any moment now this kid wouldn’t have any teeth left. “And I told you to move or else you’ll have a blade in your precious neck, girl.” Deni glared taking a step forward that lead to the latter losing her footing and stepping back a little. “And you’ll have one in your stomach.” that was when she felt the object being pressed against her abdomen — she had enough of the games. The girl thought she won as she saw Deni staring down towards the knife in defeat, so she smirked — mentally giving herself a head pat as of moment. “So listen here—” She didn’t manage to say anything else as the next thing she knew, her hand was in a lot of pain — her shoulder aching and her right cheek kissing the wall. From the corner of her eyes she saw her earlier knife on the ground, and with all the pain she was feeling — she was f****d. “I’m not playing games with you.” Deni pressed hard on her arm causing her to cry out in pain, she felt as though her shoulder would just pop off. “f**k off and don’t ever show your face or else the next time I won’t be so friendly.” The pain was gone, partly gone and she wasn’t being smushed again the wall anymore — Deni had let go of her and walked away. Picking up the knife she tucked it away, her hand over her aching shoulder she mumbled. “She calls that friendly?” That was brutally friendly if she got asked — but regardless she still managed to slip the girls watch off her in time, it wasn’t a failure — she grinned.
