Mikka waited with his team just outside the Thornridge border. He was disgusted to note there was no sign of any sentries to be found. Not a scent, sign, or paw print anywhere. What the hell was going on? Where were Nirka, Notis, Spike, or any of the others? What the hell was going on?
Darby whispered, “I don’t like this, Mikka.”
“What are you thinking, Darby?” Mikka asked, curious as to what the man would have to say.
“When we came here before, we had to dodge three sentries patrolling this area. I don’t smell anyone this time and there aren’t any paw prints or anything. Something isn’t right.” Darby explained.
Nodding, Nyx whispered, “I was thinking the same thing. There’s no way Skyler or Taz would allow this area to be left out of the patrol roster.”
