"I don't know how to say this," Richard said and paused. The words were heavy on his lips.
"Just say whatever you want to say. I hate suspense," Rebecca said with a frown. However, she was nervous. Richard nodded and took a deep breath.
"The truth is, I fell in love with you the first time I saw you. I couldn't take my eyes off you. I was happy when you approached me for a business deal. I wanted to know you. That was why I refused to give in when you said that you were no longer interested in the business proposal. I was excited when you proposed a contr^ct marriage. I saw it as the only way to get closer to you. Moreover, I knew that if I rejected the proposal, you would get someone else to do the job, and I didn't want that to happen," Richard said in one breath.
