Cruz: Just one more peek. That’s all I needed. One more, and I’d let it cool off for a bit. Let her simmer. But hell, who was I kidding? I couldn’t stay away. Not now. Not when she was this close. I parked my bike a few blocks down, out of view, and then I moved like a shadow. I had to see her again. One more time. I was stupid. I knew it was a bad idea, but that’s never stopped me before. I moved quickly, slipping through the dark streets, making sure I was unseen. I had a way of moving that kept me in the shadows, out of sight, yet right where I needed to be.
