Talks

No matter how much they hate Lauren, the guys can't hide their excitement. This notebook has everything they have ever needed to bring Alexander down. Even if they don't find him themselves, his partners and allies will out him if convinced right. Now all they need to do is contact every single person in this list. Go to every address and finally bring Alexander back so justice can finally prevail. They can already taste the victory. "It is a good thing you are not just coming here to ask for help. You are useful as well" Tristan says nonchalantly. Lauren smiles at him as he rolls his eyes. "I said you are useful. Not that anyone here likes you" he says before taking his phone out. "I'm going to ask around about the names here so we know who to talk to and who to avoid" he says as Jaxon nods. "Give me the addresses and I'll have them checked out" Antonio says following Tristan to the other room. Jaxon is staring at Lauren intently. Richard is watching the whole situation unfold before his eyes and to be honest, he does not like it one bit. He knows better than anyone what those eyes mean. Poor Amanda does not even realise what is happening. "You do realise no one is helping you because we want to right"? Richard asks looking straight at Lauren with pure disgust. She shifts uncomfortably in her seat and starts looking around for help. "I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say, we are only doing this for Amanda" he further adds, looking at Jaxon as he says that. The latter realises what his best friend is referring to and coughs guiltily before agreeing with him. "Of Course. We are only doing this for my wife" he says but everyone in the room can tell even he doesn't trust his own words. Well, almost everyone. "Guys please. That's enough berating Lauren for today" Amanda pleads clearly completely oblivious to what is going on around her. Lauren looks to her ex's wife with gratitude and a bit of, something else? Envy maybe? "Lauren, can I offer you something to drink or eat? I'm so sorry I should have offered when we got here" Amanda says embarrassed at her lack of manners and hospitality. Her mother should be turning in her grave right now because of her daughter's ill-mannered behaviour. "Yes please. Thank you" Lauren says in a low voice. The eye Richard is giving her makes her feel just how unwelcome she is here. "I'll make some tea" Amanda states getting up from her seat. Lauren stands with her with so much enthusiasm she almost tripped. "Can I lend a hand"? She asks and Amanda agrees with a bright smile. Anything to help distract Lauren from thinking about her missing child and his lunatic of a father. Jaxon watches as the two women follow each other to the kitchen. A million thoughts going through his head. Maybe he should have not agreed to help Lauren find her son. He would have found Alexander. Somehow. "You do remember she is the same woman that not only slept with your brother but she had his child and helped him ab.du.ct your mother as well right"? Richard asks Jaxon with a hint of irritation in his voice. Jaxon looks at Richard in shock and disbelief. Of course he remembers what Lauren did to him and his family all those years ago. "I know that. You did not have to remind me of something that happened to me" he says angrily. "Well I'm glad you remember. Because I do not like the look you are giving her. In front of your wife" Richard states. Jaxon is left questioning what Richard is even talking about. There is no 'look' he was giving Lauren. "I don't know what you are talking about" He says getting up to pour himself a drink. Something strong enough to make him forget. His throat is all so suddenly dry for no reason. "You know exactly what I mean. Don't mess up" Richard says before leaving the room. Amanda switches on the kettle and starts showing Lauren where to find some cookies and biscuits. The red head pauses to look at Amanda as a moves around the kitchen. Jaxon never liked domesticated women. He was always into pretty, petite models and never simple, sweet and kind women like Amanda. He liked the snobs, rich trust fund babies and now he is married and has three kids with this, this...."Lauren? Are you okay"? Amanda asks disturbing the train of thoughts going through Lauren's head. She genuinely looks worried and part of Lauren suddenly has doubts about this. "Lauren? I know it's stressful. But you need to stop overthinking. The guys will find your son. I promise" Amanda says, hesitantly rubbing Lauren's back smoothly and sort of, comfortingly. Everything about this girl is warm, kind, gentle and safe. Safe? Is that why Jaxon is with her? To avoid his true self? "Hey. Sit. The tea will get cold" Amanda says with a warm smile. Lauren pulls a barstool and sits next to the island. "Thank you. You are really, uh, nice" Lauren says in the most sincere voice she can muster. Amanda smiles at her and that earlier feeling of envy comes back to her but she wills it down in fear of Amanda noticing. "This is awkward" She suddenly says confusing Lauren. "What is awkward"? The latter asks. Amanda chuckles softly, "This. Us. Sitting like this. If anyone had told me a year ago I'd be sitting with The Lauren Wilson I would have probably booked them into an asylum". Lauren is not really surprised by what Amanda is saying but part of her wants to know how much Amanda knows about her. Does she know, everything? "I mean, I never thought I would meet Jaxon's wife like this" Lauren says with a dry chuckle. "But I feel compelled to ask, what did they tell you about me"? She asks and Amanda sighs deeply. This should be interesting. "Not much really, just that you and Jaxon were together and you slept with his brother" she says with a shrug. That isn't much, she thinks. Could Jaxon still be protecting her?
