Pink notebook

The door bell goes off signalling someone just came in. Petra, one of the girls working in the bakery goes to check. Amanda is working on a wedding cake for a 45 year old bridezilla who demands perfection, even though nothing can ever be perfectly perfect.

The cake is a four tier with a couple in each tier. The bride asked Amanda to tell a story with this cake, the four stages of the bride and groom's relationship. From when they had their first date, their first kiss, his proposal on a trip in Paris,to their wedding day. Now, the problem is not making the cake perfect, it is the detail. The outfits have to be exactly what they had on, on the particular days. There are pictures to refer to so it isn't particularly hard, but still.

"Amanda, someone is here for you" Petra states startling Amanda. The last thing she expected was someone to come looking for her instead of calling her. She gets up dusting her apron of the flour and goes to the front but what she finds leaves her astonished. "Hi. I know I am the last person you expected to see but I'm desperate. I'm sorry I turned up unannounced" the red haired girl states. In all honesty, she is the last person Amanda expected to see but it is understandable why she is here.

Amanda walks towards a far table and Lauren follows her quietly. They sit there, neither of them speaking. How do you conversate with your husband's ex girlfriend Amanda thinks but quickly reminds herself it is not about any of them but it is about the boy that is missing. "What did you need"? Amanda asks her. Honestly? She does not understand why Lauren came here, to her.

The latter seems to understand the turmoil happening in Amanda's mind. "Jax said he would call but he hasn't. I thought, maybe you could, I don't know. Convince him to help? He seems a bit reluctant and I am really desperate to find my child" Lauren says worriedly. All she has been doing is waiting, watching her phone so she does not miss Jaxon's call but he has not yet called her.

Amanda nods in understanding. Jaxon did say he would call Lauren but the prospect of the Ontario deal has completely distracted him. "I know. Work came up and it is too important to ignore, that's why he has not called yet. We are also waiting for Richie to come home so we can work together to find your son" Amanda clarifies calmly.

She notices the look of confusion on Lauren's face and quickly explains, "We do not do anything unless the all the brothers are here. Unfortunately my brothers refused to have any part in this so we only have Richard and Antonio on our side". Richard, the one man who made sure Lauren stays away from Jaxon all those years ago. Lauren doubts Richard knows exactly what is going on, he would not want to help her.

"Richard hates me. He will not want to help me" she tells Amanda sadly. Now all her hopes of things going right are thrown out. This was bound to fail, she should have never bothered to come here. "I told Richie you needed help and he agreed to help you find your son" Amanda states.

"He knows it is me"? Lauren asks confusedly. "Yes. I told him it was you" Amanda says with a shrug.

They really do like this girl, Lauren thinks and this makes her realise the difference between her and Amanda. Jaxon's friends never liked her even though Jaxon himself loved her to death but with Amanda, it is so easy for them to love her. So much that they would help her at Amanda's request.

Petra rushes toward them with a ringing phone in her hand and quickly hands it to Amanda who answers it immediately.

By the way Amanda's face lightens up, Lauren can tell Jaxon is on the other side of the call and this makes her insides churn and she feels displeased and a bit jealous of the couple. She cannot even hear Amanda speak with all the thoughts racing through her head. What wakes her up from her thoughts is Amanda shaking her shoulder with a worried look.

"Are you okay"? Amanda asks her and she swallows the lump in her throat forcing herself to nod, even though she is not okay. "What did you use to get here"? The girl asks and Lauren is a bit confused but quickly realises what Amanda means. "I drove the rental car" she says. "Then I guess you'll follow me then. The guys are waiting at home" Amanda says walking away to get her belongings.

"Please put away my things I will continue with the cake tomorrow" Amanda tells Petra before motioning for Lauren to follow her. They both get in their cars, Amanda's car being a Jeep Jaxon got for her birthday this year. After her kids, this car has to be her favorite thing from him. The two women drive back to the Scott's house and Amanda notices Tristan's car in the driveway. This cannot be good.

They walk inside the house and the guys are talking and laughing loudly about something but the room immediately goes quiet as soon as they notice Lauren. Amanda feels ashamed at the looks they are giving her but what can she do? She chooses to avoid the tension by welcoming her brothers back. Tristan and Richard have both been gone in search of Alexander but separately which is why it is surprising to see them both back at the same time.

"What is she doing here"? Antonio asks and Amanda glares at him. "Lauren was at the bakery with me when Jax called". Jaxon looks at Lauren with a lot of emotions on his face but he quickly masks them with anger and disgust. "I missed you" he says pulling his wife away from Tristan who groans in response. "Now I can't bond with my sister because of a man that stays with her every flipping day"? He asks but it falls on deaf ears because Jaxon kisses his wife, ignoring everyone else in the room.

"Alright that's enough adult content you two. We have work to do" Antonio says breaking them apart. Everyone sits down while Toni pulls out a notebook and starts asking Lauren questions. "When last did you see your son"? She clears her throat before responding to him. "About four months ago, Alexander picked him up for his weekend visit but did not bring him back Monday after school. I kept calling and asking him when he will bring my son back and he kept making excuses until he finally stopped answering my calls".

Tristan snorts and crosses his arms. "So you do not know where your baby daddy lives"? He asks her. "I went to his house but I only found the guards and they refused to tell me where he had gone" she explains. She starts to feel anxious with how Tristan and Richard are looking at her, it is almost as if they can see her soul at this point. But what screams loudly is their apparent disgust at her. "How else have you tried searching for them"? Antonio asks and she chooses to face him directly, he is the only one that is not looking at her like he would kill her right here and now.

"I went to the police to file a missing person's report. They did look for him until they realised who his father was. Then suddenly the officer in charge of the case would be busy all the time until the file went missing". Alexander is immensely feared back in their city. He is their equivalent to God and no one dares step on his toes. "Do you have any idea of any other properties he owns"? Antonio asks her and she nods taking out a notebook of her own.

She hands Antonio the pink notebook and he flips through it. His eyes immediately shoot up as he stares at Jaxon with shock. "What's up"? Tristan asks and Antonio tosses the book to him. "How legit is this"? Tristan asks and Lauren struggles to look at him but responds nonetheless. "I copied all that information from his black book" she says. "This has all his contacts, businesses, allies, addresses and even bank accounts. We got him".
