"Everything is going according to plan...... I don't know, Jaxon still wants me....Yes yes I know that. Heck I don't want him but I have to play along right?..... Of course..... He's here?.... Oh good.... I can't wait to finally be done with this so I can get back to my husband and kids..... Yes I know I know.... They know about Levy so I think it's game time now...... Fine.... I'll call you once I have more news....cool". Lauren hangs up her little phone and places it back where she keeps it hidden from the world. Things are finally going her way now and soon, she can leave and go back to her family.
Jaxon's phone rings from the side table and Amanda's face pops up on the screen making the red head smile to herself. If she knew this mission would be so easy she would have done this a long time ago. All she needs to do is answer the phone and just like that, Amanda will know Jaxon was here last night. Which....would make her angry. "Hello"? She answers with the softest, sweetest voice she can muster. "Lauren? Why do you have Jaxon's phone"? Amanda asks making the woman's smile grow wider. "He forgot it here last night when he left" she tells her. "Oh that's alright. I'll have someone come pick it up. Thank you. We thought he had lost it" Amanda says, relief evident in her voice.
Lauren is left surprised at Amanda's response. She expected her to be angry or surprised anything but not this response. "Uhm, it's okay I can bring the phone to your house if that is okay with you" she tells her and again, Amanda shocks her with her response. "That would be awesome thank you. I'd like to see you anyway but please let me know once you are on your way, I need to go out soon" she says and the smile fades away from Lauren's face. How is Amanda not angry right now? How is she so calm?
Amanda hangs up the phone as soon as she says her goodbyes and stares at her phone with a sigh. Now she really needs to go see her twin brother. He is the only one who can help her with this little situation, the older ones might go to jail and she does not want that. She has a plan and she will not let it fail. Never. But for now, she will play the good wife...and take Jaxon's lunch to his office. He did not have time for breakfast as Amanda received a call from Martha letting her know that the rep from the Ontario company was waiting for Jaxon in the office.
Amanda drives to the office, parking in her designated 'CEO's wife spot' and immediately a guard is there to open her door for her. "Good Afternoon Mrs Scott. Here for your husband"? He asks politely with the brightest smile. "Yes I am. If not, he will never eat" she replies and they both laugh as he helps her get on the elevator. He doesn't have to, but nothing gives him greater joy than helping Amanda. Everyone in this building loves Amanda to death, so much that she has been banned from using the private elevator which leads directly to Jaxon's office.
She gets off on the top floor greeting everyone in her way as she always does. It always takes a lifetime to get inside the office but eventually she gets in front of the door and knocks. Jaxon calls her in and she walks inside with the prettiest of smiles on her face. "I am sorry to disturb, I brought your lunch" she tells her husband, who smiles and gets up to hug her. "I want to introduce you to someone, This is Xavier Andrews, from Traveler Trades. Xavier this is my beautiful wife, Amanda" he introduces them but the two look at each other in shock before Amanda bursts out laughing.
Jaxon looks at her confused and is even more confused when Xavier himself starts laughing. "Oh we have already met" Amanda says. "How"? Jaxon asks looking between the two of them. "I was actually at the bakery yesterday and this lovely lady showed me to the coolest pizza place" Xavier explains. "Oh.. I see. Xavier, give me and my wife a minute please" Jaxon says and Xavier nods with a smile. They go into the boardroom which is attached to Jaxon's office and he closes the door and blinds before turning around looking at her with rage.
"What's up with you"? Amanda asks him and he throws his hands in the air. "What's up with me? You went out with a complete stranger Amanda. Do you know how unsafe that is? He could have been working for Alexander and you showed him a flipping pizza place"!? He whisper shouts but Amanda does not even seem to care, in fact she seems rather bored with him. "Well dearest husband. There is no way I can be 'unsafe' with the million and one guards you put around me. Thought I wouldn't notice any of them"? She asks with a shrug and he sighs in defeat.
"They are highly noticable, so even if Alexander were to send someone to get me, I'm pretty sure he has noticed all those buff men with the same tattoo following me around not so discreetly" she says crossing her arms. "Okay I'm sorry. I knew you would not agree to having guards that's why I sent them" he tells her and she nods. "Anyway, Lauren will be bringing your phone back home soon so I need to get home and wait for her" she tells him with no emotion whatsoever in her face. How did she know? Did Lauren tell her what happened? Why is she so calm? Jaxon's head bursts with questions that he cannot even voice out.
"I was trying to call you earlier and she answered and offered to bring it over. So no my love, you did not lose your phone anywhere. It's safe okay"? She tells him with a smile and hugs his waist. He freezes for a moment before regaining himself and hugging her back. "Thank you baby. I forgot I went to see her last night. I just needed more information about Alexander. Anything to help us find him" he tells her and she nods. "That's okay my love. Anything to find Alexander. Now, let me go say goodbye to my new friend and get going okay"? She tells him and he pulls her for a kiss, which she returns but quickly pushes him away and walks out.
"Well Xavier, I guess we will be seeing more of each other considering you are now my husband's business partner" she says and the latter smirks. "Guess you are forced to be my friend now" he says and she laughs at him. "You should join us for dinner sometime. Bring your mom"? She asks and his smile grows wider, especially seeing the grim expression on Jaxon's face. "Of course. We'll be sure to drop in. Tomorrow night"? He asks and Amanda beams. "Yes please. That house gets boring with the kids staying with their grandparents. Make it seven"? And they agree.
"Babe, you said you had somewhere to be" Jaxon points out and the woman jumps, "Oh yes. Lauren. See you later" she says rushing out leaving one happy man and one very, very upset man.
