The story was based on a true catastrophic event that happen to one village in the North-Eastern part of India in the year 1994 when a devastating storm occurred in the village leaving behind remnants of destroyed houses and many people succumbed to injuries and one person died due to the unpredictable natural calamity. The village was actually my own hometown and I was just 8 years old when the storm occurred. It was during one Sunday night when the church service was just over and when everyone just reached home, and suddenly a swarm of insects flew inside doors and I clearly remember at that moment when my mother said, ‘something bad is going to happen tonight’. She also told everyone to be ready with warm clothes and torch lights. More and more insects flew in as time passed by and within two hours, we could hear the rumbling sound of thunder and my mother went outside just to see the sky and to her astonishment, the whole sky turned red and then everyone came back inside doors and went to bed except my mother because to her belief, the devil that caused the storm would be embarrassed if it has to face a challenge against a walking human. It was not long when the huge storm came and destroyed almost everything on its way that even huge rocks and the wall outside our house was destroyed and when the storm was over we could hear people crying for help as they were left injured at some places or the other. The whole village was left barren with so many remnants of destroyed houses being left on every corner of the village and all people were left in shock. The catastrophic event did not end just for one night even though the storm was calmer as nights passed by and people were left in fear and kept gazing towards the southern sky when it turned red every evening, thinking about what could happen next.
