Emily jumped out of the car, startled by the sight of Simile running toward the car. She rushed to meet her. “What is it? What’s wrong?” She was sure nothing had happened since they’d said goodbye that morning, and she hadn’t felt a thing from Simile that suggested something was wrong. “Braid, hold up, Andy will join you today, I need Emily.” “Okay, sure.” Braid frowned. “What’s wrong?” “I’d like to know too,” Emily said. “Nothing, I just need Em for the day.” She smiled into Emily’s eyes. “An ‘us’ day.” “I have work, babe, I can’t take a day.” “Sure, you can, Andy can help me with today’s things. Go, we’ll be okay.” Braid said with a laugh. “Okay, I guess that’s fine then.” “Good, come on.” Simile grabbed her hand and tugged her toward the house. “We need to change first.”
