“ATTENTION.” I clicked my heels together and stood ramrod straight. Ma’am strode back and forth in front of us, inspecting our uniforms. She insisted on making sure all our parade dress uniforms were in order before the VIP arrival in two days’ time. Seriously, aren’t we all adults who can dress ourselves? All this means for me is that now I’ll have to wash, dry, and iron my shirt again tonight because I’ve sweated right through it. I might be able to salvage the pants if I get changed back into my tarmac dress uniform immediately after parade, but it’s already too late for the shirt.
