Waking up the next morning in Bryan’s arms was amazing. I don’t know how I will ever be able to sleep without him again.
“Good Morning.” I opened my eyes to see him staring at me.
“Good Morning. How long have you been staring at me?”
Laughing, he smiled down at me. “About a half hour.”
“Creeper.” I watched as he laughed even harder.
“Only for you babe. Come on, let’s get dressed and have breakfast before we head back to your parents.”
“I have no idea where my clothes ended up last night.”
“I had your Mom pack you a bag.”
“They knew we were going to…..”
“Babe, we are mates and you are 18 years old. Don’t worry so much.”
“Bryan, do you, I mean are you, have you ever?” I couldn’t form a sentence but I really wanted to know.
“Are you asking if I have ever had s*x?”
I shook my head yes, afraid my embarrassment would show if I tried to talk.
“No I haven’t.”
I was shocked. “Really?”
“Yep, through high school I was a bit obsessed with sports. I have problems with hyper-focusing. Anyway, I never really paid attention to girls until I met my mate. I am not going to lie. We messed around the first couple nights until I took her home.”
He stopped and his eyes glazed over. I took his hand in mine and he started again.
“After my brother positioned her to be his, she slept with him the following day. After that, I hit a dark place. I didn’t think I deserved to be happy or that I could be happy again. Becoming an Elite meant if I lost my life protecting my King, then my life would mean something.”
I placed a soft kiss on his cheek. “Your life means everything to me.”
“You brought me back to old Bryan before I met her. I hadn’t laughed or really smiled in years. I wasn’t as strong as you.”
“Are you kidding me? I was not strong. I had you.”
“You are a lot stronger than you realize. The fact you walked away and accepted the rejection. Did you see him walk away after he rejected you?”
“No.”
“Cause I have never known of somebody being able to walk away like you did. The pain is intense and you don’t recover that quickly but you did.”
“It’s because I had you.”
“ OK babe if that is what you want to think.” He kissed me on my head and we got up to get ready to head home.
Lucas’s POV
Listening to Yara talk, I wondered how we made it this long. Maybe it was just the wedding but she was driving me crazy. My thoughts kept going back to Liv. What was she doing right now? Was she with him? Was she happy?
“What do you think?” She asked, looking up at me with her pretty eyes. I remember getting lost in those eyes, but now they just seemed pretty nothing to get lost in. Not like Liv’s.
“About what?” I didn’t mean to sound irritated, but she was driving me crazy.
“Are you even listening to me? About having people release doves when we leave the hall?”
“Fu$k how much will that cost? Can’t they just throw rice or whatever?”
“Money shouldn’t matter on our special day. And it’s not like your family can’t afford it.”
“Yeah, it’s my family paying for everything and I feel like you are taking advantage of it.”
“The future Luna deserves it.”
The future Luna should have been Liv and I knew she wouldn’t be like Yara.
“I can’t deal with this s**t right now.” I stood up and walked towards the door.
“Where are you going?”
Pulling on my pants and shirt I turned and looked at her feeling disgusted that I had just slept with her.
“Away from you I will see you tonight at Thanksgiving dinner.”
I slammed the door behind me.
**Mind Link**
“Loki what the hell have I done?”
“You lost mate and we are finally seeing the real Yara.”
“How did she hide this side of herself for so long?”
“Maybe she didn’t and now that you seen your mate you realize what you really want.”
“Enough Loki! I don’t have a choice now.”
