Sunday morning came way too fast. I rolled over and buried my head in the nook of Bryan’s neck.
I was surprised when my parents said he could stay with me in my room. I was starting to think they liked him more than me.
“Good Morning.”
“Good Morning princess.”
“Bryan, can I ask you a question?”
“Anything.”
“Would you be upset if I wanted to go on birth control and wait till we were married too mate?”
“Not at all. I figured you would want to finish the academy before pups. But you know birth control is only about 80% effective on wolves.”
“I know and if I get pregnant with that 20% it was meant to be, but I would like to finish the Elite academy.”
“When do you want to get married?”
“As soon as possible!”
Laughing, he pulled me closer. “Me too, Me too.”
“We get a month off for Christmas so I was thinking I don’t want to share a wedding with Lucas and Yara, plus who has a wedding on a holiday?”
“How about the weekend following the first of the year?”
“Perfect! But I want a small wedding.”
“I am OK with a small wedding.”
I kissed him quickly and jumped out of bed and started getting dressed.
“Where are you going?”
“I need to go see the pack doctor and then tell my mom so we can go dress shopping. I have to get it picked out before we go back to the academy.”
He laughed and put his hands behind his head. “Just be back here by 11 so we can go to the meeting with Alpha Edward.
I kissed him again. “I will. Love you!”
“Love you too.”
I rushed to the pack doctor and quickly got birth control. I will take about 3 weeks after my next period for it to be effective, but the great news was it would be effective by my wedding.
As soon as I was done, I made my way back to my house. I found my Mom sitting at the kitchen table drinking her tea.
“Hey Mom.”
“Hey pumpkin. You just missed your Dad, Oli, and Bryan.”
“That’s OK, I wanted to talk to you.”
“Oh OK honey what is it?”
"Bryan and I picked the Saturday after the first of the year to get married. I want a small wedding but"
“Oh my gosh! We need to go dress shopping. We will go tomorrow. Sit down. We need to make a list.” She jumped up and ran out of the room and was back in a minute.
“ OK, let’s get started on what you want and I will make it happen. You won’t be able to do much over the next three weeks.”
That is how I spent the next hour. My mother asked questions and I told her what I would want.
Before I knew it, Dad, Bryan and Oli walked in the door.
“Hey babe, you ready?” Bryan said, kissing me.
“Yes.”
We made our way to Alpha’s office, as I explained, the last hour that I spent with my mom.
Before I could knock on the door, “Come in.” Alpha Edward said through the door.
Bryan and I entered the room to find Alpha Edward, Alpha Mason, Wyatt, Lucas, and
Owen. The room had a thick feeling of tension.
“Liv, Bryan, please come in and have a seat.”
We found the only seats open were across from Lucas.
“I will get right to the point. For years there has been peace for werewolves. The occasional rogue attack, but mostly peace. We have heard of an uprising of rogues…..and it seems to be they are working with witches. We don’t know a lot as of now, but we know that we don’t feel ready. Training has diminished over the years and we could use help.”
“Is that why you asked Oli to join the pack?”
“I won’t lie, it helped but he fits with our pack and I know he is important to you. A little bit of me is afraid you won’t come back after you are done with the Elite Academy.”
“And you are thinking about asking Demetri as well?”
“Yes. Again, I know he is important to you and if I thought I could get Mateo I would ask him too.”
I looked at Bryan and he nodded yes. “ OK, we are in. If there is a war, we will fight with your pack.”
The tension eased and smiles fell upon the three Alphas.
“I want to offer Demetri a place in this pack. His parents are welcome here if he decides to be part of the pack.”
I nodded and we placed the call to Demetri. I wasn’t sure if he would say yes, but I would love to have him here with me too.
Alpha dialed the number and we all waited in silence for him to answer.
