Chapter 25

“Hello?”

“Hey Demetri, it’s me Liv and you are on speaker phone with my Alpha. How are you? I miss you like crazy.”

“I am good Olivia and I miss you like crazy too. How is Oli?”

“He is good. Loving the attention he is getting from the ladies.”

He laughed. “Sounds about right.”

“Demetri my Alpha would like to know if we moved your parents to our pack. Would you be interested in joining his pack? My pack?”

Silence filled the room.

“My parents would be welcome on pack land?”

Alpha Edwards answered. “They would also be a part of this pack. We would protect them and treat them as one of our own.”

“Yes. I will join your pack.”

I was surprised by how quickly he responded.

“I will get housing set up and get them moved here as soon as possible. I will have somebody call in the morning with the details.”

“Thank you Alpha Edward.”

“I should be thanking you.” Alpha Edward looked over at me. “Is there anything else you wanted to say?”

I nodded. “Demetri, Bryan and I picked a date for our wedding. The Saturday following the first of the year.”

“That is great, Liv. Call me tomorrow and you can tell me all about it. I miss you.”

“I will.”

After ending the call, I couldn’t help but to look over at Lucas. He looked sad and a small part of me hurt for him.

“Liv, is everything else OK?”

I looked over at Alpha Edward. “Yes, Alpha, everything is great. Why?”

“I talked to Dr. Devaul and he said you came to see him this morning.”

“Oh yeah it’s nothing.”

“It can’t be nothing if you needed to see the Doctor,” Lucas said in a bit of panic in his voice.

“Thank you for your concern, but I am fine.”

“If you need a doctor you are not fine.” Lucas pushed.

I looked over at Bryan and he looked calm and not bothered at all. He just smiled.

“Well, if you must know, I went to the doctor for birth control. Since I am a virgin, we are waiting till we get married and I would like to finish the Elite Academy before pups.”

I watched as his face turned red and then his eyes turned black. I couldn’t help but chuckle. “So, as I said, I am fine.”

Moments later, there was a knock at the door and in came Luna Lila. I watched Alpha Edward give her a kiss before her eyes landed on me.

“Liv, I have great news. I got an appointment at a local place in town to go dress shopping. Your Mom is on her way.”

“Oh, Luna, you didn’t have to do that for me. I really just want a simple dress. I don’t need anything crazy.”

“I know, so I booked it with a small local place.”

Bryan pulled my hand to his. “You know money is not an issue love. I will buy you whatever you want.”

I smiled, “I know Bryan, but I don’t want anything crazy. Marrying you is all I want. The rest doesn’t really matter.”

“Oh Lucas! How is Yara doing dress shopping in Paris? Goodness Liv, the two of you are completely opposite.” Luna Lila said, smiling at me.

I smiled and looked over at Lucas and Alpha Mason. From the look on Alpha Mason’s face, I did not want to be Lucas.

“Actually, I haven’t talked to her. She had a nonstop flight and arrived on Friday evening. My beta heard from his mate who is her maid of honor, but Yara didn’t call me.”

“Oh dear is everything ok?”

“Yeah, we are perfect. She was just really tired from the flight.”

“That was two days ago, son, and you haven’t talked to her since?” Alpha Mason seemed surprised. “I had better check my credit card statement.”

“Dad, I am sure it’s fine. I will call her as soon as the meeting is over, OK?”

Alpha Mason just grumbled.

“Well, let’s go, Liv. Bryan can spend some time with Wyatt and the others while we steal you away.”

I kissed Bryan before being ushered out of the room.

Bryan’s POV

I honestly didn’t want to spend time with Lucas. I have learned to control my feelings by being an Elite but I just didn’t like him.

“Dude, you are the luckiest wolf, Liv is so hot.” I looked over at the soon-to-be Alpha Owen.

“I know, but be careful of how you talk about my mate.”

“Sorry, I mean no disrespect. She is just perfect. I still can’t get over her mate rejecting her.”

“I’m glad he wasn’t man enough of a wolf to keep her.” I said, smiling over at Lucas. I could see him trying to hold back his wolf and failing.

“You know what I don’t get?” Wyatt jumped in.

“What”

“I know Liv told you I was in love with her, right?” I nodded for him to continue. “I had been in love with her since we were 2 if I am being honest. I didn’t care about a mate I had always wanted Liv. Then I met my mate. As much as I wanted to stay with Liv I couldn’t, I needed my mate.”

“Maybe you didn’t love her as much as you thought?” Lucas decided to add his opinion.

“No I did, I still love her, but the mate bond is stronger and, to be honest, my mate is perfect for me. But Liv will always be family to me.

I had to calm down, Duke, with all the talk of Liv. I wanted to be mad but I get why they were all obsessed with her.

“You have to be really selfish to not even try with your mate.” Owen added.

“ It doesn’t matter anymore because she is mine and there is nothing her first mate can do to ever get her back.”

“What if he tried? What if he realized how stupid he had been?” Lucas said, trying to get a rise out of me.

I leaned back in my seat and smiled at him. “He could try, but here is the thing. I have respected her from the day I first met her. I have spent the last six months loving her and watching her fall in love with me before the mate bond. We are in love, like that kind of love that they write about in books. So he could try, but I won’t ever let her go.”

I watched as he took in what I had just said.

“Her first mate would have a stronger bond with her.” Lucas said with a smirk, but I could see he was losing control.

I could keep in my laugh. “Our bond it already strong. I’m not worried.”

“You should be. I want her back.” He snapped.

The entire room looked at him.

“Wait, you are her first mate?” Wyatt said in disbelief.

“Yes and I fu$ked up and I want her back.”

Before I could say anything, Wyatt jumped across the room and started punching Lucas in the face. It took a minute for Owen and I to react before we pulled him off of a very bloody Lucas.

“Wyatt, this is not what Liv would want. She didn’t tell anybody it was him for a reason.” I said, trying to calm Wyatt down. I mean I was happy he punched Lucas, but I know Liv and she would be upset.

Wyatt started to calm down and Owen helped Lucas to his feet. “I deserved that but I promise I will make it up to her and I will get her back.” Lucas said, wiping the blood from his face.

“She is mine.” I could feel myself wanting to lose control. I decided it was time for me to get out of here.
