Chapter 4

720 Words
I spent the next 4 hours with the pack warriors letting out all of my embarrassment, frustration, and anger. By the time I was done, I was exhausted and made my way home. Before I made it to the back door, my Dad caught me on the back porch. “Hey pumpkin.” “Oh hey Dad.” “You were intense today.” “I am just focusing, I leave in 3 days for the Elite.” “It doesn’t have anything to do with your Mate?” “Noah told you.” “Actually, Wyatt asked me how I felt about you being with him.” “Oh” “Do you want to talk about it?” “What is there to talk about?” “I know I have taught you not to show emotion, but you don’t have to be strong about your mate rejecting you.” “He didn’t even finish the job.” “What are you going to do?’ “I am going to move on and live my life Dad. I am sure if we ever cross paths again he will finish the rejection and I can fully move on.” “How does a thick chocolate milkshake sound?” “Just us?” “Yes Pumpkin, Just us.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Spending time with my Dad went too fast. We never spend time together unless it's training. I spend even less time with my Mom, but like I said, she was always busy with the twins. They were in a gifted school and always doing something spectacular. Recently they taught themselves how to play piano. So now Mom is busy running them to lessons. By the time we got home, dinner was ready and I sat and listened to how the twins are now working on a fourth language to learn and how the twins are skipping the freshman year and starting high school as sophomores. After dinner, I headed to bed. I didn’t want to hear anymore about the twins. I love my brothers, but when it's all your Mom talks about, it can get really old really fast. After a quick shower, I pulled out my bag to make sure I was ready for the Elite Training. I didn’t need to take much. They have uniforms for us and training clothes. We only had Sunday’s as free days and we weren’t allowed to leave the campus. “It hasn’t changed since the last 3 times you checked.” I turned quickly to see Wyatt standing in my doorway. “I know I just like to be ready.” “How about we go for a run?” “mmmm you always know how to sweet talk me.” We headed outside and shifted and took off at a sprint. I loved the feeling of wind through my fur. After a while, we came to our spot. Wyatt and I found a little brook when we were younger and we would always take runs and end up there. We had a stash of clothes because we came here so often. We shifted back and got dressed, taking a seat next to each other by the brook. “Its really beautiful here.” “Yeah it is.” Wyatt said, but was looking right at me. “Liv, I have to ask you something.” “Ok” “I want to know if you will give me a chance?” “ Wyatt….. tell you what, if you don’t find your mate by the time I complete my Elite training, then I will be yours, but you have to promise me that if you find your mate you will be with her.” “Deal.” Before I could say anything else, he was kissing me. It was soft and sweet, but it wasn’t like kissing my mate and as much as I loved kissing him, I wanted him to find his mate. Why couldn't I just be selfish and make him mine? He pulled away and smiled at me. “I have been waiting to do that for years.” We sat in silence for some time before heading back to the house. He kissed me again and I made my way to my room with Wyatt on my mind.
