Disaster

“What kind of country is this? Since the emergency number was called there not yet here”! One of the Men exclaimed.

“Jade wake up wake up”! Celine and Sophia said to Jade. “What kind of a sudden disaster is this? Jade please wake up...I can't beat this”! Sophia said to Jade as she cried along with Celine.

“Fetch some water! Pour it on her body”! An old woman amongst them said to Sophia. Sophia did as she was said. She brought out a bottle of water and poured on Sophia's face. Celine continuously looked at the body of their parents, Jane and Jason as tears gushed out from their head.

Jade woke up but she was still unconscious. “I can't live without my twin sister. I'll rather due with her”! Jade said. “No one said she's dead. Stop talking about death”! Celine shouted at Jade. “Huh..do you think they'll survive”?! Sophia asked Celine. “I don't know” Celine said turning her back at them. “Who am I going to wear matching outfits with”? Jade asked.

“Take her to the clinic” The Old woman said to some men around their. Jane was taken to the nearby clinic. To take some drugs.

One of Jason's Dad's brother, Uncle John ran into the compound immediately. “Have you finally killed him”?! He shouted at Celine as he entered the compound. Celine hares Uncle John the most.

A sound of a sirene was heard this time around, it's the Emergency number 911 that was called. They entered the compound with their bus. Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at the bus. Five men and a lady came down from the bus. They were five Nigerian's and a Chinese amongst them. They went straight to the place where the car was packed and brought down their bodies.

Their bodies were taken into the bus.

One of the Men, Doctor Chen as he introduced himself is a Chinese doctor who works in Nigeria. “Sorry for the inconvenience we were attending an issue earlier when we received a call from you guys. We are really sorry” He said to Celine. “Are you sure they are gonna survive. Are they gonna wake up again”? Celine asked Dr.Chen as tears flowed down her cheeks.

“There is a probability that they might survive or die. There has been many cases like this and the people survived. I hope your's will be like them. But, I promise you that we're gonna try our best as much as possible” Dr.Chen said to Celine. “Please which hospital are they being taken to”? Celine asked Dr.Chen. “Chenga hospital in Apo along gwarimpa. You can visit them there” Mr.Chen said to Celine. “Thank you so much” Celine said to Dr.Chen bending down her head. Mr.Chen entered the bus and they left the compound. Sophia cried even more now.

“What did the oyibo man say...where is my brother Kingsley. Have your Mum killed him for Me ”? Uncle Ben asked Celine. Oyibo means a white Man. Uncle Ben never liked Jason's Mum from the day she adopted Celine. “Uncle please stop all this. You actually saw there was a fire explosion here. We weren't the only one that was affected. This is probably an unexpected disaster why are are you blaming it on our Mother...How did we offend you”? Celine asked Uncle Ben as she used her hand stop wipe of her tears.

“Our Mother ..you say? Look at this orphan that was picked from a motherless babies home Who her Mother probably left by the roadside”! Uncle Ben said to Celine. Everywhere went silent. The people crying because of the incident stopped crying in order to know what was happening. “She's an orphan? Motherless babies home? Dropped by the roadside”? The people kept Murmuring amongst each other.

Sophia couldn't believe that all this while who she was calling her elder sister isn't even related to her. Celine felt broken.

She never knew she was an orphan until the age of twelve when she was going through the documents in there house and picked up a paper. Just to find out that she has a different surname from the others. She read through the paper. “Aisha Celine Ibe. Motherless babies home Apo, Abuja. Nigeria. Signed Mr and Mrs Chike Kingsley” She read out. She cried throughout the night but she didn't want to ask anyone about it. She was very surprised to find out that someone else knows about it apart from her and Jason's Parents.

“Uncle what's your problem? Why are you hurting Celine this much. Is she the cause of your Misfortune”? Sophia asked Uncle Ben. “What do you mean by misfortune”? Uncle Ben asked Sophia. “You keep acting like your family is perfect. Meanwhile, the most notorious criminal in this Town is your Son. I wonder when you'll stop covering up for him”! Sophia shouted at Uncle Ben. Uncle Ben was surprised, he didn't know that Sophia can say something like that to him.

“Shut up your mouth! If I hear any word from you, am going to slap out that twenty four set of teeth's in your mouth” Uncle Ben said to Sophia.

“Can you be a little kind to this children”? Uncle Ben's wife asked him. “That's none of your business Woman”! He replied to her. “Whatever...which hospital were they taken to”? Uncle Ben's Wife asked Celine. “Why are you asking? Do you want to go there”? Her husband asked her. “Why not..I need to go see...” She couldn't complete what she was saying Uncle Ben cut in sharply. “If I see you step out your leg from our compound going to that hospital, I promise you I'll make sure I cut them for you. I don't even care if you're my wife or not” Uncle Ben said to his wife.

Celine couldn't stand there any longer. She turned her back to leave the compound. “Sister Celine where are you going to”? Celine asked her. “Do me a favour. Don't look for me” She said as she made an attempt to leave. “Look for something better to do with your life than to go around composing rubbish songs or more or else GO AND GET MARRIED”! Uncle Ben shouted at Celine. “She's just Seventeen”! Uncle Ben's Wife said to him.

Celine went straight to Uncle Ben's face. “Am going to watch you insult be for being an orphan, or being picked from a motherless babies home or picked up from the roadside or the streets. But guess what? Am never going to allow you insult my music or the my career or whatever I want to do with my life because that has nothing to do with you” Celine said to Uncle Ben as she pointed her finger at him. “You don't even have a respect for your elders” Uncle Ben said to Celine.

“You don't act like an elder. So you don't deserve a respect”!! Celine said to Uncle Ben as she turned and left the compound immediately crying at the same time. “What she said is right”! Sophia said to Uncle Ben. “Look at this insolent little thing” Uncle Ben said to Sophia making an attempt to kick her but his wife held him back. Sophia ran to the Clinic where Jade Was being taken to thinking that she would see Celine.

Celine went to a bar not to far away from their house. She sat on a seat in front of the bar. “What have I done to deserve all this? Did I make myself an orphan to suffer this much”? Celine asked herself. “When I thought I finally found peace all this sh*t started happening again. I was even bullied by my fellow students. What kid of a disaster is this? Now what's gonna happen to Mom, Dad, Jason and Jade”? Celine asked herself.

“Want some drink”? The sommelier working in the bar asked Celine. “No...thanks am a minor. I don't take alcohol” Celine replied to the sommelier. “Who still talks about a minor not taking an alcohol. Besides, Everyone has their own worries alcohol help them get over it” The sommelier replied to Celine. “No Thanks. it's harmful” Celine said to the sommelier.

“I heard you were one of the tenants that live in the house that the incident occurred” The sommelier said to Celine. Celine nodded her head in approval. “Ohh... You're the orphan who was picked my the roadside and then taken to the motherless babies home” The Sommelier said to Celine laughing. Celine stood up wanting to puch her in the face.

Someone held her hands from her back. “Celine don't do this” Uncle John said to her holding her hands. “Uncle.. John” She called out to him. “Was she trying to hit me? So dangerous. I wonder who gave rights to her”! The sommelier said to Celine as she left her table.

“Uncle join why do you always show up in a situation like this”? Celine asked BrotherJohn. “Come outside let's talk” Uncle John said to Celine.

“I heard what happened earlier” Brother John said to Celine. Celine looked up at him. “I know the kind of person that Uncle Ben is. You need to stop taking his words serious or think about anything he tells you. About your choice if career, It's your choice and your life it's left for you to decide. Don't let anyone bring you down or make you stoop low to their service. Believe in yourself. The incident that occured this night it's not your fault. Don't mid what anyone tells you. Besides, Some of the neighbors and their family got burnt by the fire. Live your life the way you know it's right. Focus on what you're doing. Okay”? BrotherJohn said to Celine.

“Thanks Uncle. I love the way you always comfort me” Celine said toBrotherJohn. “You're welcome. Let's go home so that you can freshen us and change your clothes” Uncle John said to Her. “Which house”? Celine asked Him. “You guys can sleep over at mine. Besides Jade and Sophia are in my house now” Uncle John said to Celine. “Okay” Celine replied.

Celine and Uncle John arrived in the house. When Jade and Sophia saw Celine, they hugged each other and started crying uncontrollably. “You guys can freshen up. Let's go to the hospital” BrotherJohn said to them. They were very excited.

“We're done, Brother” They said in unison to their Uncle John. “Why do you guys call me Brother. I should be called Uncle” Brother John said to them. “That's because you're still young. Are you not just 25 years old”? Sophia asked him. “Oh..that doesn't matter thou” Brother John said to them “Let's go then”Brother John said to then.

They arrived at the hospital at 11:05 pm in the night. “That's the Doctor. Mr.Chen” Celine said running towards him. “How is my parents and siblings”? Celine asked the doctor.

Mr.Chen didn't reply. “Please say something” Celine begged him. “Are you with any relative”? Mr.Chen asked Celine. “Yes. Am here” Brother John replied to Mr.Chen. “See me in my office” Mr.Chen said to Brother John and and Brother John followed him.

They arrived in the office. “Although there are still in the operating room. But there is a chance that Jane might not survive. Jason is regaining consciousness” Mr.Chen said to Brother John. Brother John felt sad for Jane. “What about their parent's”? Brother John asked Mr.Chen. “They haven't woken up yet. But we're gonna try out best. This is the hospital bill” Mr.Chen said giving Brother John the hospital bill.

Brother John came out of the office. “How are they”? Celine, Sophia and Jade asked Brother John in unison. “They are still in the operating room. But there's a good news” Brother John said to them. “What's the good news”? They asked Brother John. “Jason has woken up but he's still regaining consciousness” Brother John said to them.

They were very happy. “Can we see them now”? They asked Brother John. “No..not yet. The doctor said tomorrow” Brother John replied. “Let's go home”Uncle John said to them. “No... I'll stay”! Celine said to Brother John. “Really...okay then” Uncle John said to her. They left while Celine stayed in the hospital.

She stopped herself from falling asleep. The nurses ran out if the operating room where they were attending to Jane. Celine woke up immediately. “Doctor! Doctor”!! They shouted as they came out. “What's the problem”?! Mr.Chen asked them. “She's getting worse”! The Nurse shouted. The Nurse didn't know that Celine is related to Jane.

Jane felt devastated. She started crying again. “Jane..Jane”!! She kept shouting.
