Chapter 19 Presenting the Evidence

Dominic's POV

This is the worst car ride ever. I can't stop growling, I try to hold it back so it's just a rumbling in my chest appointed at Ashleigh's father. I want to murder this man who put my mate through so much pain. What kind of a person sells his daughter's virginity and body to pay off his debts?! A f*#ked up kind of person, that's who. He is just lucky that Ashleigh is in between us.. for now.

"Baby it's ok... I'm ok because I'm with you now... I know what he did was wrong but we need the extra help just in case.. please be nice." Ashleigh says almost purring that statement into my ear. Her hand goes to my chest. I press my hand on top of hers, holding it firmly on my chest. I turn my head slightly to the side right next to hers.

I close my eyes taking a deep breath in consuming her caramel scent, calming myself down a little bit, at least for now.

"Thank you, my love. I couldn't do this without you and I know without a doubt that I can't live without you. No matter what you say. I'm still not rejecting you.. so we will figure out a way to get our baby back and get back to my pack after this.. ok?" I ask making sure she knows how serious I am about this and that there is definitely no room for negotiation.

She let out a deep breath as she whispers back, "Dom you know I love you and I want to be with you, but I would do anything for my baby girl and if that means I have to throw myself back into that hell to save her, then I will do it without hesitation. I just asked you to reject me so you would still have another chance to love."

I love that she has said she loves us twice today, but I hate the reasoning behind it. We need to figure something out, Dom. We can't let her go back to that guy!

Miles says to me with so much concern in his voice, but I know exactly how he feels and I will do anything to keep her.

"Don't give yourself to him buttercup.. just run while you can. This man here obviously loves you, just go with him and live a long happy life... as you deserve after everything." Her father says this as if he can have any input on this conversation, which makes me growl again. Ashleigh puts her open hand to my face and sweetly shushes me in my ear calming me almost instantly.

She turns around looking at him and says, "I don't need parental advice from you of all people. Of course, I want to be with Dominic. He is all I have ever wanted and I love him so much, but I would do anything for my baby girl. I'm not leaving her with that monster, because I know the damage he can cause. So I'm just going to have to clean up the mess that you made. But I don't know why you care anyways, because you already sacrificed me years ago." this comment makes me grin, That's right baby, you tell him what he needs to hear. He has been avoiding this conversation for far too long.

I love how she just puts him in his place while confessing her love for us. It's sexy as F*#k... That's our feisty little Luna.

Miles says to me, as he purrs in my chest at her.

She turns around grinning at me and winking as she playfully slaps my chest.

Mmm, she knows I liked that... I can't wait to get her back home and show her what I really like.

Miles is brought out of his dirty thoughts as we hear her father speaking up.

"I know I have no right to say anything. I just want you to be happy and he obviously makes you happy. I'm glad you found such a good mate. I'm sorry about all of this. It just seemed like the better choice at the time.. somehow.. but not and I have felt bad about it since. I never came for you because I didn't want to have to admit and tell you what I did to you. I'm sorry for not being man enough, taking care of this the way I should've. But I do love you buttercup." Her father retorts to her as she whips her head around. "I have an amazing mate no doubt about that, but I also have an astonishing daughter who needs me more than anything right now and I'm not going to let her do this without me. I'm going to give her the support I NEVER had when I needed it most because I know how badly she needs that right now. You will never understand because you have never been there... But it is hell... I'm glad you feel bad because you should. I will never get that scary moment out of my mind ever, but I have been able to love and try to move past it. But you will always have that on your consciousness, of how you ruined my innocence. I hope it haunts you because you're right, you weren't man enough to help me when you had the chance. I'm just glad you're helping my mate." She says this with so much spite as she turns back around snuggling into my side. I tightened my grip around her in a protective cocoon, taking in her caramel scent once again. I can hear her take a deep breath then let it out as her grip tightens around me.

We pull up to the pack house in no time at all to my dismay, since I'm loving this extra mate time, especially since I don't know how much longer I will have it for now. But I will make sure she comes back with me one way or another. I open the door, stepping out, extending my hand to her as she takes it, getting out of the vehicle behind me.

Everyone else follows close behind as we make our way into and through the pack house. I hold her hand so tight in my nervous grip because to say I'm nervous is a complete and utter understatement right now. I lead the way to the Alpha's office where Wes is waiting with his laptop and cell phone out. He is the first one I see as we make our way into the office, but soon enough, we also see the Alpha and Luna and some warriors including the lead warrior, Lucas. Once the rest of us pile into the office, I hear the doors shut behind us.

I feel Ashleigh's hand squeeze mine, probably in nervousness, which is very understandable about this unique stressing situation. I rub my thumb across her hand trying to help calm her before I let go and start. I walk up to the desk bowing to the Alpha and Luna out of respect because we are still on their property even in the circumstances.

"Alpha... Luna... I call you here to show you what I have come up with in the time that I have been here on your property. Now Alpha, I request please listen to everything before taking sides, I ask the same of the rest of you... Ok... So... We have evidence that supports that the Luna is letting rogues on the property, not only steal people and sell them but at least some attempted murder for money. The rogues we have seen around the area, that alerted us to this area in the first place, we have found out, is because The Luna let them onto pack territory. We only have evidence on this phone from a group of rogues I was forced to kill that was sent after me and my mate. We have messages from the phone of one of the rogues showing this sir." I say as I turn and nod at Wes.

He nods back walking up to his desk and showing the messages we found on the phone along with the picture of Ashleigh. So I continue my explanation, even with the Luna glaring daggers at me. If looks could kill, I would be dead one hundred times over.

"When I retrieved my phone a little after the fight I found the rogue's phone on his person. I was leaving to walk back when I heard the Luna talking with a mysterious man. She said she just wanted to make sure to get rid of a particular girl and she told the guy he could take her. Today that man attempted to take my Luna away at gunpoint, also shooting my guard who is at the pack hospital as we speak. He took her daughter before saying that my Luna is his, Quote 'because he paid off her parents' debts with you and is receiving my Luna as compensation'. We went straight to her parent's house to get information about what he is talking about. They both told us how the Luna charged them, to get the couple a stolen child because they couldn't have their own. Which is my Luna Ashleigh. When they couldn't afford to pay her back for stealing the baby for them, she threatened to kill them or take Ashleigh away. When they proceeded to tell her that they still don't have the money, she said she has a different idea. She told them the man by the name of Dan Stevens was interested in Ashleigh and would pay off their debts so they wouldn't kill them if they would agree to sign her over to him. They did and we all know how that ended up with my Luna being raped. I even brought her father as a witness to attest on our behalf if need be. You can question him all you want, he agreed because he feels awful about what happened to his daughter... Now... On our way back we received a call from my Gamma saying he can link the unknown number that was messaging and letting in the rogues onto the territory, to the Luna's personal cellphone. We only have the evidence for these but this whole situation leads me to believe that more cases are going on than just these." I finish as I bow back up.

The Luna's face is beet red with anger at this point but she is not glaring at me as I thought she would be. She is glaring at Ashleigh. She storms out from around the desk but doesn't get much farther as the warriors stop her in her tracks. She is lunging and trying to get hold of Ashleigh. But Ashleigh doesn't look even remotely scared. She walks around my body that's trying to be a protective wall for her at this moment.

She gets closer to the Luna as she asks, "I need to know Mrs.Willows, why do you hate me so much? You have been a b*tch to me since the first day I met you and I have no idea why. You have stolen me from whoever my family was and given me to people who aren't my family, then make them sell me. Putting a price on my virginity when it was nothing of yours to sell. Then you have done nothing but yell at me every single day I ever worked with you and then you send rogues to try to kill me and my mate when I finally get a tiny bit of happiness in my life.. what is your problem with me? What could I have ever possibly done to you?!"

Luna Willows looks completely livid that Ashleigh could even ask that, as she starts to scream at her, even though at this point she is well away from her.

"You did everything to me you little b*tch. Your mother was a f*#king w***e who tried to take my chosen mate from me and I wasn't going to let that happen.. after her one-night stand with MY ALPHA I sent her to the dungeons to torture her for weeks, to make her feel as bad as she made me feel just with her presence in my life... That is until I figured out that little w***e was pregnant with my husband's baby! My Alpha! My chosen mate! I waited and waited taking care of her, making sure she had just enough food and water to last the whole pregnancy down there all alone... Then I made her have the baby on her own, obviously with no help either.. sound familiar?? But I made sure it was much worse than the pain you went through deary. She died from the pain actually, I really wanted to make sure you knew the fact that you killed your own mother, you're the reason your mother is dead. Once she had you, I had to figure out what to do, so that I could watch you grow but not have your filthy self around me... I heard your parents talking about wanting a child so bad so I sold them to you. I charged too much, making sure they couldn't pay your tab and I knew just what I was going to do once I saw the obsession increasing in my cousin over you, for God knows what reason. I knew this was it, my opportunity to get my revenge and it was so sweet. I loved every single second of your pain that I saw. That's the reason I hired you, is so I could underpay you, taking half of your tips every single night and making sure you struggled the whole time. I wasn't going to let you have a happy ending so I had to get rid of you and your mate. I just didn't expect him to win, you lucky little b*tch."

The Alpha stands up instantly yelling at his Luna, "What did you say?! She is my daughter?! She is from Melissa? You killed Melissa?!" he says staring daggers into the side of her face.. she spitefully looks back at him as she yells, "Yes this dirty little b*tch is the daughter of you and your w***e of a mate and yes I let Melissa die.. gladly."

He has tears in his eyes as he looks at her. He takes a deep breath in just to abruptly blow it out as he says, "Karen Stevens Luna of the Willows pack, I strip you of all your titles. After the evidence presented and your confessions, I condemn you to death." Karen starts to freak out screaming and reaching for Ashleigh as the warriors drag her out of the room while she fights them every single step of the way.

The Alpha has tears in his eyes as he sucks in a sharp breath, just to let it out. He gets out from behind his desk as he makes his way toward Ashleigh. He looks up, locking eyes with hers before he starts to tell his side of the story... "Your mother Melissa was my goddess-given mate.. she was the most beautiful woman I ever laid eyes on. She had longer hair than yours but only by a little bit. Her eyes were just like yours, green as a beautiful summer green grass, I recall that her scent was a cheesecake smell, creamy sweet. I wasn't lucky enough to meet her in the first couple of years of shifting.. my parents were getting impatient with me as the next in-line Alpha at that point. I was forced at a young age to choose a mate to take my title as an Alpha. So I chose Karen Stevens. She was my best option at the time. It was about 3 years later when I met your mother. She was stopping for the night as she was supposed to be passing through and we found each other at the bar. We spent the whole night talking and even made love under the stars. I asked her to stay with me and be by my side, but she didn't know if she wanted to be a Luna of a pack. She was wild and free and wanted to stay that way, especially since she was human and had no obligations to the pack. I remember the last kiss I shared with her as if it was yesterday, being one of the most magical moments of my life and then I never saw her again. I thought she just left me to be the wild stallion she was, to never be tamed. I swear if I would've known I would never have let any of this happen to you and I'm so sorry. I don't know how I didn't know, you look just like your mother. Maybe it was because you never got my wolf genes that I couldn't put it together. I don't know... I'm so sorry." He stares at her as he opens his arms and pulls her into a fatherly hug as she cries in his arms. They cried together for a moment not just for themselves but for the loss of the one person they both needed for so long. He rubs her back, then kisses her forehead as he backs up from her and looks at me before saying. "Please take good care of her and thank you for your help with everything. You both are welcome anytime in my home and on my territory."

"Thank you, we still might need some help we need to retrieve her daughter from Dan Stevens. He has her hostage and demanding Ashleigh in trade for her." I explain to him as I hear from beside us. "Why don't we send Ashleigh in for the trade out front, distracting him and trying to sneak in the back, catching him by surprise before anything else can happen to Ashleigh," Lucas says to us. Ashleigh is the one to speak up first, "I'll be the bait for sure. He is at the Old Cabin outside of town. Last I remember it was pretty run down. Should be pretty easy to break into. "

"How do you know that for sure?" Asked Wesley out of curiosity. Ashleigh turns to him hesitantly explaining. "Um.. well.. that's where he would take me to sexually harass me a little bit by little bit.. then to rape me after the out-of-town choir competition I had with him since he was my teacher. He said I would know where to meet him to get her back. So I just figured it's the one place he use to always take me to." She says a little sadly to him as he bows saying a soft, "I'm sorry for questioning Luna."

"It's ok you didn't know." She says sweetly to him as he nods."I would love to help you out for all of the help you extended our pack.. if I can." Lucas asks as I nod at him responding, "That would be a great help, thank you. We need to get Aurora back unscathed and the more help the better. But we need to stay hidden. He said Ashleigh has to come alone or he is hurting her." I pause staring at them until I decide to continue.

"Ok all of us wolves will run on foot surrounding the back area and watching Ashleigh make sure she is safe getting in and trading places with Aurora. Stefanie will wait outside as far away down the main path as she can to wait and then retrieve Aurora. We will sneak attack trying to get in on all sides, and getting Ashleigh out as soon as possible. Everyone understands?" Everyone nods at me as we open the doors to head out and retrieve Aurora.
