Chapter 9 Trying to Explain it

Ashleigh's POV

I wake up with so much excitement. I go to the closet and pick out a matching bra and thong set with my favorite blue skinny jeans that hug my curves just perfectly. If there was any day to impress Dominic it would be today. I have agreed to move with Dominic when he goes and I want to make sure he doesn't regret asking us. I also want to look good because I have a reason to, for once in my life.

I pick out my favorite forest green off-the-shoulder, long-sleeve sweater since it's colder out now. It drapes off my body, hiding all my imperfections because I still have some mom bod even after having her years ago... But I try when I can to work it off, but the problem is that I don't have much of that kind of extra time, because I spend that time with my baby girl when I have it.

It ties at the front of the bottom seam into a knot that brings all the attention to it. I straighten my hair, leaving it down because it is long and I love this shade of burgundy against the green. It makes the color pop. I do my make-up lightly because I'm not the biggest fan of make-up, but I like making a couple of features pop out more, like my eyes and cheekbones.

"Hmmm so is your Greek God headed over here or something?" Stef asks from right next to me. I laugh shaking my head, "Is it that obvious?" I ask as she laughs and nods. "Yea, I don't remember the last time I saw you up this early dressed with make-up on in a long time. I'm happy for you though he seems like a good guy." She says sweetly, smiling at me.

"Yea he is... it's refreshing. He makes me feel... I don't know how to describe it, but when he is near me I just feel better.. happy.. confident.. strong... I don't know what it is and when he kissed me the sparks that went off between us I will never forget it... It felt amazing. He is the first guy to want to be around Aurora and she wants to be around him too, which is sweet. You should have seen them yesterday dancing together! It was the sweetest thing I have ever seen and he sang the Beast's parts in the movie to her!" I said, still surprised about his sweet actions.

"Oh yeah, I heard about Dom singing to her from Aurora, who is indeed in love. Have you told him about what happened with her? He will need to know for you two to move past this together." She says so knowingly to me and I turned, looking at her and nodding.

"I told him last night and.. he asked me to come with him to where he lives.. he wants us to be with him and take care of us. He says he would protect us.. so after the information about Mr.Stevens I said yes.." I say a little nervously because I'm afraid I'm going to hurt the one person who has always been there for me through thick and thin.

"Oh, yea he told me yesterday, warning me that he asked you and I'm happy for you... You girls both deserve a happy life and a happy ending. He seems great for you, he does. He also seems so genuine. I never knew a man like that existed. Wonder where he is from? Or if he has a brother?" She says making me smile.

"Funny thing. I asked him where he was from and what his story was and you want to know what he told me?" I ask as she nods I giggle and say sarcastically, "He told me he is the soon-to-be Alpha of a werewolf pack when his father gives it to him and that for now he is helping a werewolf council with a pack problem. They have accusations of abuse in the pack here, so he is here for a secret assignment to try to figure out if the accusations are true... He also told me they have a moon goddess and that she hand picks out what's called a mate for each werewolf and supposedly I'm his mate and that's why he wants me to be with him so badly because I'm his 'perfect life partner'.." I say so sarcastically. She looks at me surprised as she asks. "That's what he told you?" I nod and smile. As I finish up my make-up.

"You don't think he was serious?" she asks staring at me. I look back at her surprised, answering. "Werewolves real? Are you serious Stef?"

"Well, yea. We have talked about Bigfoot, aliens, mermaids, and unicorns being real at least at some point, but you don't think that about werewolves?" she asks me as if I'm an i***t.

"Well, I don't know... I just figured he was kidding... I don't know I laughed when he told me and then when I saw he had a serious look on his face, you came in the room.. that's what he told me on the couch when you walked in." I explain to her.

"No wonder he is perfect, God. I hope he has a brother or a friend if he is a werewolf! I hope it wasn't a joke, that would be so cool." She says with so much excitement as I see movements in my peripherals. I turn to see my angel waking up and rubbing her eyes.

"Good morning lovebug." I say to her as she mumbles something and all I can make out is "mommy." she hugs my side and I bend down, kissing the top of her head.

"Dominic is coming over today, so you might want to get dressed out of your pj's at least before he gets here. She gets all kinds of excited, prancing back into the room and picking out a pink unicorn shirt with black legging pants. "Mama, can you make my hair like princess Elsa today?" That's the only way I could convince her to let me do her hair was to do it like the princess'.

"Of course, baby, grab your brush and meet me on the couch. I shut off the light and go into the front room, sitting down on the couch. In prances Aurora, handing me her brush before she sits down so I can brush her hair, getting all the knots out. I started French braiding on the right side of her head, going around and down until it comes over her left shoulder. She grabs her favorite headband, puts it on as she smiles, and says, "Thank you, mommy."

"Of course baby." is all I get out as I hear a knock at the door. I nervously get up and look at Stefanie as she winks at me. I use the little bit of confidence I have to open the front door and all I see is a very broad, muscle-covered upper body, being barely covered by a tight black thermal long sleeve. A part of me hopes he will flex so the shirt will rip off in that small movement because of how tight it looks on his muscles. My eyes lock with his hazel eyes that have gold speckles inside of them, almost sparkling. His hair looks like it's still wet from a shower because he smells amazing.

His mouth drops open as he stares at me. "Goddess, you look gorgeous. I'm absolutely captivated by your beauty. You are stunning in every sense of the word." He smiles saying this to me as I blush instantly, putting anything dark and red to shame.

"Um thank you, you look great and smell great yourself.." I say as I realize how stupid I sound, so I turn around mortified and Stefanie is laughing at me while mouthing the words as she laughs, "You smell nice." at me as I flip her off, then turning back around, "Come in if you think you can handle it." I say as he steps in instantly, shocking me while he smiles down at me passing by as I take in his amazing musk again. He smells so amazing. I love it... It's woodsy, cedar musk that's so calming.

"Dom!" is all I hear as I turn around seeing Aurora run to him and he picks her up, hugging her as she jumps into his arms. "Good morning princess." This makes my heart absolutely swoon, this is the sweetest thing I have ever seen and all I have ever wanted for my baby girl. I hope he doesn't mess this chance up.

"You want to play video games with us? I always beat mom at racing! I'm really good but I'll go easy on you." he chuckles at her comment, showing his amazing, almost perfect smile as he says," Oh, that's good to know you would be nice enough to go easy on me. I would hate to lose horribly." he says as she pats his back as she says. "It's only because you make my momma smile. Oh, mister! I heard momma tell Aunt Stef that your kiss made sparks fly between you two, so you should be careful around my mommy. Sparks cause fires to start." She says shaking her pointer finger at him. I'm in shock as I don't know what to say to save myself from the embarrassment right now.

That is until I look up and Dominic is grinning at me, "What if I want to ignite a fire between your momma and me?" He asks shamelessly as my daughter answers, "then you have to use fire safety, right momma?"

"Right baby we wouldn't want anyone to get burned," I say back almost warning him of what I'm scared of most.

"You won't. I promise I will do anything to make sure you will be ok." he says as Aurora is nodding beside him as she says, "Yea mommy, you have been waiting so long you need to be happy with Beast."

"Beast?" I ask as she smiles and says, "He played a wonderful Beast mommy and you can finally be Belle." I smile at her as I blush more. "Yea Ash, will you be my Belle?" He says smiling at me still holding Aurora tight in his arms as she nods and I look to see Stef smirking mischievously at me nodding.

"Ok Mr. Beast, you have successfully figured out the way to my heart, so yes, I will be your Belle." They cheer in unison as Aurora says, "Does this mean Dom is my daddy? I have always wanted a daddy and he is so nice, please mommy please?" I'm in shock that my mouth opens and shuts because I don't know what to say to her.

"Yes, that's exactly what that means. I would proudly be your father... Would you like to come live with me Princess?" he asks her as she nods vigorously and bounces in his arms then hugs him tightly.

My eyes fill with tears as I stare at them, then I glance at Stef and she has tears in her eyes as well as winks at me again. I can tell she approves of him, especially seeing how good he is with my baby. "Ok it's time for me to kick your butt at racing, but like I said I'll be nice I swear," Aurora says, making me smile and laugh at her as I wipe the tears away.

"Ok let's get it set up bug and let them say hi," says Stef as she grabs Aurora from Dom and he smiles coming up to me. I shake my head, walking through the hall into the back bedroom because I know he will follow me.

I walk in as I hear him behind me, "You're not mad, right? I would hate to offend you at all."

I turn around, looking at him before saying, "We are a lot to take in, and going from bachelor to dad is a big difference... I don't want to flip your life upside down Dom... I don't want to get hurt and most of all, I don't want my baby to get hurt and I'm honestly terrified of how good I feel with you." I say to him as he walks up so quickly to me, putting his hands on my cheeks, wiping away the tears I never knew I had started crying.

"I know everything I say is hard to believe, but I promise I'm telling you the truth. Things are different where I come from and we are raised to cherish our significant others and family is always the number one priority... This is all I have ever wanted and I promise I mean it when I say that you guys are perfect for me.. both of you in every way." I lean into his touch as I look up into those gorgeous eyes that are staring into my soul with so much love.

"Ok please don't f*#k this up. If I have to pick the pieces of my daughter's broken heart because of you, then mark my words, Dom, I will break that many of your bones." he smiles at me as I see his eyes glaze over turning a shade of gold for a second, then back to normal.

Dominic's POV

She leans into my touch as I hear Miles purr in my head, making me want to purr out loud.

"Ok please don't f*#k this up. If I have to pick the pieces of my daughter's broken heart because of you, then mark my words Dom, I will break that many of your bones."

That's our Luna. She is amazing and still scary even for a human. I do love her. You haven't said it but I can tell you feel the same, Dom... Great job winning them over. I shouldn't have doubted you.

Miles says to me as I internally smirk and respond.

You're right. You shouldn't have doubted me, I want them just as badly as you do in our lives.

"What was that?" I lock my eyes down with hers. I'm confused, so she clarifies."Your eyes were your normal hazel with gold speckles but then they changed to a glazed-over gold with hazel speckles then back to normal in a second period."

My eyes go wide as I say, "Baby I'll explain everything to you later and then you can ask all the questions you want, but I don't think right now is the best time until you see it for yourself." I try to explain as she nods and asks, "See what for myself?"

"Everything you need to know about me. It's more of, you have to see it to believe it... But I need you to promise me, just like I did for you, do not judge me or.. be scared of me, please. I swear I would never hurt you or Aurora and I need you to believe that, so you both know you're safe when you're with me." I try to explain to her and she looks like she is thinking about what I have said as she nods at me and then responds. "I feel a lot of things when I'm with you Dom.. but fear for my safety is not one of them. I'm not scared of you nor will I ever be." This comment makes me feel so much better as I hug her tight, kissing her forehead.

"My mother and father are so excited to meet you, I bet they will just adore you and Aurora." I say to her as she smiles up at me, asking, "You told your parents about us?" Without missing a beat I say, "Of course, I told them about my mate." as if it's obvious, then my eyes go wide. "Your mate?" she asks me curiously with a smirk accompanying her question.

"Yea in my culture everyone has a soul mate made just for them, their one and only.. their other half, and you are mine. We just call it to mate for short." I try to explain in a way she would understand. "Are you sure it's me?" She asks curiously.

"Oooohhh yea it's you, for sure," I say without a doubt. I notice her eyebrows furrowing. "How do you know?" she asks with disbelief. I lean down to whisper into her ear. "Well, there are different indicators, but the most obvious, that you would know what I'm talking about, are those sparks between us. Those only happen with mates and just when we touch." I say as I kiss her cheek, then down to her jawline and next to her neck as she exposes it more to me. "I do like those sparks a lot, I didn't know that's what that feeling was." She says with her eyes closed at this point.

"Yea, I had only heard about it before, but always wanted to experience it and it is amazing," I say as I kiss her neck again, causing a soft moan to come out, but when I look at her she is biting her lip trying to stop it.

God, she is so sexy, amazing, and tastes so good. It's getting so hard to control myself and you're not helping Dom!

Miles yells at me because he is getting just as riled up as I am, but I can smell her arousal so I don't want to stop, it smells so good.

"The next most obvious indicator is how you smell... You smell like the best type of caramel you could buy, you smell sweet creamy, and delectable." I say as I take another breath when kissing her neck again.

"You smell woodsy with cedar. Is that a part of it?" She asks softly into my ear. Miles purrs in my chest at her response in such close proximity, sending a shiver down my spine.

"It's different for everyone, but it's the smell that is normally the first thing to pull you towards your mate. It's the first thing I noticed when I met you. I kept asking everyone what that amazing smell was and no one knew what I was talking about. Then when you walked up the smell was coming from you, I knew it was you. You're the only one who smells like this and it's amazing." I say into her ear as I see goosebumps run across her body.

"Anything other indicators?" She asks softly.

"Well, Miles told me too because he automatically knew." I say as she asks, "Who is Miles?"

I think about it for a second as I answered, "You will know Miles when you see him, I swear." She nods as we hear from behind me, "Come on daddy, it's time to play!" I feel Aurora's little hand around my finger.

"I'm sorry if you don't want her to call you that I can tell her to stop," says Ashleigh, looking a little mortified.

"No way I love it! Music to my ears!" I say as I blew her a kiss and wink, turning the corner.
