Chapter 30 She's Back

Dominic's POV

I'm getting restless, waiting for Stefanie with the CPR... I don't know if this action is going to work... I think I lost my two girls today and I couldn't feel more heartbroken and lost... How am I supposed to go on in life without them? I don't want anyone else, I just want her... Moon Goddess please don't take her from me too. I need her, please... I beg in my head just praying to her in hopes she can hear me and will listen.

I hear soft, "I won't." in my head from a woman's voice I don't know. I look around quickly and there is no one around me except Mike and Nate waiting with as much anticipation as I am. I see Stefanie pushing on her chest again as she yells gaining my attention, "Owe! what the hell!" I look To Ashleigh's chest where she was pushing and see a Cresent Moon inside of the full moon forming onto Ashleigh's chest, it burning straight into her skin.

All three of us guys gasp as Nate mutters, "The symbol of the moon goddess." My eyes are as wide as theirs in shock. "Ahh!" This is all Stefanie screams as she grasps her chest in pain? Nate runs to her side as she yells, "My chest!" Nate rips her shirt open to see a symbol of lines and a sword forming and burning across her chest. Stefanie screams in pain as I look down to see Ashleigh's hair changing to a darker shade, almost black her eyes burst open but they are purple instead of green. Ashleigh turns to the side, spitting out so much water onto the floor. She is gasping for air as Mike asks hesitantly, "Ash?"

She looks up at him in confusion as she responds between the panting, "yea.. of course.. who do you think it was Mike?" She flops back down on the floor to her back gasping for air again.. as her hand trails to her chest as if she is trying to calm her heart and breathing... She feels the symbol on her chest as she jumps up and says, "What is this? How did I get this?"

I'm still in shock as I stare into her goddess-given eyes.. the purple eyes are the indicator of the moon goddess and so is that symbol.. even the dark hair. Every single description we have about the moon goddess is everything we see right here. Mike is the one to answer. "It just burned into your chest right in front of our eyes right here right now... Your eyes have changed to purple and your hair is almost black.. it all changed within a minute's span."

Ash looks around as she whispers to herself, "That's what she meant when she said you guys would believe me because you would see it... Holy F*#k that wasn't a dream I guess." Ashleigh looks even more shocked as all four of us stare at her and I'm the one to ask.. "She? Who is she? And what wasn't a dream?"

She sits up and stares at us with a cheeky but hesitant look on her face saying. "Well.. um... I killed myself to be with Aurora because I didn't want to live a life without her.. but she was with this beautiful but familiar woman. She said she is my... grandmother and.. the moon goddess... Her name is Selene and she says I have a purpose on earth and that's why she left me here and took Aurora to be her replacement since she is slowly dying... She has to take a life to give a life, so she took Aurora's so she could give me mine back... She says she has to have a part of the goddess on earth and also in her realm... But she says I.. um.. will get pregnant with twins, who will gain my powers that she has unlocked for me.. since I died and was brought back to life.. and that I have to protect them with Dom and Stefanie at my side because Dom is my pure Alpha mate and Stefanie is my goddess-given guardian and she always has been... The twins will be the future of pure light werewolves that will bring the packs together to bring the toxic darkness to an end...She says they will feel my presence because of my powers the moment I wake up and will start trying to come after me and my babies soon after... I know that sounds crazy but I swear I'm telling the truth." She explains and stares up at me.

I kneel next to her still in shock at everything. "Wow... um, that's a lot to take in, but how could I not believe you, all the descriptions we have ever heard about the moon goddess are what you look like right now and I saw you change right before my eyes and that symbol on your chest is the crest of the moon goddess... But.. wait she took Aurora with her? Does that mean you got to see her again?" I ask with so much curiosity.

She nods so vigorously at me as she says, "She looks and sounds just as perfect as before and Selene said she made sure she didn't feel any pain when she took her... She was happy then darkness and with her.. but she says Aurora's so smart and pure that she wants her to be the new moon goddess when she dies... But I was so happy I got to hug her so tight and kissed her so much." I smile at that thought, that she got to have her kind of goodbye... I'm sure that helped her so much.

"So I'm your goddess-given guardian?" Stefanie asks from behind us. I helped Ashleigh stand up as I noticed everyone staring at her exposed body, so I quickly grabbed a towel and wrapped it around her. Ashleigh blushes to such a dark red at the idea of everyone seeing her almost naked body.

"Yes, she said she made sure to give me a guardian to help protect me and my babies for our whole lives and she told me it was you... it's always been you. That's why you have that symbol I'm assuming." She says to Stefanie as she walks to her, hugging her so tight. "Of course! How did we not know that I'm the b*tch that was assigned to clean up all of your messes? I have been doing it forever and God you're messy!" She says with such humor in her voice as they both laugh and cry holding each other. Stefanie sniffles then continues, "I also was the one that just saved your ass.. dumbass! Don't you dare do that again or I wily kill you myself!" Ashleigh cries and nods. "I won't do it again. I'm sorry, I just didn't want to live without her, she is my baby." Stefanie nods and says, "I know what you mean Phi. I'm just glad you got to see her again."

"Me too... Selene gave me this and said if I say her name into it, then she can come to see me for a moment and when Aurora replaces her when I say her name, she will appear to me too." She says as she holds up a dangling silver necklace with a glowing teal and purple stone at the center. Stefanie leans down, hugging Ashleigh again as she says, "That's real cool... This is all so crazy but I always knew you were meant for more than the life you had... I love you. Thank you for coming back. Oh, and the eyes are badass. I love them!" Ashleigh smiles tightening her hold around her, then soon separates from Stefanie as she turns back to me. She locks her stunning gaze with mine and I can't look away.

Goddess those eyes are gorgeous. I have never seen such bright vibrant eyes.

Miles says to me and I completely agree, that those eyes are breathtaking. I just watch her inch closer to me until she is within reaching distance because her hand lifts and gently touches my cheek. I can't help but lean into her soft touch, as she says, "I'm sorry I love you and I wanted to be with you, but I didn't think I could live a life without her.. but quickly found out I don't have a choice... But.. I swear I love you so much, you don't know how hard it was for me to knowingly leave you. I'm so sorry... If you can't forgive me, I understand, but I didn't want to live without you."

"I thought I lost you and you don't know how lost I felt at that moment. I'm not happy you tried to kill yourself, but I'm so happy to have you back. Please don't leave me ever again and I promise I won't ever leave your side." I say with such yearning compassion for her, so she hopefully knows exactly how I feel. I watch as the tears fall from her eyes with so much happiness as she nods, grabbing my face and crashing her lips to mine in a passionate hunger. I pull her into my body holding her so tight, there is no space between us, and once we break our kiss... She stares up at me in a hypnotizing, entranced type of gaze.

"So twins huh?" I ask smirking down at her as she blushes and says softly, "They haven't been made yet.. is what Selene told me." I wink at her as I say, "Well we can take care of that problem whenever you want." She shakes her head and blushes at my comment but doesn't object. "Well, first we have to take care of the problem in the cells." Mike says looking away. I'm not trying to make him feel bad because I know he does have feelings for Ashleigh and they won't just go away overnight just because he found out she is his half-sister. But I almost lost my mate. I just want to ravish her right here right now, out of desperation for have her back... sorry... not sorry.

Ashleigh's POV

"Paytan" is all I can think of when Mike says they have a problem in the cells. They all look shocked that I think it's her or know it's her, confirmed by their shock. But right as I figured out what had happened to my father and daughter, I knew who it was right away. I'm not stupid. I know how to put the clues together.

"Did the moon goddess tell you that?" Dominic asks me curiously as I smile and shake my head, "No she didn't even mention her at all, I'm just not an i***t, Paytan was the only one who wanted to hurt me. That's still alive... So who else? It's obviously her. What better way to hurt me than by taking away someone from me the day she thinks I took her mother from her." I say as if it's obvious, as Stef chuckles behind me saying, "At least we know dying didn't affect your brain.. too much." I smile and laugh looking back at her.

"Ok let's go take care of her then.. let me get some clothes on really fast and we can go." I say to them as Dominic shakes his head at me saying, "No way. You're not coming. You just literally died. I'm not taking you to the woman who just killed the last of your family." I flip around with the sternest and defensive look on my face as Stefanie lets out an "Oooo" sound that gets Dominic's attention as I say, "Excuse me? I know you're my mate, but you're not going to tell me what I can or cannot do because I'm my person and I'll do what I want when I want.. and this b*tch murdered the last bit of my family here on earth and there is no way in hell I'm going to not go down there and teach her a f*#king lesson, handling the situation with you... NOW... Out of everyone who should be going down there, I'm pretty confident about the fact that I should be top on that list, because she destroyed my family and all. Now I'm going down there with you guys and there is nothing you could say to change my mind, are we clear?" I don't break eye contact with him.

I don't care how big or intimidating he is, I'm stubborn and I will win this fight. It's dead silent in the room at this point, you could hear a pin drop. I'm sure everyone is just wondering how Dominic will react to my demanding tone. Because I bet being the boss means not very many people go against your opinion, but too bad for him because I'm not backing down.

His eyes change back and forth between colors as he leans down closer to my face as says, "You're so lucky we have to take care of Paytan right now or I would take you right here right now, getting a head start on those twins.. that's was the sexiest thing ever." His arms wrap around my waist pulling me into his broad frame abruptly and possessively as he crashes his lips to mine and God he tastes so good.

He breaks the kiss and smacks my butt saying earning a squeak from me as he says, "Well get dressed then, so we can go." I smirk at him as I prance to the closet grabbing two shirts and one pair of pants to put on. I toss one of the shirts to Stefanie as I go to the bathroom to get dressed. She follows me into the bathroom to change her shirt with me.

"Are you sure you're ok with the girls joining us?" I can hear Nate ask Dominic, who are waiting for us out in the bedroom. I hear Dominic's chuckle echo in the room as he retorts, "Do you want to be the one to tell your Luna to stay? because as far as I'm concerned she does have just as much right to be there as us and your mate is her guardian, so they both have to be there together." This comment makes me smile that he likes my dominant attitude because I didn't think he would like it honestly. Most men I have known, have tried to put me in my place because I'm dominant and stubborn, which is a hard combo to like or even get along with.

"No Alpha I don't want to be the one to try talking her out of that because she might kick my ass," Nate responds, making Dominic laugh and I'm sure agreeing too.. I look up and see Stefanie smiling back at me because we both heard their conversation and it does make me smile so big.

So you have powers huh?" Stefanie asks as I shrug and respond, "I don't know, Selene said she unlocked my powers and I feel stronger, but not like I thought I would feel at all, so I don't know honestly." She hums in response as she says, "I like your moon it looks cool, like a different style of tattoo almost a branding." I nod in agreement with her, as I respond, "yours looks badass, I like the sword.. does yours hurt? Because mine is a little sore for sure." She nods back at me as we finish getting changed.

We walk out of the bathroom to the guys who are waiting for us. They turn and nod at Mike, who leads the way out of the room. Dominic takes my hand in his as we follow Mike down the hallway.

We descend the stairs as we continue through the house until we get to a door that looks like it could be a closet. Mike opens the door and this exposes the staircase that goes down and I'm assuming under the pack house by the way it looks. We descend these stairs a little slower than the last ones as I hold Dominic's hand a little tighter. The farther down the stairs we get, the darker it gets. We get to the bottom of the stairs and Mike turns to the right, continuing down a dark hallway where there are lights by every other cell.

I notice most of the cells are empty as we pass them. We see one of Dominic's men sitting out front of the last cell down this hallway. Dominic is the one to step forward saying, "Thank you, Wesley, we had something.. um.. that happened and I'll tell you about it later. But thank you for waiting."

"No problem Alpha," Wesley says bowing to him. Dominic pulls me behind him and into the cell behind Mike. We stopped right in front of a chained-up Paytan, sitting on the floor in the corner of the dark room. She looks up at our presence, locking eyes with me as the biggest malicious grin appears on her face. Mike steps in front of me with a protective tone as I put my hand on his shoulder gently and he steps back, letting me be out here in the open with her still smirking bigger than before.

"Man Ashleigh, when I heard Alpha Dominic say something happened, I was hoping you had killed yourself, because of your great loss today." She says to me in almost a sarcastic playful way. So I respond honestly without hesitation, "I did." as I shrug my shoulders. We're still locked in our gaze as she retorts back, "Well your standing here, so obviously your not very good at it... you know, I could help you with that, if you just get me out of these chains."

"I did succeed in killing myself and the moon goddess sent me back here because come to find out I'm her granddaughter and have a purpose.. weird right... I know.. who would have known by looking at me?" I say as I let go of Dominic's hand, to his dismay. I step forward and then squat down in front of her. She scoffs at my answer, "Don't even try to pretend like your better than the trash you have always been.. next thing you're going to tell me that the moon goddess is the reason for your baby being gone." She says this with so much disbelief, making fun of me and my statement.

"Actually, she did tell me that my baby girl is so amazing that she needs her up there with her. That's why she took her." I retort as if it's just obvious and she is stupid for not knowing. She laughs at this and confesses, "No the reason you don't have your disgusting mistake of a baby girl is that I made it so... To be honest, it was just a wonderful accident. I was just trying to kill my father in revenge for killing my mother today and it just ended up being a twofer. Hitting two birds with one stone or in this case, killing two people with one bomb. How does it feel to know you finally got a dad that wouldn't sell you like the wh*re you are, and I took him away before you could even think about building some type of relationship with him? How does it feel to know you are such a piece of sh*t mom, that you killed your baby by letting her go on a drive with someone who was almost a stranger to you and her... I know you knew of him but we both know you never had a conversation with him... You're just a sh*tty mom that couldn't protect your baby and that's why she is as dead as a doornail!" She says this with a smug look and sounds to her voice.

Before I even know what I'm doing.. at least I think I'm doing it.. vines fly out of the ground and wrap around her neck as I get closer to her face and finally expose my face to the light to her. She gurgles and laughs gasping as she says, "Purple eyes like the moon goddess? Obviously, she doesn't love you because she let you get raped and tortured for how long? You're just the last resort because I don't know how someone like YOU can be a part goddess when you have been and always will be complete trash, just like that result of being a skank you call a child... She got unlucky when she got you for a mother didn't she? She would have lived longer if I was her mother. I could tell you that much.." I squeeze her with the vines tighter as she starts to gag and gasp for air.

I lean down close to her ear as I say, "Just so you know she is in a way better place and went out without any pain thanks to the moon goddess... But I can assure you, that you're not getting that same treatment. For the torment you have put me through and killing my father and daughter, I just want to squeeze the life out of you, taking away any chance you have of taking one more last breath, just like you did to my family, " I can hear her gasping more and more for air as I let her go and the vines disappear back into the ground.

Paytan falls to the ground gasping for air as I continue, "But I'm not a monster like you. I won't make you suffer like I know I probably should because it's well deserved... But no one is going to take this from me.. your mine to kill because you're the one who single-handedly took my family from me.. so an eye for an eye b*tch... I hope your stupidity was worth dying over." Within a seconds span, vines pop out of the ground, grabbing her by the neck and snapping her neck as her lifeless body falls to the ground. The vines disappear just as quickly back into the ground.

I stand up, turning away from the lump of a body on the ground as I lock eyes with Mike. "I'm sorry but I had to, I had to give her what she deserved for taking our father and my baby from me. As much as I hated her, I still didn't want her to suffer. But I won't allow her to live after all she had done either.. I'm sorry if I crossed lines, but this was something I needed to do to not hate myself for the rest of my life." I try to explain the best I can in hopes he doesn't hate me too much.

"It's ok Ash, I completely understand. I'm sorry for your loss. She didn't deserve that but she is obviously onto better things being the next moon goddess in training... That's something you have to be proud of. You made her that amazing, all on your own because you are a great mother and I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner... But Thank you for handling that, because I don't know if I could have done what needed to get done.. just because she is my sister, so you helped me by helping yourself. Also, the vines were cool as hell, how did you do that?" He says so sweetly to me as I hug him tight saying, "I'm sorry for your loss with your mom, dad and now sister.. if you need anything please don't hesitate to ask, please... But I honestly don't know how I did that. I just got mad and they jumped out of the ground.. Selene did tell me that my powers would be involving the 4 elements; water, fire, earth, and air, but I can tell you I wasn't expecting that.. my powers will take some getting used to, for sure, but thank you."
