Chapter 31 Taking Her Mind Off Of things

Dominic's POV

I pull Ashleigh behind me into the cell as I see the sadistic look flash upon Paytan's face. But it seems without hesitation, Mike steps in the way of her malicious gaze, which makes me happy and almost jealous at the same time. I like that he is protective of my mate, but why is he protective? Is it because she is his newly discovered sister or because he has some, still left-over feelings for her? But I'm not going to get mad because either way, this action was meant to protect her and I won't object to that.

Except for the fact, I feel her hand loosening up around mine, as she steps closer to the family murderer. I'm not happy with this action but I let her proceed because I'm curious to see how she will react. I'm not fond at all of her wanting to participate in the execution, but I do like that she doesn't just want me to take care of things without her... She wants to help me, which is a sign of a good Luna as well.

She squats down in front of Paytan and she starts to tell her what she deserves and what she wants to do to her to make her suffer and man. I know it sounds demented but it is sexy as f*#k for me to hear this. What shocks me more is that with her anger, there also come vines from the ground, wrapping around her neck and I know that it's Ash making this happen. The more she insults her baby, the tighter the grip around her neck gets. Paytan insults Ash and her recently deceased baby again and I can see the fire in her eyes as Ash insults her, then kills her instantly with those same vines from the ground before, in one swift movement.

Well, that was probably the sexiest thing ever. I never thought I would like this side of her, but Goddess, I would take her right here right now after seeing that fire and determination in her eyes.

Miles says to me as he purrs in my chest at her. I never thought I would like this side of her either because I love the innocence she brings to the situation... But that fire in her eyes makes a fire burn inside of me for her. I think she hears my rumbling chest as she glances up at me, sending me a small smile. She turns to Mike and apologizes for taking over the situation, but who are we to tell her she can't, as she said before... She has just as much right as we do to be there and she deserves revenge more than anyone of us as well.

I hear Mike make some nice comments to her but you can feel the feelings he has for her laced behind them as I notice her hug him. I'm trying so hard not to get jealous of this interaction between them because I know Ashleigh doesn't mean it s****l, she is just being the caring person she is, but I still don't like the look of her hugging another man. Especially when I know the man has feelings for her.

It takes everything in me to not get jealous as I watch her finally separate from him, which calms Miles down instantly. She turns to me, locking me into that intense, alluring, and stunning gaze of hers. I reach out and grab her hand as we turn around, walking out of the cell.

We walked down the hallway in silence as I led the way back up the stairs. Getting into the pack house from the stairs pretty quickly as Ashleigh turns to all of us saying, "Thanks all of you, for being there for me when I needed you most. You don't know what it means to me, but I think I need to go upstairs and try to clear my head right now. It's been an overwhelming day and I need to try to calm down to relieve my stresses for the moment." She says as everyone sends small smiles her way, then bowing as she turns and leaves walking up the stairs headed back to the room.

Sir, the fire is put out and we have taken care of everything properly as requested, by disposing of everything hazardous... We went around and helped out the injured, but most of them just have cuts and bruises, nothing more.

Pauly says this to me over the mind link as I respond.

Thank you for all your help. If you need me, don't hesitate to ask, we have taken care of the problem that caused all of that, but now I need to go make my Luna feel better.

I'm so happy everything is taken care of because that helps relieve big stress from my and Alpha Mike's shoulders.

Yes, Alpha, you're welcome and call us if you need anything because your Luna needs you more now than we do.

I smile at that comment with my men being so understanding about everything going on, I couldn't do this without them.

I turn to Mike, patting his shoulder as I tell him, "So my men have taken care of the fire and disposed of all of it, so you won't have to worry about that. They did evacuate everyone to check them out and make sure they were fine.. and they mostly acquired cuts and bruises... So take a moment for yourself, because I'm sure you will have to have your welcoming Alpha announcement tonight. If you need anything let us know, but I'm going to go make sure my Luna is ok... It's been a rough day all around for everyone."

He sends a small smile my way as he responds, "Thank you so much for everything and I'll start getting things set up for tonight. Just go take care of her. I know she needs it."

I nod at him, Nate, Stefanie, and Wesley as I start to walk up the stairs.

Nate, can you please make sure to bring our men and Wesley up to date about the Luna as well? I think this is something they all need to know. I'm going to call and tell my father about it.

I keep walking as I hear in the mind link.

I pick up my phone, calling my father first because I need to inform him of everything before I get to my Luna because she needs to be the main focus when I get into the room. It rings only once as he picks up and says, "Hey son how was the execution? How are Ash, Aurora, and Alpha Dave doing with everything?"

I feel my tears catch in my throat as I swallow and let out a huge breath saying, "Dad, things are bad here.. After the execution, Ashleigh was threatened by the Alpha's daughter, saying she would get her back for her mother's execution... Aurora was hanging out with the Alpha Dave, getting to know her newly found grandpa... they went out for a ride in his sports car when it exploded because of the Alpha Daughter's rage and revenge... I had to hold Ashleigh back from jumping into the fire herself to try to save her daughter, but there was nothing to save. I took her back to her room as she was completely broken down. I made her a bath to try to help her relax and she locked the door and drowned herself... But.. here's where things get tricky.. when she died she met up with the moon goddess who had Aurora with her... She said she took Aurora because she needed her to be her replacement... Ashleigh is her granddaughter and needs to stay on earth... Selene, the moon goddess, said Ashleigh and I will have twins soon and we have to protect them because they will be the key to destroying the darkness in the werewolf packs and bringing light connecting all the packs for the future of werewolves. She gave Ashleigh her powers back, which she had locked away and as we were able to regenerate Ashleigh, she had the moon goddess symbol burn on its own, into her skin... As her hair changed to black and her eyes to purple right before me, Nate, Stefanie, and Alpha Mike's eyes. Stefanie has been Ashleigh's friend since they were small children and is Nate's mate, but she is also the goddess-given guardian to Ashleigh as well... Ashleigh has been given the powers of the 4 elements; earth, air, fire, and water... I'm not done yet. When we went to take care of the Alpha's daughter, Ashleigh insisted on going, of course. The Alpha's daughter kept insulting the recently deceased daughter, infuriating Ashleigh... The next thing I knew, vines came out of the ground and killed the Alpha's daughter, but not too soon after Ashleigh told her off, which was something she needed to do for herself. I'm headed up to the room now to try to help calm her down."

I hear a gasp from the other end as my father responds, "I'm so sorry for your loss.. the loss of a child is something no parent should ever go through and she has all our condolences for her heartbreaking loss. Amazingly, Aurora is in a way better place and by the side of the moon goddess! This is amazing that your mate is part goddess, but that means we will be more of a target now they will come for her and the babies! But twins? That's amazing!" He says this with so much excitement in his voice.

"Well, the moon goddess said they are not.. um.. made yet, but that we will be pregnant with twins soon. But the moon goddess did warn us that they would know right away about her and come for her. That's why she told us about her guardian and of course, me to be by her side. But I'm going to head to my goddess now and make sure she is OK, but I just needed to tell you what's going on." I say to him as he responds instantly, "Yes, please give her our condolences about her awful loss, a father and daughter in one moment.. no one should ever have to experience that but at least she got her revenge for them. I'm so happy she didn't die, but we need to make sure it stays that way, we can't lose her... Please watch over her and can't wait to see you. I love you, son, try to keep your head up."

I smile to myself as I respond, "Thanks Dad I love you and miss you... I will do my best for her. Talk to you later." I hung up the call as I put my phone in my pocket and started walking again.

I keep walking down the hall and as I get to my door... I can hear crying on the other side. I take a deep breath in, then let it out as I slowly open the door, not trying to intrude on her much-needed time for herself. I slowly open the door, taking a look around and I don't see her in the room but I know, she is here.. so I walk in shutting the door behind me. My gaze glides around and I follow the sound of sniffles. I hear a song softly playing... The closer to Ashleigh I get, the louder the song and her singing get.

She is sitting on the floor with her back against the side of the bed and Aurora's suitcase opened up in front of her. She had so many of her things in her arms, holding them tight to her chest. She has her eyes closed as the tears run down her face. She is singing, three little birds by Bob Marley, the song I noticed that she sang to Aurora. "Don't worry.. about a thing... cause every little thing.. is gonna be alright.." She bursts into tears as she pulls her knees to her chest, crying harder than before.

I kneel next to her, and her eyes quickly open and she looks away from me, instantly wiping the tears from her eyes. I put my hand under her chin, turning her face in my direction. Her cheeks are still covered in tears, but she looks almost ashamed for crying about losing her baby.

"I'm sorry." She says so softly to me as she looks up at me with those glossy purple eyes still filled with tears. "You have nothing to be sorry for... I don't know what you think, but you have all the right in the world to be sad about the loss of your baby." I say to her as she looks away again saying, "I don't want you to think I'm weak from all this... I swear I'll be a good, strong Luna."

"Oh my love, it's the opposite. I keep thinking you can't get any stronger and yet you keep proving me wrong by stepping up and being strong, no matter how many times you have been hit down. Especially with how awful things have been for you... you keep getting knocked down, but what do you do? You just get right back on your feet... I couldn't be more proud of you." I say to her so sincerely as she looks confused as she comments back. "But what about me killing Paytan? I swear I'm not a power-hungry lunatic who kills now that she has powers... I just needed to do that for my peace of mind. I couldn't let my family's killer live... But I don't even know how I did the vines thing, which is crazy to me.. it just happened... The hard part was, I didn't feel bad.. but I keep telling myself I'm not a bad person... But who could kill someone and not feel bad? I don't know, maybe I'm not strong enough." She says back to me, looking like she came to some sort of realization.

"Ash baby, you're the best I could have ever asked for because you are strong enough. I know you're not a crazy psycho with powers now. Honestly, watching you take control like that and telling her how it was and still giving her some mercy, while still killing her to avenge, was so sexy. It showed me how ready you are to be the Luna... you avenged your family and I don't think you should feel bad about that at all either. I think that's normal. You will get better with your powers in time. Maybe we can try to train you with them when we get back to my pack.. I'll talk to my dad about this and see if he has any ideas for me... But don't feel bad for being sad because if your lost, anyone in your position would be doing the same... it's ok to mourn your loss. You can take as long as you want. I just want you to know I'm here for you. No matter what you need, just tell me and I'll be there. I love you, Ash." I say to her with so much love and adoration in my eyes for her and only her... She knows it too.

She puts everything back into the suitcase quickly as she sits up on her knees in front of me since I'm still on my knees beside her. She grabs the back of my head, pulling me close and pressing her lips into mine so possessively, igniting those sparks between us. I don't know if I should give in, because this action is her trying to not deal with her feelings to get the Mate bond's wonderful high, with the physical pleasure.. but she does need something to make her feel good right now too... She has had a rough day and she needs this to help her feel good. Then so be it. She can use me all she wants and I will be there. You don't have to ask me twice.

I easily convince myself this is the route to go with, really no fight at all from my conscious... I deepen our kiss pressing my lips more into hers as Miles lets out a deep purr earning a little moan from her into my lips. Our kiss turns into a heavy hungry one as our hands quickly travel all over each other's bodies... They trail over just trying to get both of our clothes off in almost desperation for each other's touch. It's nice to know she needs me as much as I need her.

I get too anxious and impatient because I can't undo her buttons fast enough, so I grab each side of her shirt in the middle and tear it apart quickly, making her gasp and then smirk as I hear something, almost a purring coming from her increasing my want for her even more. I throw her ripped shirt to the side while I take mine off even quicker than hers, I look up to see her pants are already off. So I slip my pants and underwear off without hesitation as my readiness is at attention.

She pops her bra off and slips her thong all the way down her legs with such a sexy haste. I'm by her side in no time at all. I wrap my arm around her waist pulling her body into mine. As the other hand grips her head possessively, pressing her lips to mine. I start to back her up to the bed, not breaking our kiss until she suddenly turns us around and pushes me down onto the bed. I hug her like there is no tomorrow before I respond." Nothing will ever replace her.. but like you said, you will still be able to have contact because of that cool stone and she is getting taken care of by not just anyone but your grandmother, the moon goddess... That's something to be thankful for. I know that doesn't fix the fact of not having her here, just know I'm here for you... And you can use my body in anyway you need... like that, anytime again. I'm here for you baby." I say in a joking tone as she scoffs, laughing playfully, hitting my chest. I laugh so loud making her giggle in my hold. She leans back pulling me with her and I willingly go. She snuggles into my grip, making me tighten my hold on her as we both drift off into a deep, much-needed sleep.
