1. Second encounter: The calm before the storm
Waking up was never an easy thing for Vania, she has to set at least two alarms before even being able to open her eyes.
This morning is no different, even with the noise comming from the center of the city, the honks, profanity words and voices of people, she still managed to miss her first alarm.
That means that this morning she won't be able to go to her favorite coffee shop and will have to wake up with company's coffee. Good luck with that.
V: "Ughhh! Stupid phone, let me sleep!" (said Vania as the second alarm started to ring while trowing a pillow at it as she would've to a person).
She had to stay up late and finish an article about how drugs affect today's youth and how it is correlated with the rise in unnemployment.
Missus never felt more disgusted with herself while writing. The amount of people that begin to do drugs as a way to cope with everyday's heartbreak made her feel bad. She will get paid for it a fat commision but the people that really need help and guidance will probably never get it. Hundreds of souls lost their jobs, family, friends and houses just because some smartass decide to offer them, one night, a free pill, a free puff, a free snort or some free mililiters in a club somewhere "just to enjoy their night better".
V: "I hate you!" (almost yelled Vania as she managed to rise up from her bed).
Google assistant: "I'm sorry I didn't get that, please repeat."
V: "Fff... Never mind, I'm arguing with my own phone, you probably won't get that eighter."
As she was saying the last word, Vania went to her wardrobe to pick her outfit and take what's necessary to hop in the shower. And as If she could see the future the google asistent repeated the words before.
V: "Exactly! Now, if you'll excuse me I have better things to do than to question my own sanity so early in the morning because I talk with an object. Byeee!"
Google assistant - in the backround: "Good bye!"
She showered, brushed her teeth, got dressed, did her hair and make-up, as you'll never know when you will get promoted to be a TV presenter, and her business in less than an hour. She was getting better at multitasking in her little apartament's bathroom.
It was her dream since she was a child to make it to screen and help the world see the truth. So she promised herself that if she gets a job at "One press" she'll do whatever is necessary to make it there. After only 10 months she started to get big pieces to write for the audience.
That was a sign that her boss started to like her and to trust her so she had to make sure that she won't give him a reason not to, that will mean getting in time, respecting deadlines, double checking facts and grammar on her own, before the proof-reader that was a kiss ass even got his eyes on the pieces she was reading.
She finally started to feel that everything will turn out fine after she had a feeling of doom at the interview. You can't really blame her, the interview was held in the middle of the press center where every soul that was passing could see her.
The amount of people dressed as celebrities that were passing and looked so confident really intimidated her. Apparently if you managed to stay there and present yourself withouth running to the door was the way the CEO's made sure that they are hiring the right person.
V: "Good job Vania! Today you managed again to make one step closer to your dream" (said she while trowing one last quick glance in the mirror and smiling).
Got her bag, her phone, got her sneackers on and got ready with a big breath to take on the world again.
