Chapter 7: August Walker

Eren climbed the tree on the back garden and stayed at the top. The branch is broad that you can even lie on it. It's quite and relaxing there at napakaganda ang simoy ng hangin.

She went here the moment na natapos ang kanyang klase, to take a break for a clear her thoughts for the mean time. She can't concentrate at her class dahil hindi niya mapigilang isipin ang mga nalaman niya kay David.

She's still confused, the pieces of the puzzle is still incomplete.

Eren took a nap but she was awakened by the noise she heard under the tree. She frowned as she looked down to see the source of that hateful noise that awakened her from her peaceful nap. Much to her displease she saw the arrogant homosapiens, August Walker with a girl and judging with their looks they are having a fight.

"Let's end this August. I want to break up with you."

Eren's mouth formed the shape of 'o' as she watched the scene unfolds. This is a real drama straight out from those romantic shows. How she wished that Maxeene is with her right now.

"W-Why? Tell me y-you're just bluffing right? Tell me baby."

"I'm serious August. I'm tired of this."

"N-No! Don't do this to me Sophia! Please baby!"

"I'm sorry August!" The girl said and walk away.

"Argh! Damn this life! f**k!" August said then he punched the tree."

Eh? I thought she's a playboy. But why is the girl breaking up with him? Oh wait. Maybe he is indeed a playboy and his girl got tired of him. Ah this is so funny.

Secret isn't found of romance but she's interested in gossips and juicy scoops like this. It's her cup of tea. She and her colleague Violet likes to gossip about the stuffs that they've seen during their missions. It's a hobby that they can be passionate about aside from killing of course.

Eren is getting annoyed as she keeps on punching the tree. Is punching is the only thing he can do? He should try tackling the tree or kicking it.

"I understand that you are releasing your anger and hatred on the poor tree, but you are disturbing my sleep!" I said and I jumped down from the branch of the tree.

Bakas naman sa mukha nito ang pagkagulat. Tsk. I supposed to act like a clumsy and shy nerd not like this.

"So the famous August Walker was dumped by his girlfriend and now he's hurting himself. What a fool!" I said and turned my back on him.

"You don't know anything nerd!" Matigas na sabi nito. I turned my head to look at him.

"Yeah. Love is your capital but the interest that you'll receive in the end is pain and anger. It's exactly the state you're in now."

"I don't f*****g care about your words of wisdom nerd. Don't you dare, say this to someone what you've seen! If you say this s**t, I swear i'll hunt and kill you."

"Oh, Walker is afraid to lose his dangerous facade. My, I'm scared." I said with a full sarcasm and he glared at me.

"Shut up or i'll rip your head off! How dare you to talk to me like that?" He said between his gritted teeth.

"You're such an angry person. Chill man chill." Secret said and smirked.

August looked at him suspiciously and she sighed.

"R-relax. I'm not a-a snitch. I-I will not tell a-anyone about y-you getting dumped."

Then this arrogant homosapiens glared at him. "Are you shitting me right now?!" Matalim na ika niya.

"Eek. N-no, I'm s-sorry."

"Stop stuttering. It's f*****g annoying."

"B-But I can't. This is h-how I talked. I have a-a speech disorder."

"b***h do you thing you can f*****g fool me? You just talked straight earlier!" Galit na wika nito saka mas lalong nagdilim ang muka ni August.

"It's happen s-sometimes. I can t-talk without stuttering b-but it's r-rare." Eren answered with a scared voice. "I also t-talked like this w-when I accidentally b-bumped into you a-and apologized."

"I'm not convinced."

"It's up t-to you. If you b-believe me of not."

"M-ay I go now?" Eren asked.

"Fine."

"Thanks." She said and turned her back away from him.

"Wait!" He suddenly called and Eren stopped.

"W-why?"

"Name."

Huh? Are we playing a one word game now? Secret thought.

Eren looked at him with a confused expression which made August sighed in displease.

"I'm asking what is your name. Who are you?"

"Ah. I-t's Eren 'f*****g nerd' Baeyens!" Sagot niya at mabilis na umalis bago pa makapag-react ang binata.

Who am I? You throw me a f*****g good question Walker.

I really don't remember who I am, even my true face, I can't really recognize it now. With all the masks that I wore and all the identities that I used, I now forgot my true self.

She always went on the top of the tree every after class, because she found that place to be relaxing. It's full of Zen which she needed right now. She also doesn't need to worry about doing her assignments because she usually tossed that tasked to Zero.

Eren took a deep breath savouring the fresh air as she prepared to take a nap again but suddenly she saw someone walking towards the tree. She looked at the person and she recognized him.

He sat at the bermuda grass and leaned his back on the tree.

"August Walker." I said as I looked down on him. Lumingon-lingon naman ito at hinahanap kung nasaan nagmula ang boses na tumawag sa kanyang pangalan.

"For all I know, you're favorite spot in this garden is not here. It's in the bench surrounding with flowers." Bigla naman itong napatingin sa taas meeting Eren's eyes.

"Are you stalking me?" He said on irritating voice and she just laughed maniacally for what he said.

"No. Why should I?" I said. "You're not interesting enough for me to stalk you."

"The hell?" He said in annoyed voice. "Who gave you the right to talk rudely to me?" he said ang glared. "And why aren't you stuttering right now?"

He asked habang nakataas ang kilay nito.

"Tired acting." Secret honestly said.

"Tsk. I knew it." He uttered in annoyance.

"You got good instincts Walker. Is that because you are a son of a mafia leader or because you're used in playing dangerous sports? Which one is correct? Do enlighten me."

Yes, August is a son of a mafia leader. Nalaman lang niya ito last night because of the information that Zero sent to her. He said na baka makatulong ito because Nathan is part of August 'liitle' group dahilan upang mas lalo siyang maguluhan.

It's possible that August angered someone from another group and they took Nathan to get back at Walker.

"I don't know what you are talking about." He denied but Secret can feel the hostility coming from him.

"Yeah deny all you want. But it's no use on me..." She said. "...also can you turned down your hostility for a moment. I'm just here to talk with you."

She said and jumped down. But as soon as she landed on the ground August grabbed her and pinned her on the tree.

"Who are you? Who sent you?" He asked with a hawkish gazed.

Secret sighed and rolled her eyes. "First of all can you let me go?" Walang buhay na wika niya.

"I'm was sent here to investigate your friend's disappearance along with the two other students."

"How should I know that you're telling the truth?" He asked and she just shrugged.

"I need information about Nathan and you're the only one who knows a lot about him, that's why I need to ask it from you." She said and her tone became serious. "I wan't to know is he's really connected to the disappearance of Marko and Maisee or if he disappeared was done by your rivals to get you."

August let go of her and Secret pat her wrinkled clothes.

"And if I don't want to give information?"

"Then I'll challenge you into a racing competition tonight. I know you can't say no when it comes to racing. That's how I'll get info from you."

A smile crept on August lips. "I like the sound of that."

"Then it's settled."

Secret sent a messaged to Zero.

I need a racing car. Deliver it tonight 22:00 sharp at the Red Circle.

She went into her room and change into her black shirt and black jogging pants before going into the kitchen. She saw Maxeene in there who look desperate while cooking.

"Hi M-max. Anong g-gingawa mo?" She asked.

"Well, I'm trying hard to cook dinner for us." She said with a shy voice.

Eren took a look of it at napangiwi siya sa nakita niya.

"Ano b-bang niluluto m-mo?"

"U-Uhm chicken curry?" Napailing naman siya sa sinabi nito. This isn't a chicken curry! It's black it's completely burned.

She took a glance on her watch and decided to take over Max's curry.

"Ok, t-throw that one. I'll t-teach you how t-to cook curry." She said and she saw a glint of excitement on her eyes.

"R-Really?" She said at tumango naman si Eren.

"Waah! Thank you Eren!" She said happily and jumped like a kid.

She got the ingredients inside the refrigerator at inilapag iyon sa table. Eren teach her how to cut the chicken and the vegetables properly.

She instructed Max what to do at na siyang sinunod nito. It took them a while until they managed to successfully cook a curry.

She helped Maxeene to prepare the table. Then she served the rice and the curry. Eren took a spoonful of curry in her mouth and Maxeene is looking at her full of anticipation.

"What do you think?" She asked nervously.

"It's d-delicious. You're a f-fast learner Max." Eren said said and smiled.

She went in her room after their meal and decided to wait before the time of the race.

Time passed and when I look on my watch it's already 21:00, She stood up then and stepped out of her room. She saw Max sitting on the sofa while scrolling her f*******:.

"Saan ka pupunta?" She said when she noticed Eren.

"Sa bahay. N-nagkaroon kasi ng e-emergency." pagdadahilan niya.

"Oh, take care Eren."

"T-thanks."

She went to the Red circle and sat on a bench outside while waiting for walker to arrive. After a few minutes, a car was arrived and she smiled when she saw Walker getting out of his car.

This place is dark kaya mabilis siyang nakalapit sa kanya ng di nito namamalayan. Perks of having a knowledged in stealth.

"Don't disappoint me Walker. Show me how you play." Secret said behind him na siyang ikinagulat nito.

"What the f**k?! Are you trying to kill me?" He shouted but she just smirked on him na siyang kinainis nito.

"Of course not, I'm just greeting you." bulong niya and before he can react Secret immediately disappeared in front of him.

Secret found a place for her to watch the game. The announcer let the racers go in there places. She saw August roaming his eyes around the crowd bago ito sumakay sa car niya. Then his eyes found her and lock his hawking gaze towards her.

"On your mark ready set go!" at umalingawngaw naman ang putok ng baril. Na naging sanhi ng pagharurot ng mga kotse nila.

They watch the game in a wide screen and the crowd gets wild while cheering. Most of them are cheering for Walker when he drifted perfectly.

It's so predictable. Walker will obviously win this boring race.

"You're so cool August! Please come with me tonight!" the girl said seductively to him while she encircled her arms to his waist.

"Cool bro! As always you let them eat the f*****g dirt!" the guy happily said while his tapping August's shoulder and the fellows around him agreed.

I guess those are his friends.

August walk towards her with wearing a cocky smirk.

"So?"

"Yeah, you're good but you didn't reach my expectation Walker. I'm really disappointed. It's that all you've got?" She said and her eyes went crescent and her cheeks flush as she smiled.

Secret looks dreamy in contrast of her taunting words.

His smirk suddenly got wiped out off of his face.

"You really are pissing me off." Madiin na wika ni August.

She laughed sweetly at him.

"Bro do you know her?" A guy suddenly asked but August ignored him instead and talk to Secret again.

"Are you going to race against me or not?"

"What an impatient homosapiens you are." She answered and grinned.
