Chapter 2: Luxeford Academy

A small limousine sent by AAO appeared in front of Secret's place para ihatid siya sa academy. Sumakay siya sa kotse at komportableng umupo sa backseat. She saw her reflection on the window. Erenia Baeyens a girl with a long black hair who wears glasses that hides her blue eyes and thick lashes. Her fashion sense in only on the average and she has a presences of an introverted person.
Tumaas ang sulok ng labi niya. She felt satisfied on her disguise.
Napatingin siya sa telepono na nasa loob ng kotse dahil sa biglang pagtunog nito. Kinuha iyon ni Secret saka sinagot ang tawag.
"Good Morning Sir." Bati niya rito.
[Um. Good Morning. The stuffs that you requested was already sent ahead on the academy.]
"Thank you sir." Secret answered and sighed. "You know that I'm still having doubts in doing this."
[I know and I don't care.]
Wika nito sa kabilang linya dahilan upang mapasimangot siya.
"You really are terrible that's why you didn't manage to get married, Uncle." She said. Secret smirked as she can feel her uncle twitching his eyebrows in annoyance.
"Don't worry uncle. If I manage to find a single lady in her 50's here, I'll set you up with her. I'm so terribly concerned because of your constant grumpiness and I came into a conclusion that having a love and s*x relationship is your only cure." She laughed teasingly.
[Why you-, How dare you say that!]
She laughed even harder as she heard his angry voice.
Secret gasped. "Uncle don't tell me you're mad because I 'lady' perhaps your taste is into men. Oh my god I'm sorry uncle. I'll try to find a man for you then."
[You ungrateful brat! Aahh, my neck. You're going to be the death of me, you f*****g brat.]
Secret chuckled saka niya binabaan ng telepono si Sir A. The boss of the AAO is her uncle. He was strongly against her joining the organization before but she managed to convince him. It was hard convincing and uptight and serious man like her uncle but he eventually agreed because of her persistence.
After some time, Secret finally arrived at the academy. The driver opened the door for her and she stepped out from the car.
"Thanks for the ride." Wika niya.
"it's a pleasure." Sagot naman nito. "Good luck."
Tumango si Secret saka naglakad palayo sa limousine na naghatid sa kanya.
"Oh." She uttered in amazement.
A garden was built in front of the academy with a sculpted fountain in the center. The layouts and the buildings are carefully designed. She wondered how many architects designed the whole academy.
The academy's lobby is huge and elegant. Isang mamahaling chandelier ang nakasabit sa taas at may fountain sa gitna ng lobby. It was the same as the fountain outside. Ang sahig naman ay gawa sa marmol.
May mga mangilan-ilang estudyante na naglalakad sa school ground at sa lobby at tulad ng inaasahan ang mga estudyante ditto ay puro mga anak ng mga mayayamang pamilya.
The way they dressed, walk, talk and laughed. Masasabi mo talagang mayaman sila. They are sophisticated and classy.
Isa nga talaga itong exclusive school for the elite people.
"This is going to be a headache." She murmured. Dealing with these rich brats is a pain in the ass. Mas nanaisin na lang niyang makipag-suntukan kaysa makipag-usap sa mga aroganteng tao.
"Tsk mabuti na lang at tinignan ko kanina ang blueprint ng academy na to kaya alam ko kung saan ko mahahagilap ang Dean's office na yan!"
As soon as she arrived Secret knocked gently on the Dean's door.
"Come In."
Binuksan niya ang pintuan at nakita niyya ang dean na nakaupo sa kanyang swivel chair tantiya niya ay nasa mid 50's ang lalaki.
"Good morning sir." I greeted him with a formal tone.
"Good morning. Take a sit." He said. Sinunod naman ni Secret ang tinuran nito at umupo.
"You must be the person sent by the government." He said.
"Yes Sir." Sagot niya. "I am here to re-investigate the a*******n of your students. I know that they already gave you some briefing but keep this confidential."
Seryosong wika niya. "I'm sure that the families of the victims are blaming the academy right now. That's why this investigation must be kept hidden no matter what. I don't want to alert the criminals or other third parties. I hope you understand Sir."
"Of course." The dean's said with a firm voice. "Feel free to find me if you ever needed some assistance." After their brief talk, Secret finally left the office and opened the envelope containing her schedule that she received from the dean.

"I'm getting headaches by looking at this." She silently grumbles as she walk ahead to find her classroom.
Hindi siya nahirapang hanapin ang classroom niya. Heh she can't get lost after memorizing the blueprint of this damned academy. She entered the room at naramdaman niya ang pagtingin ng mga estudyante sa kanya. They look at her with a scrutinizing gaze.
"Who is she?"
"From what family is she? Does anyone know her?"
Damn brats. If you want to whisper make it quieter. Secret thought while fighting the urge to scratch her ear. She was born with a sensitive hearing and smell and it became sharper after she joined the organization.
She walked towards the empty chair and seated on it.
"Hi anong pangalan mo?" tanong ng isang babae na nasa kanan niya.
"Eren. Erenia Baeyens." I said.
"Nice name. I'm Maxeene Maurer. You can call me Max!" she said cheerfully and smiled. She offered her hand and Eren reach it and they shook hands.
"You're a transferee? Ngayon kang kasi kita nakita?" She said at tumango naman si Eren.
Makalipas ang ilang minuto dumating na ang prof nila saka tinignan ang dala-dala niyang list para sa attendance. He called the names one by one and called her name last.
"Oh, there's a new student. You're the transferee that the dean's talked about?" He said at marahan naman siyang tumango.
"Okay, please introduce yourself young lady."
Tumayo naman si Eren mula sa kanyang upuan. Saka yumuko at huminga ng malalim bago siya nagsalita.
"U-Uhm. I'm Eren. Erenia Baeyens a-and i'm o-one of the s-scholars." Utal na wika niya. Eren is nervous.
Nagsitawanan ang ilan sa mga kaklase niya.
"Damn a scholar?"
"Urgh. A commoner."
"I wonder how much did she sell her body?"
Eren's face reddened in embarrassment. mabilis siyang umupo at yumuko sa kanyang desk.
"Don't mind them ganyan talaga ang mga ugali nila!" Maxeene whispered with a consoling voice.
"T-Thanks." Wika niya saka tipid na ngumiti.
"So, I'm Albert Moraya your professor in Inorganic Chemistry Lecture and Laboratory." He said.
"Our topic for today is about Molecular Structure and the two theories the Valence Bond Theory and Molecular Orbital Theory."
"Anyone in the class who have the idea about the two theories?"
Walang nagtaas ng kamay kaya nagtawag si Sir Albert ng pangalan.
"Stacey, answer my question!" He said.
So Stacey pala ang pangalan niya.
"I-I don't know sir." She said.
Tsk! Akala mo kung sinong nanglalait wala naman plang laman ang utak.
Thankfully Eren has a knowledge of chemistry and it made her glad that she actually studied this branch of science.
"Oh yes, Eren?"
"A-Ahm. Valence bond theory (VB) is a straightforward extension of Lewis structures.
Valence Bond theory describes covalent bond formation as well as the electronic structure of molecules. The theory assumes that electrons occupy atomic orbitals of individual atoms within a molecule, and that the electrons of one atom are attracted to the nucleus of another atom."
"Molecular orbital(MO) theory is a method for determining molecular structure in which electrons are not assigned to individual bonds between atoms, but are treated as moving under the influence of the nuclei in the whole molecule." She answered easily.
"Very good. Thank you Eren." He said.
Bumulong naman si Maxeene ng makaupo na siya.
"Grabe Eren. Ang talino mo ah para kang walking dictionary." she said at napangiti naman siya sa sinabi nito.
"So like Eren said, The Valence bond theory assumes that electrons occupy atomic orbitals of individual atoms within a molecule, and that the electrons of one atom are attracted to the nucleus of another atom. And attraction increases as the atoms approach one another until the atoms reach a minimum distance where the electron density begins to cause repulsion between the two atoms. This electron density at the minimum distance between the two atoms is where the lowest potential energy is acquired, and it can be considered to be what holds the two atoms together in a chemical bond.
"And in addition to the MO theory that we heard awhile ago is Molecular orbitals are obtained by combining the atomic orbitals on the atoms in the molecule. Consider the H2 molecule, for example. One of the molecular orbitals in this molecule is constructed by adding the mathematical functions for the two 1s atomic orbitals that come together to form this molecule. Another orbital is formed by subtracting one of these functions from the other...."
"...And also Molecular orbital theory is said to be more powerful than valence-bond theory because the orbitals reflect the geometry of the molecule to which they are applied."
They quietly listened to Sir Albert's lecture to finish before the class moved into their designated laboratory to apply the things that he discuss.
Eren smiled. This isn't bad. I might actually enjoy being a student again.
