Chapter 7

Rome, Italy. Carlos's pov: Have you ever seen Satan and tried to beg for your life and s**t like that so that nothing bad could happen to you? That happened to me in this case. The feds have just discovered where I live and have arrested me. Kai was attempting to bargain with them, but they threatened to arrest him for being a collaborator. "Why am I being arrested right now? particularly after meeting with a lawyer?" I asked the fed with an irritated tone. "As we stated two days ago, Mr. Romano, you had days to find a lawyer to assist you with your case, and unfortunately, your time has passed," the feds said. "I already had a lawyer here before you arrived," I explained. "So, why aren't they here to help?" asked the fed. I couldn't tell them that I told Alliana she wouldn't be my lawyer because they'd taunt the living s**t out of me if I did. "Never mind, can I make a phone call?" I asked. "You can make a phone call once you get to the police station," the fed said as he grabbed the handcuffs. "Kai, I'll call you when I arrive," I said, and he nodded. Two other cops were holding me down while the fed handcuffed me. Let me tell you how fortunate I was to have those painful cuffs removed when I was released from prison; now I'm back at square one. They grabbed me and escorted me out of my damn mansion while AJ, Vex, and Denzel f*****g watched, which was extremely embarrassing. Why, now that I think about it, didn't they assist? They have guns for a reason, morons. They forced me into their car and seated me in the middle, causing two cops to sit to my left and right. Kai remained inside the mansion, watching another cop try to do something. I began second-guessing my decisions regarding Alliana as we drove to the police station. Why did I even throw her out and tell her she wasn't qualified to be my lawyer? Is it because I'm not used to having a woman in charge of what I do? Is it because her attitude is too much for me to endure? No. Is it because she's too much of a smartass with bitchiness? I'm not sure, but I know I have to apologize and at least try to persuade her to reconsider being my lawyer; otherwise, I'm not sure what I'll do. When I arrive at the police station, the first thing I'll do is call Kai and tell him everything. Aside from that, I don't have a choice but to stay put. But all I can hope for is that Alliana will forgive me and help to assist me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alliana's pov: When Souline and I returned to our hotel, we went to our rooms to change. Never in my life have I been so shamed and disrespected during work for attempting to assist someone who is so egotistical and rude, along with his bodyguards who wear man diapers. I had to relax my body before I could even change. I went to the bathroom and turned on the hot water. I wanted my nerves to relax so that my stress doesn't spread throughout my body. I sat in the water and let the water and steam wash over me as I relaxed. I stayed in there for about forty minutes before getting up before my fingers turned all gnarly. I changed into my bathrobe before settling into bed to watch television. I ordered some food for Souline and me because she was going to accompany me into the room. Someone knocked on the door after fifteen minutes. "Come in," I yelled from the comfort of my bed. The door opened, revealing Souline holding a bag. "Hey," Souline said softly as she closed the door behind her. "Hey," I said. "How are you feeling?" Souline asked as she approached the bed. "I'm fine, a little stressed," I explained. "Same, but take some deep breaths," Souline advised. I rubbed my temples and nodded. I furrowed my brows, perplexed, as I looked at her bag. "Can you tell me what's in the bag?" I asked. "Just some files I finished," Souline explained as she handed it to me. "Thank you," I said as I took it and placed it on the nightstand. "Well, let's just wait for the food and watch some movies," Souline said, clapping her hands together. "Alright," I said as I looked for a movie. The food arrived about thirty minutes later, and it looked like it came from heaven. I know I didn't order as much, but it was because I had lost my appetite while being in that mansion. We ate, watched some TV shows, talked about nonsense, and then went to sleep this nightmare away.
