A LEARNED LESSON

CHAPTER 3

When Efosa entered the supermarket, she shopped around for 30 minutes, but during the shopping, he ran into Peter, her long-time boyfriend who had heartbroken her.

At first, she couldn't believe who she was looking at, because both of them were shocked when they met. Peter was stammering to speak to her as a result of what he knew he had done to her long ago.

But he took the bold step to start the conversation but Efosa didn't want to listen to him because the moment she saw him, the long-time heartache he had created in her kick started by merely looking at him again.

Peter started pleading with her about what happened, but Efosa didn't bother to listen to him, she was even trying to leave his premise. But he didn't give up, when Efosa was about to leave, he knelt for her.

Efosa was touched by the action he displayed at that moment which made Efosa stoped.

While Peter was still pleading by telling her he realized what he did, and he was deeply sorry for committing such a toxic behavior towards her.

Efosa kept mute for a while and later declared to him that she had forgiven him long ago, and she did from the button of her heart. At that moment, Peter feels relieved because he was forgiven wholeheartedly.

Peter started engaging her in a conversation by asking her about her love life. But, Peter was disappointed with her response that she was married already.

But peter insisted and told her that he still felt something for her even though he knew the action he committed and embarrassed by it. He would tell her the truth but Efosa couldn't believe what her ear was hearing.

She told him she had married and could never engage herself in a romantic relationship with him even if she wanted to, she couldn't. Because she can't cheat on her husband, David, because they have been happily married for years.

Peter later ended the conversation when he knew the conversation was not in his favor. And Efosa later told her that this was where everything they had shared ended.

But Peter couldn't believe it, because he still had feelings for her even though she dumped her, and the feeling geared up when she saw her because she had changed over the years and looked more beautiful due to the comfortable life she was now living.

But Peter couldn't control his heart and finally said “I Love You’’. Efosa was shocked by the statement but couldn't do anything other than to leave him there at that moment in order not to fall for his deceptive words for the second time.

Shortly after Efosa left him at the standing spot, she went straight to her car and she drove off from the supermarket.

When she got home she was thinking of what to do and felt confused because:

He doesn't want her marriage to be affected

She didn't know if Peter was for real or not and

Maybe she should ignore him to avoid costly mistakes that can cause damage to her marriage by losing respect from her hubby.

All these were screaming out loud in her head and didn't know the type of decision to make.

Shortly after that, her phone rang, it was Peter but luckily for her, her husband wasn't around and she picked up the call and told David straight away that he should stop calling her and if he didn't, he was going to either delete his number or block him.

But peter still insist of seeing her by asking for her address but Efosa refuses because she knows that, if she reveal her address to him, she is going to fall for him, but she didn't want to do something that will later result to damaging her reputation.

Shortly after her husband came into the house from his recent outing. Her husband noticed that her wife's face looked pale and he didn't hesitate to ask her about what was wrong with her.

she disclosed to him that she was not feeling well and her husband talked her into going to the hospital, but she insisted that she was fine because she had taken some supplement. All these was just to hide the true situation from her husband because she didn't want her house to get scattered.

So the case was closed and her husband didn't ask her more about what was wrong with her since he knew she had taken supplements, and she would be fine.

After two days, Peter called again but her husband was sitting beside her and she didn't want him to know who was calling so she hung up the call and sent him a text that he should stop calling her, otherwise, she was going to block his number instead.

But, the feeling Peter was developing for her didn't make him stop calling her. But Efosa later realizes that if she doesn't block Peter, he will later cause havoc in her marriage with David.

It was on this foggy Wednesday Evening, Peter called her again but Efosa's phone was with her husband. But her husband was curious to know who was calling her wife.

So, he to picked up the call but the phone was off at that point because it was on low battery.

When her wife came to him, he asked her about the person who was calling her and she told his husband that it was her brother calling, but her husband found this too good to be true because she doesn't save Peter's number with a name rather, she left it blank because she knew his number off hand.

But her husband agreed with her, and soon after this incident passed, Efosa blocked Peter's number because this was becoming too serious and she didn't want that.

Due to this, Efosa's calling line was not reachable whenever Peter called her. Peter was frustrated because he couldn't reach her again after so many attempts.

Which left Peter no other choice rather than to forget and remove Efosa completely from his memory. This is hard for him but he tried to forget her at all cost and he later did.

But Efosa didn't regret anything because she thought she did the right thing for the sake of her marriage.

But something terrible happened months after she ended everything she shared with peter.
