So many questions raced through my mind as I waited to see Daniel.
Was he going to recover fully? Would he be able to use his shoulder and left arm properly? Would he be able to operate a Mech-suit again? Would he even want to?
If it was me, I wouldn’t want to go back underground again. Ever.
Images from when I was trapped in that hole ran through my mind, making me shudder. The sides of the hole seemed to push in on me. Ants crawled along one wall and some weird beetles walked over my feet. It almost felt like I was back there. I shuddered again and shoved them from my mind.
I needed to be thinking about the here and now. And I would have to wait to find out about Daniel.
