“It’s okay,” I said, and she skittered sideways. I hadn’t meant to scare her. “He’s not hurting him. He won’t hurt you.”
She looked from me to Allador, then at Daniel, who was now sitting up and glowing. She pulled a device from her pocket and pressed a button. “Security!”
“It’s okay. We’re okay. Don’t be scared. He’s from Kronos. He’s a friend.”
It was no use. She ran from the room calling for help.
I turned to Allador. “Maybe you should go. She won’t listen to me.”
I hadn’t thought about that. His light was dimmer than before. It would have taken a huge amount of energy to heal Daniel’s injuries. I needed to think. What could we do? Maybe he could hide. I looked around the room, but there was only a small cupboard in one corner. He wouldn’t fit inside.
