Chapter 33
I was dazed for a while... The pain was unbearable on my left side, but the rest of my body was numb. I opened my mouth to scream, but nothing came out.
What happened?
My vision was clouded and I realised I was staring at the ceiling. Why was I staring at the ceiling? Had I fallen? I couldn’t move. It felt like my left side was being crushed — like the roof had caved in on me.
A few seconds passed and my vision cleared some more. I could still see the ceiling, which meant I was lying on the floor. Whatever had fallen on me must have knocked me off my chair. I looked around and saw my chair lying on its side to my right. It didn’t seem to be damaged. I looked back up at the ceiling. It looked normal. Undamaged. That didn’t make any sense.
