Kira's POV     Ding Dong!     Ding Dong!     Ding Dong!     "Who the f**k is ringing my doorbell this early!" I growled in my head as I rolled out of my bed. I didn't get to sleep in yesterday, I didn't get to sleep in today. Who was trying to ruin my f*****g life! I stalked to my closet and threw on a robe since I sleep naked.     Ding Dong!     "I'm coming God dammit!" I yelled as I threw open my bedroom door and stomped down the stairs. I probably looked like a damn hellion, but at this point I didn't care. I stalked through my teal and cream styled living room and walked up to the front door.     Ding Dong!     I froze with a couple of choice curse words screamed at whoever was on the other side of the door. My head was pounding from getting up too fast, and let me tell you. I was not a morning person. "Whoever is on this side of the door better watch out for my f*****g fist" I hissed crossing my arms across my chest. I threw open the cream colored front door and lunged for whoever had interrupted my beauty sleep. Suddenly I felt someone catch my fist, throw me into the wall, and pin both of my hands on either side of me.      "Damn you are not an angel in the morning" a deep voice, that I knew as the only person who could stop one of my direct attacks like that, whispered in my ear.      "Joshua" I growled pulling away until my head hit the wall and looked into his brown eyes.     "Morning my sunshine and my future wifey!" he crooned in a singsong voice. Causing me to shoot the best death glare I had his way. "Damn I think I made a mistake waking you up" he said with a teasing grin on his face. I just glared back aat him and dared him to let me go. "I have a feeling you want me to let you go?" He crooned studying me.      "Actually yes I would appreciate it" I gritted out glaring at him judging how best I could escape.      "Well you know I would let you go...", he said morosely, "but I'm kind of worried about what you'll do to me when I do let you go." I studied him for a moment thinking about my options. Finally deciding on a course of action I smirked to myself before answering.      "Why are you here my husband to be?" I crooned slipping my Huntress facade on. He studied my pinned arms, and my face for a moment with a look of suspicion. He didn't understand why I had changed topics so quickly. I usually was one to hold grudges. "Oh if only he knew" I thought darkly, but kept my face neutral so he didn't suspect anything.      He composed himself before answering "Really Kira?". Before he continued on with a neutral ease that made him the easy going partner I knew. "Don't you remember that Astefan wanted us to check out the warehouse one last time. In costume" He finished with a light chuckle knowing I had completely forgot.      "s**t, I can't believe I forgot about that" I grumbled in my head rolling my eyes at Joshua. Alexander wanted us to go back and make sure I hadn't missed anything. The bodies had already been picked up by the police and delivered to Alexander's personal castle forensics team. We just needed to sweep the warehouse while it was still quarantined by the town guard forces.      "Ugh well I'll still have to get dressed" I grumbled refusing to meet Joshua's eyes.      "Well I'll use your living room to change into my s**t then" He said giving a slight nod. I rolled my eyes he still hadn't let my arms go. "He's going to regret that" I thought as a wicked grin spread across my face. He looked at me with a brief look of confusion. As if his brown eyes were saying "What the hell are you thinking?".     "If you're that curious I should warn you. You never did pin my legs" I said with arrogance. His face had that perfect Oh s**t look on it as I kneed him right in the balls. He groaned, doubled over, cursing like a sailor.      "Now, I'm going to go take a shower," I said cheerfully, "and the living room is all yours. Of course if you can make it there" I finished snickering, as I walked back upstairs to my bathroom.     I finished with my shower 30 minutes later and walked into my closet. I moved to the very back and pulled a black box off the top shelf. It was a suitcase sized black wooden box that had a gold cursive inscription on top. The inscription read "Eu sou a tempestade. Eu sou a cacadora" meaning "I am the storm. I am the Huntress". It had been Astefan's choice of words just as Joshua's had the same inscription just with Huntress replaced by Hunter.     I opened the box to reveal my Huntress uniform. It consisted of a pair of black running leggings, a black long sleeve shirt, a pair of black riding boots with gold buckles, a blood red colored cloak, a blood red mask with gold designs for public appearances just in case the cowl of my cloak came off, and sheaths for various different weapons. My weapons of choice also stayed in the box with the outfit. They were a pair of silver daggers that had rubies encrusted in the hilt.      I quickly threw my towel into the corner and began removing the contents of the box slipping them on one at a time. Once I had the shirt, pants, boots, and cloak on I walked up to my vanity and began plaiting my hair. Once that was done I swiped on some blood red lipstick, gold dusted eye shadow, and slipped the mask on. I refrained from pulling up the hood of my cloak that could be done later when Joshua and I were out among the public. I sighed in annoyance from having another perfectly good sleep in morning ruined before trudging downstairs.     "You're the f*****g best!" I shrieked as I launched myself at Joshua. Apparently while I was getting ready he had made waffles and bacon. And let me tell you bacon is a girl's best friend! He just laughed deeply and loudly as I engulfed him in a hug for 2.5 seconds before grabbing the plate of bacon and carrying it to my chestnut dining table.     "You do know that was for the both of us right?" He said with a smirk as he carried the waffles over and sat down.     "Yeah right!" I snorted, "Like you would've actually shared those waffles". I grinned as I pulled my mask off so I could eat. He did the same with his before shooting me a disapproving look.      "It's not like that wasn't the plan" He said with a shrug before pouring about 8 pounds of syrup on his waffles along with 8 pounds of whipped cream. We spent the rest of breakfast playfully bickering before we donned our masks both the literal and figurative. We climb out my window, and on the the roof before taking off over the rooftops in Reign during the busy morning.     Unknown POV     I walked up to the warehouse I had been informed about last night along with my colleague. To some we might look like normal slum goers, well except for my brother who had cotton candy pink curls that hung in his eyes. His eyes were mirrors of my own a dark black to the point where you could barely discern the pupil from the cornea. My friends had informed us of an important death that had occurred here 2 nights ago. We were here to check it out and to see what else might be found.      20 Minutes later...     "This is a fool's errand!" My brother growled from his perch on top of a crate. I sighed to myself debating on whether I should call him a annoying name or not. It would probably only piss him off more than he already was. I had no interest in putting up with him when I was more interested in dealing with Enscribos's death.      "Whether or not it is a fools errand," I growled, "Enscribos was one of the best messengers".      "Yes, yes I understand that," He sighed running a hand over his pale skin, "but we could've had other people come and do this. Other people volunteered for god's sake!"      "I already told you I wanted to come see it for myself, You didn't have to come" I turned to him shrugging before turning my attention back to a blood stain on the concrete floor.      "I wasn't about to let you come alone" he said with a shrug. While I appreciated my brother he was only one more person to protect. I'd rather have him safe at home.      "I'd rather have you.." I started before snapping my head to the door with a low growl. I could immediately feel the shadows, and silence beckoning to me ready at my disposal if there was a threat to be disposed of.      "Behind the crate now!" I snarled to my brother who had paled slightly. He only gave a slight nod before jumping off the crate he was on. I grabbed the shirt at the back of his neck, and dragged him behind the crate. Normally he would be the faster one but we had both been thrown off guard. We could both sense two people making their way through the warehouse now only to find out who it was...     Kira's POV     "This place is disgusting!" Joshua said as we walked into the warehouse. "Look at the freaking cockroaches!" He shrieked pointing to a ginormous bug in the corner. I shuddered at the size of it. I couldn't stand bugs.      "At least you couldn't see them at night" I muttered leading him to the center of the warehouse. The center of it is where I had found Jaconis after killing that Demon boss of his. Joshua paused noting the bloodstains and condition of the warehouse. In every way he moved you could tell he was a trained killer. Not to mention the outfit on him now gave him the appearance of someone dangerous.      "So let me guess this is where Jaconis begged for mercy and you refused" he said gesturing to the bloodstain on the center of the concrete. I nodded as I leaned against some crates stacked in the corner. I didn't have anything I really needed to search for so I was just observing Joshua at this point.      "How'd you kill the Demon?" Joshua asked examining some papers on top of a crate on the other side of the warehouse.      "A knife to the throat" I answered messing with my nails. They were already perfectly manicured but hell I was bored! I snapped my head up suddenly "I could've sworn I just heard a...growl?" I thought to myself wrinkling my nose in confusion. Joshua was still sorting through those papers stuffing a few into one of the hidden pockets in his cloak.       "Did you hear that?" I asked him glancing around nervously. He didn't even both looking up just grunted as if to say what?     "That growl?" I said now starting to second guess myself. That got his attention as he looked at me with a quizzical look.     "No..." he said slowly almost carefully as he dragged his gaze throughout the warehouse. I unsheathed one of my daggers, kicked off the crate, and began making my way over to Joshua.      "Oomph!" I cried out as something slammed into the side of me. Whatever it was threw me into one of the walls and my head slammed into the bricks with a crack! I took in deep breath after deep breath trying to get the dizziness to fade. I realized I couldn't even feel my knife anymore, or move any of my limbs. "What the hell" I thought in confusion through the pounding in my head.      I opened my eyes with a groan even the meager light in the warehouse sending knives of pain through my skull. I startled as I realized I was staring into a man's face, and this man was definitely not Joshua. He towered over me so if I had to guess he'd be over six feet, he had a honey colored complexion, dark wavy black hair that hung messily in front of his eyes, and his eyes. "s**t" was all I could think of he had dark eyes that would be by my definition black. You couldn't see the pupils, but you could see the whites of his eyes. Once I snapped away from studying him I noticed he had me pinned against the wall even one of his hands was big enough to pin both of mine to the wall. His legs pinned mine so I couldn't escape him as I had with Joshua, and if that wasn't enough he had my own dagger pinned against my throat. I was in some deep s**t.     I heard a bark of surprise from Joshua and a cackle of someone else. Whoever this man was he'd obviously brought a friend. I turned back to the dark eyed man when I felt him draw his nose across the hollow of my throat. I made a disgusted sound in the back of my throat to which he answered with a throaty chuckle. He met my gaze again before smirking at me revealing sharp canines. "Oh f**k" I thought in horror. This man was a Demon, and he held a knife to my throat.      "So you're the one who killed Enscribos" he stated with the slightest hint of an exotic accent. Damn if he wasn't a Demon that accent would be to die for. I just glared at him through the mask letting him know I was so not amused with this. I heard a sickening crunch from the main hall and even the black eyed man whipped his head around.     "f**k the masked dude broke my nose!" I heard who ever black eye's friend was yell to him. I chuckled softly knowing Joshua was having fun with this making Black Eyes turn to me and shoot me the legit scariest glare I have ever seen, and that's saying something. Let's just say it shut me up pretty fast. Suddenly a man with navy blue hair appeared behind Black Eyes and tapped him on the shoulder. Where the hell did he come from!? Whoever was with Joshua was still fighting him.     "What?" Black Eyes said turning around with a snarl. The Navy Blue man just chuckled slightly this mans temper having no effect on him.     "I see you're having a bit of fun" Navy Blue man said with a smirk. Oh god if I could use my hands right now I'd punch that smirk right off his face.     "You didn't answer my true question" Black Eyes said with a exasperated tone.      "The rest of us were waiting on you two," Navy said with a shrug, "but you seem to be having more fun here"     "That girl he's holding killed Enscribos!" Whoever was fighting Joshua yelled. Navy immediately snapped his eyes to me, bared his canines, and snarled. That was f*****g terrifying when I couldn't even fight back. Black Eyes snarled back at him the two of them having some kind of dominance battle. Navy eventually rolled his eyes and walked off into the distance. "Wait so they aren't going to kill me?" I thought in confusion as he pulled the knife away from my throat and tossed it aside.     "It's been fun Huntress it truly has" he crooned before once again running his nose down the hollow of my now exposed throat. He met my gaze both of us glaring at each other.      He paused for a couple minutes both of us just glaring at each other before we were interrupted. "We need to get him back to Emilia" Navy who had appeared out of nowhere dragging a man with pink curls said still scowling. I yelped in surprise as Black Eyes spun me around and pulled me against his chest still I wasn't able to move my arms. I could now see both of the men in front of us. They both had those creepy dark black eyes, but completely different colors of hair and style. The Pink man had a broken nose, and perhaps arm. I resisted the urge to grin at Joshua's handiwork. I could hear Joshua's footsteps running sluggishly towards our little group. I really would like him to get me out of here now.      "Well perhaps you'll actually put up a fight next time we meet Huntress" Black Eyes whispered into my ear. I rolled my eyes, but didn't answer I wouldn't give him the satisfaction of baiting me.      "Because if you don't you'll be returning with me" He crooned before chuckling as I stiffened. My blood ran icy "What the hell does he mean by that" I thought.      "I'll see you again I suppose" He said before tossing me to the floor. I hit the floor and tried to catch myself. I yelped in pain as I hit my wrist wrong. I looked up as I watched him turn back to me studying me as I held my wrist to me chest.      "Let's go" Navy snarled. Black Eyes rolled his yes and walked to the other two. All three of them joined hands before in a flash of blue and they all disappeared. "Huh I've never seen that kind of power before." Suddenly Joshua came barreling around the corner. I pulled myself to my feet and started as I took in his face when he pulled off his mask.     "God's your face" I said in disgust. He had a black eye, split lip, and a nasty gash on his forehead. That didn't even probably account for the rest of his injuries across his body. He let out a broken laugh as he walked up and pulled me into his embrace.     "Wow you usually aren't this touchy feelly," I said trying to joke and lighten the mood, "what happened to the real Joshua".     "I thought you were dead Kira" he whispered into my hair softly. I giggled softly sending a stab of pain through my head that had me gasping.      "I will be soon if I don't get some painkillers into me" I groaned causing Joshua to laugh out loud.      "Let's head to your place, change, and then head to Astefan's. We both need to see a healer, and Alexander needs to know what happened here today." He said with a irritable look on his face. I just nodded before pulling out of his embrace.      "Let's go then" I whispered trying not to aggravate my obvious concussion. He just gave me a thin smile as we both turned and made our way to the exit. The only thing that was running through my mind was what Black Eyes had told me "Well perhaps you'll actually put up a fight next time we meet Huntress. Because if you don't you'll be returning with me."      It made me shudder slightly even though I shouldn't be worried about it. I was the High Huntress, a trained killer who had never lost a fight. I didn't intend to lose this one. The next time I saw the Black Eyed Demon...     I'd put my knife through his heart.
