I run as fast as I could and even though I thought he was going to chase me, he didn’t. I didn’t see his face, but I’m sure as hell he has seen me butt naked. Ah, hell. Why should I care? It’s not like I’m someone important. I have no doubt that he has seen a lot of naked women. Maybe he was just out for a run late this evening and didn’t expect to see someone skinny dipping.
I was out of breath and sweating when I finally made it inside my house and shut the door behind me. When I check out the window to see if someone is there to see if I'm being followed, I cannot see anybody. After what seemed like an eternity, I was finally able to get dressed and use the towel to dry my hair. I let out a sigh of relief. Although I still have to get up at a ridiculously early hour in the morning, I'm going to make an effort to get some rest now.

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee greeted me as I opened my eyes the following morning. When I checked the time, I saw that I have only fifteen minutes left to get ready for work.
“Good morning, darling. Did you have a good sleep?” As Mama handed me a cup of coffee, I greeted her with a warm embrace and thanked her for making it.
“I did. I overslept and I can’t afford to be late today. Damaris is going to have my hide.”
Mama laughed when I rolled my eyes. “Well, Alex, she does put a lot of effort into her work. You are familiar with her demeanour in the presence of guests, aren't you?”
Because Damaris is such a perfectionist, she demands that even the smallest details are impeccable. She takes such delight in her work, the Luna will never be able to find a suitable replacement for her in the kitchen. It's impossible for me to refute the fact that she has a passion for cooking and that the dishes she creates are amazing. It is unfortunate that she did not have a wolf of her own. A well-developed sense of smell is certainly a desirable trait to possess.
I was able to beat Damaris by one minute and make it to work on time. Ida and four other Omegas were following closely behind her. These are the ones who assist us whenever there are new guests arriving.
“What are we cooking today?” I asked.
Instead of responding to our question, Damaris provided us with a rundown of the meals that will be prepared today. She plans to bake several different kinds of bread today. In addition to cornbread, there are bagels, croissants, and baguettes available. However, the cornbread is the unanimous choice.
"Ida, you are going to be in charge of preparing the berries as well as making the parfait. You are aware of the area where the ingredients can be found. It is really simple to prepare. Do you want me to show you, or are you comfortable with what you've seen thus far?"
She responded with, "Damaris, I am able to complete it."
“Good.” After that, she confronted me. "Alex, you are going to be in charge of cooking the bacon. Don’t burn them. I'll handle the eggs to ensure that everything else goes down without a hitch. In the dining room, the girl will be in charge of service."
I was able to provide a hand to the girls as they prepared the tables in the dining room. I've ensured that the cutlery and dishes are completely free of any stains. Luna Jade is displeased whenever there are watermarks present. She is a perfectionist, just like Damaris, and she does not want the pack to think that she is unable to carry out her responsibilities. Luna Aiyana was a legendary figure at Ironcrown Bane, and some people believe that no one, not even Luna Jade, will ever be able to live up to her reputation.
The time flew past, and I've been cooking so many bacon strips that I'm losing track of how many there are. Even though my arms are getting weary, Damaris doesn't even appear to be sweating. I can cook a few dishes but it's not one of my favourite things to do, especially when I have to prepare food for a large number of people at once. It appears as though it will never come to an end.
"Alex, you need to replace Violeta. The Silvercrown Bane's pack had just arrived when she shuffled the orders for the remaining two tables. Are you capable to carrying it out or—"
"I can do it." Because I have been repeating the same motion over and again, my arms have become quite tired, and I need a break. The prolonged standing has also caused my legs to become rigid, and it feels as though all of the blood from my head has drained down to my feet. I'm starting to feel dizzy and lightheaded.
Others want their eggs hard-boiled with no bacon and toast, while others want their eggs scrambled with bacon strips. Violeta has been serving customers for the past hour and a half, and given the variety of breads available, I can see why she's mixing up the orders.
I took the serving tray of food and brought it to the table in the middle of the room. It just so happened that I looked into the eyes of the future Alpha, and he was staring back at me. The sight of the two crimson marks on his forehead caused me to gulp twice. Would it be possible that he is— Oh my Goddess. If it turns out that he was the one I hit the other night, I'm going to be in so much trouble.
“Did you find the one who hit you with the pebbles last night?” The red head pack member which I assumed is his beta asked.
Without taking his eyes off of me, the Silvercrown Bane's future Alpha gave him a nod. The future Alpha features grey eyes, a sharp nose, and thin lips in addition to his dark hair.
I would guess that he is around six feet tall, and his body is toned and muscular in all the right places.
I know I shouldn't be looking at him so intently, but I just can't seem to tear my eyes away from him. Because of this, I will receive a punishment before the end of my shift. I get the notion that there is some kind of force between us, and I just can't seem to get rid of it. This is very strange, and I can honestly say that I've never felt this way to anyone else before.
“What’s your name?” he asked me.
“Alex Martin, Alpha.”
“Alex? Isn’t that a boy’s name?” I wasn’t sure if he was taunting me because of last night or he’s just a loon.
“It’s short for Alexandra, Alpha.” I was clenching my teeth in frustration. I'm exhausted, and the last thing I need right now is this. I still need to tidy up the kitchen and wash the dishes that have accumulated.
“I see. Well, did you happen to be out last night by any chance?”
"Gunner, why are you grilling her with all of these questions?" Beta, who had red hair, inquired in a hushed tone.
Yet the future Alpha, whose name was Gunner, didn't even bother to look in his direction. "I am asking you.”
“Because of the long hours I work, it was already late when I returned home, Alpha.”
"Have you been anywhere near the beach?" He inquired once more.
I shook my head and looked down. This way, he won’t notice that I’m lying.
“"No, Alpha. Because I was so exhausted, I decided to go to bed right away.” I tried to sneak a glimpse at him when I didn't hear an answer, and he mouthed the word liar when he caught me. I'm dead meat.
"You may go." When he said it, I suddenly found that I could breathe again, although it was just a temporary relief. "I will see you later."
“Alpha?” I was unable to suppress the frown that formed on my face and sounded worried.
"There's no reason to fret. I'll find you exactly like last night." I heard him let out a guffaw, and I knew right then and there that he was just getting started.
