(Clara's POV)
My tablet buzzed sharply on the dresser, and I scrambled to grab it, already knowing who it would be. Willow rarely reached out unless it was something crucial, and with her staying at the Thorne mansion for days now, I could only imagine the chaos she might be dealing with.
Her message popped up on the screen.
“Sister!!! Emergency. Grade six piano assessment tomorrow. What do I do??? HELP!!!”
I blinked at the message, my thumbs hovering uncertainly over the keyboard. A piano assessment? Tomorrow? Oh no. My sister was bold, brave, cunning—but piano was not her strength. That was something I had spent hours secretly practicing in Mom’s safe house.
I replied quickly, “We need to switch back tonight. Meet me at the usual spot.”
