It had been a long night, yet somehow, I slept like a baby. For once, I forgot all about my problems, every single one of them.
As I woke, the first thing I did was move my hand over my belly, tracing gentle circles. “My baby…” I whispered, a soft smile curling on my lips.
For so long, I hadn’t been certain what I wanted to do with this baby, but this morning, I awoke with a clarity and a surge of energy that I hadn’t felt in what seemed like forever.
I was ready. Ready to protect my child, to do whatever it took to keep it far away from Alpha Kael and his father. No one would hurt my baby. Not now, not ever.
