I heard a deep, authoritative roar from behind, demanding to know where I was going. Honestly, I had no idea.
All I knew was that I needed to cross that border and escape Alpha Kael's guards before they killed me.
Whoever that stranger was, I didn't care. I had been tossed around all my life—from being treated like a maid and an omega in my own pack to being sold to my mate, who banished me and now sought my life.
So I paid no attention to the roar and just kept walking as fast as I could, using each branch I could grip for support because of my injured leg.
