Blood? My heart jumped as I turned around and saw blood on the seat where Damon had placed me after lifting me from the floor.
Yes, there was blood on the seat. My heart was pounding, my hands trembling.
“Kaida!” Damon called, pulling my gaze from the blood to his worried face.
“Are you okay? You’re bleeding!” Damon yelled.
I gulped hard, my hands shaking. I couldn’t even utter a single word, feeling lost and confused.
“Kaida!!” Damon yelled again, more urgently.
“I’m... I’m...” I stuttered, struggling to find my voice. “It’s my period, I think it’s my period,” I said, desperately hiding the obvious truth from him.
No one knew I was pregnant, and I wasn’t ready to reveal it until I figured out what to do.
