12. Clarity

When Scarlet awoke late morning on Saturday, finally somewhat rested after her adventure of the previous night, she shuffled out of her room feeling like a zombie. She considered getting something to eat and going back to bed, but she stopped short when she went into the hallway and found some of her boxes stacked near her room door. That had to mean that her father had collected her car from the guy he had mentioned the day before. She was still squinting at the boxes in something of a daze when her father came through the front door carrying another one of her boxes. He chuckled amusedly at her when he saw her. “Wow, Scar…rough night?” He teased lightly when he put the box down on the stack and tugged playfully at a strand of hair that seemed to be standing straight out to the side
