Chapter 9 SHE WENT TO THE MARKETPLACE, slowly ambling through the city on her way. She wasn’t in the mood to steal—she’d never really wanted to do it in the first place. It was only after she’d left home that she’d realized what it would mean to live on the streets. But there was no other way. She had no way of earning honest money. She’d tried back then, she’d wanted a job. But she had no special skills. She only had her magic, and all the other fae had that, too.
