THE NEXT FEW DAYS PASSED without excitement, and Shawna was starting to struggle. She was bored because she had nothing to do with her time other than wander around the city and steal things. And irritated because time was ticking by and she had no way to save her father’s home.
When Valorie had mentioned that only by the king’s decree that she’d get her home back, she had hope that things could change for the better. But the more time passed, the more Shawna felt sure that all hope was lost. She wasn’t going to get her father’s home back.
