Aboard Junebug in the Golfo de BatabanoI t had been a long, high-speed run from Marina Hemingway, west along the northern coast of Cuba before Steamer Bartlett sighted Cayo San Antonio and made a turn south to round the island’s far western point. They reduced speed and put a couple of unbaited lines over the transom once they made the turn back east heading into the Golfo de Batabano. With Linda and June Bartlett in the fishing chairs aft, they steered for the mouth of the Bay of Pigs where Bartlett planned to turn south once again and bring the boat past Cayo Piedra at a distance of two nautical miles or better. They’d seen a few other tournament boats during the trip, most of them working off the north end of the island. As they motored past Cayo Corrientes, they passed a Guarda Front
