I told him I loved him. He stared at me with his bright green and blue eyes, glowing with happiness. He laughed and picked me up before he crashed his lips on mine.
Pure Bliss is the perfect descript-
“Miss Grennolgi, Mathew’s school is on the phone.”
“Thank you, I’ll pick it up in a sec.”
“Miss, are you alright?”
Yes, I’m fine Amelia, please tell the school I'll be with them in just a moment.” I said half choking down tears. Ameila sighed, knowing full well I wasn't alright, but knew well enough not to further pursue the topic.
As I gathered my emotions, I thought about that memory. It was, in simple terms, the happiest moment of my life.
I picked up the phone and Amelia put me through to the school Mathew attends.
“Miss Grennolgi?”
“Yes this is she, how may I help you?”
“Hello, my name is Dr Reyes, I am the Principal and I wanted to ask if I can schedule a parent meeting.”
“Not to be harsh, Dr Reyes, but what will this meeting be about? Has Mathew done something wrong?”
“No...not exactly, you see I’ve been receiving concerns from his homeroom teacher saying he has been having mood swings as of late, and I wanted to talk to you and your husband If their were any problems at home that we need to be aware of that are causing your son’s behavior-”
“No, there are no problems here Dr Reyes, however the mood swings may have something to do with Mathew not having a father figure because his father died before he was born.”
“Oh! I’m so sorry Miss Grennolgi, my apologies I did not know that, thank you for telling me.”
“Not at all, just if there are any further issues with my son, please do not hesitate to call me.”
“Of course, good day Miss Grennolgi.”
“Goodbye.”
I set the phone down and sighed, knowing full well that his mood swings have nothing to do with his father’s death, it is his dragon being born. I knew this day would come, just didn’t expect so soon.
