Savannah POV
I stare up at the sky with my green, hazy eyes as shooting stars fly past my vision. The sky is a deep blue and purple with the moon as a shining flashlight blended with a pearl metallic. It almost seems just as beautiful as when Van Gogh painted it in his painting entitled: Starry Night. But then again, nothing beat his work.
"Wait wait, hold up.....you mean to tell me you met Leonardo de Vinci?" Mathew asked, interrupting my story.
"Yes my baby, I did. Now may I continue, or are you going to interrupt again?" I said with somewhat of a sarcastic tone.
Mathew was my beautiful baby boy. He had ashy brown hair and green eyes like mine. Even though he was only 10 years old, he will soon pass me up in height, and that's pretty tall considering i'm 5'8 myself. Mathew was the light of my life and the only thing that mattered to me.
"No mom i'll listen," he said with a sad demeanor. I chuckled and continued my story.....
As I was starring at the beautiful pearl colored moon, i listened to the wonderful sounds around me, and as I did this, I fell into a deep blissful slumber. My slumber was short lived however by a few trucks honking at the road just a few miles away, and I woke up with a jolt.
What I saw next was nothing that I have ever expected to see.
"What was it?" Matt asked.
"shh and i'll tell you." I whispered
In the reflection of the water, i did not see my human reflection, no, I saw my inner being, the creature so many folk tales deem a "monster." However when i looked into the eyes that stared back at me, I saw not a monster, but hurt and despair that could say a thousand words.
